i’m going incognito because i know how unpopular this is :) a lot of people act like nesta is faultless/hasn’t hurt those around her too and that bothers me so much. she needs help, sure, but she also has been such a jackass to everyone and it bothered me a lot. i’m of the opinion that mental health is never your fault, but it is your responsibility. TLDR; nesta needs to reconcile with everyone shes lashed out at as much as she also needs a helping hand.
Anon, I’m SO glad you said this. I’ve been wanting to talk about this for a while because I’ve been seeing a lot of fans excusing Nesta’s behavior just because she’s been through a lot. No matter how fond of a character we are, we should still hold them accountable for their actions and acknowledge when they’ve done wrong.
I’ve posted quite a bit about how I love Nesta and want to see her have a happy ending, but that does NOT negate the fact that she has mistreated the people around her. A person’s pain/trauma doesn’t give them the right to hurt others.
I fully believe that Nesta should have a redemption arc, and I 100% agree with you that she should take responsibility for her actions and reconcile with those she has hurt.
