Jane hadn’t really thought about it before, “Well..because..huh..” She commented with a small huff “Well I’m not exactly sure, I’ve never questioned it before. Just society I suppose? Being civilized is just polite, manners?” Jane tried to explain to Tarzan though she was finding it quite difficult herself. 

Jane took hold of his hand, a small smile appearing on her soft features as he spoke. At the question, Jane gave a nod of her head “Yes” She responded simply, voice quiet. “This place.. London.. I didn’t grow up here John, I grew up in the jungle, in Africa with the tribe and my father. I don’t belong here, we don’t belong here. Can’t we go back? Forget London, the manor, be where we were meant to be?” 

👣 John moved closer and wrapped his arms around her, urging her closer to get down on his lap. His face inched closer till it was only a little away from hers. He looked into her eyes, wondering if she was sure about what she just had told him. Was she truly unhappy here in London?

Jane often came to this place for quiet and thoughtful thinking when she had a troubled mind. The sun was warm against her skin, blonde hair resting upon her shoulders as her legs were tucked against her chest. She hadn’t realised that John had found her until he was sat opposite, distracting herself from her thoughts. At the question Jane gave a small smile, “I’m fine” She stated quietly “Just have a lot on my mind…” She missed Africa, she missed the people, the wildlife the different environment altogether. “Do you ever miss home?” She asked, resting her head against the wooden tree trunk.

👣 John remained silent for a moment while he listened to his wife. He didn’t even need to think twice when she mentioned the word ‘home’. Of course she missed Africa just as much as he did. It was their home, it was the place where they belonged.

“I do” The man spoke silently, almost in a whisper when he slowly let his hand come up to take a hold of her soft one. His thumb slowly stroking over the top of her skin while he did so.

👣 John had been searching for his wife for a couple of minutes after the noon had passed. She was awfully quiet at the table and he actually wondered what was wrong. If ahything was wrong.

He figured that he should check on the place where they both loved to go, a place that was surrounded by nature. A place surrounded by peace and silence. The man made his way over to the large tree that was present in the middle of the valley, his eyes already focused on the woman that was sitting on a thick branch.

His hand came up, searching for a good grip so he could pull himself up on the wooden structure. One leg got placed at each side of it, taking a seat right in front of Jane while his eyes locked on her.

“Jane Clayton” She responded, arms folding over her chest. She must have been stupid to ask help from a pirate, but she had gold, lots of it if that was what he was interested in. “I need to find my husband, he was taken by a man named Captain Leon Rom” She explained, “My husband is John Clayton, formally known to everyone else as tarzan.” She knew that most would know his other name, the name that the african villagers called him. “I can give you gold if that is what you wish?”
