i feel like i’m constantly wrestling with the idea of family dynamics within bruno’s group. on the one hand i find them cute and i like them when i go to happy fun playland where everybody gets puppies and ice cream. on the other hand, i feel like the character dynamics presented in canon are far more complex and interesting than something that can be boiled down into neat little archetypes. it’s also not really something that’s present in the canon text. i think at most one could argue for bruno being paternal given his habit of caring for strays, but even then it’s mild at best.

it’s a shame because i do enjoy bruno’s team being viewed as a family. i think it’s a cute concept and i personally enjoy it for self indulgent reasons, but it is objectively something that flattens all of the characters out. when everybody get boxed into a certain role they have traits applied or stripped away to fit these narratives and it weakens their characters

something that really annoys me is when people don't know how Gold Experience works and they think it just magically heals people. Like NOOOOOOO it transforms objects into flesh n organs n shit, it does NOT just make your wounds magically go away and ESPECIALLY wouldn't be able to make an illness or infection go away

While I do love the 'greek god Giorno', I also adore the headcanon that he looks a bit like a cherub with rosy cheeks, especially when he starts eating properly. been thinking about prosciutto and mista as exes a lot recently. prosciutto seeing mista on that train and being unable to stop himself from grabbing mista then and there. dragging him off to a private car and kissing him so fiercely, hands all over him. and mista knows he shouldn’t let it happen but he does, because some part of him still misses prosciutto and it all feels so good. and prosciutto will turn mista around and shove him against the window, and he’ll fuck mista right there where anybody could see.

prosciutto with his arms around mista, chest pressed to his back and making all these pleasured sounds in mista’s ear. asking him if he’s missed him, if bucciarati and his men know just how much mista likes to be fucked. if any of them know mista’s body the way prosciutto does. can make him feel good the way prosciutto does. mista won’t say anything, won’t entertain the idea, but that’s answer enough. he’s still prosciutto’s doll in the ways that matter.

when all is said and done, prosciutto will still take mista’s pistol and put three bullets into his head. but he does feel some remorse when it happens. under different circumstances, a meeting like this could’ve been a second chance at a relationship. but prosciutto has a job to do, and at least this way mista goes out satisfied.

my personal pet peeve when it comes to Golden Wind artstyle is that they're all so skinny (minus Polpo I guess, but it ain't about him).

when I imagine part 5 characters in my head they're more 'average' size. you can't tell me a guy of Abbacchio's height (and who used to be a policeman, goddamn it) would run on such tiny twiggy legs. and Mista might be jacked, but he has a healthy amount of fat, too (well, it mostly went to his ass, but the point still stands)

very true and i think this is just an issue araki has sometimes. he’s kind of very bad at depicting characters as the heights and weights they’re supposed to be. like, you know, the fact that kakyoin is canonically 5’10 and 143 pounds but is drawn with the same bulk as the rest of the crusaders (if mildly smaller). and fun fact, mista is actually roughly the same size as kakyoin, being 5’10 and 150 pounds. if you compare the way araki draws kakyoin to mista, you would not think they’re so close in height and weight!

mista’s build is actually closer to how somebody his size should look, but yeah he could still use some meat on his bones. all of the bucci gang could. the main cast being so skinny is one of my big gripes too so i’m glad somebody else feels like this lol
