“It will work. Trust me on this.” He gave him a weak smile. “Nah I stopped that coffee shit. Now I’m just pinching myself. This midterm a pain in my ass. I need one credit but the teacher being a bitch.”

Jake said nothing just sipped his drink as she whined. He finally gave a sigh when he felt her tug on his arm once more. “Im still waiting for Clarke, he said he wanted to have me help him with something so if you want to wait for me back in the dorm you can but I’m gonna stay.” He shrugged

The girl frowned at him and she sucked her teeth. “I’m more important.” She mumbled and looked at Clarke kinda upset with him. She gave him a fake smile earning a look of displeasure from said man. She held on to Jake again as she looked at Mahina.

Jake and Mahina both froze at the voice, the latter turning around quickly looking for the source. When her eyes finally landed on her cousin she felt tears prick her eyes. “Oh you BITCH!!!” She squealed getting out of Clarke’s hold and barreling her way through the crowd. She tackled the smaller being holding her close as they jumped up and down happily. “HOW DARE YOU NOT TELL ME YOU WERE FINALLY COMING!!!” She giggled

“Told you.” He smiled watching Mahina run to Dom. Dom smiled hugging her back her hair bouncing as she jumped. “Hello my little Luna.” She grinned looking at her. “Well what fun would that be. I had to surprise my two….my special person.” She gently pushed her hair back. “You look as stunning as ever darlin.” She smiled. Her eyes traveled to Jake just as he kissed Jazmonaè. Dom made a face of complete disappointment. She looked at Mahina then started to laugh not even bothered. She walked up to Clarke and hugged him tightly. “Clarke baby.” He grinned hugging her. She looked at Jake and hugged him not caring. “Jakie.” She smiled at him. Jazmonaè pushed Dom off him. “Who are you?” Dom looked at where she touched her at and made a face. “Girl you’re temporary hush.” Clarke tried his best to not laugh.

“Oh please don’t act like you didn’t use Clarke’s ass as an easy distraction to deter me from finding out.” She snorted bumping her hip with hers. She followed as Dom made her way back to the small group and greeted everyone equally. It took everything in Mahina not to laugh or growl at the disrespect given and received by her cousin but before she could even think of stepping in she felt strong arms wrap around her waist. “She must not know I will kill her” she hissed lowly

Mahina decided to go for a walk after her talk with Gen. She didn’t know why the conversation affected her so but yet here she was once again thinking about mate’s and how she didn’t have one. A deep sigh of frustration escaped her as she walked further into the woods till she got to a field and laid down among the wild flowers letting her mind drift off into all the emotions she’s tried so long to ignore. “Mates…as if anyone would ever want me.” She mumbled to herself wiping away at her tears

“How about we all go on a run after the movie?” She smiled

“I like that idea.” Bucky chuckled.

He sighed and closed his eyes taking a deep breath to calm his sadistic beast. “We can always cuddle but when my wolf is like this….it’s not the best idea which is what I’m trying to get you and him to understand. I don’t want you to remember the first time with me as a complete and utter nightmare.” He whispered finally opening his eyes

Genevieve frowned, “How would it be a nightmare, Jake?” She shook her head and looked up at him, taking his hands in hers. “I’d go to the ends of the earth for you.” She then placed one of his hands over her heart where it was beating strong, “You’re mine as I am yours… our wolves know this…”

He raised a brow and turned his head to the side giving her an unreadable expression. “This is not a debate of whether you are my mate or not. I’m talking about my wolf and how…..unfriendly he can be at times. And when he gets like this sex isn’t entirely safe for you.” He shook his head and ran a hand down his face. “I’m trying to protect you not push you away and deny you.” He sighed

Genevieve felt burned, would she ever understand his wolf? Perhaps not. Clenching her jaw, she was going to say something, but that’s when Buckh and Mahina came in. Damn it all… she immediately flipped her mood and smiled at them. “It’s nothing, Mahina, what’s up?”

“Yea that sounds like fun, my wolf is anxious to get out anyway.” Jake stated giving a half smile

Bucky chuckled, “Well let’s get-” his words were cut off as Mahina practically dragged Gen out of there. He frowned and looked to Jake, “the hell was that about?”

Jake groaned and fell back on the couch covering his face with a pillow. “My wolf being his typical ass self” he grumbled

Bucky raised his eyebrows, “Ah… now I get it.” He sat across from Jake, “Genevieve poking the beast again?”

“More like she’s not fully understanding that my wolf isn’t a normal alpha. Same way you’re not a normal alpha.” He sighed keeping his face hidden

“She grew up with you guys… I’m sure she does… since I met her… only thing I’ve seen her afraid of is losing you guys.” Bucky rubbed the back of his neck, “Soooo, why are you so hesitant. Not like you have to wait for Joss like us.” He was just hoping Jake would open up a little more to him.

“She doesn’t actually…” he started finally removing the pillow and sitting up. Looking at Bucky he ran a hand down his face. “Mahina is a royal hybrid as everyone knows, however what many don’t know is that she has more than one wolf. In order to help her my wolf is….different and this makes him difficult. He’s a sadistic shit that doesn’t know anything about making love. The things that he wants to do to her for our first time is not what I want her to remember. I want it to be memorable and pleasant not full of pain. So if that makes me an asshole so be it.”

Bucky frowned as he listened and nodded, “Makes sense, I don’t know how you do it… I mean not caving.” He gave a bit of a chuckled before sighing a little. “I’m surprised she doesn’t with how much time she spends with the two of you.”

“My dad and uncle taught us restraint and believe me when I say that you don’t ever want to go through restraint training.” He snorted

Bucky snorted, “yeah, I’ll pass on that one.” He frowned and shook a little, “tension in this house just got worse.” He muttered and looked to the staircase.

“Yea I doubt this will end well….” He sighed
