Kaya knocked on the door, feeling a bit emotionally unstable. 'Pissed off' seemed to be taking the lead in the cacophony of feelings jumbling around inside her at the moment. 'Hold it together,' she told herself. When the door cracked open, she bit her lip. "Hey," she said. "There was this guy... I mean, I didn't know where else to- uh, tonight's been a bad night. Do you have any ice cream?"
Piper opened door, elated to see Kaya, but immediately crinkled her brow with concern when she noticed that the other didn’t seem to feel the same way. In fact she seemed rather upset. “Oh? Um, well… I think I have some cookie dough left.” She stepped aside, pulling back the door to let Kaya in, “h-here, just come in and make yourself comfortable while I grab it.”
A guy, huh? That was no where near her area of expertise but if Kaya needed ice cream to feel better than she wasn’t going to deny her any. As she handed a bowl of the ice cream to Kaya, she contemplated calling Tony. He was better at relationship stuff, wasn’t he?
"So…" She sat took a seat next to Kaya on the couch with her own bowl. "Uh, what happened?" If she couldn’t help, she could at least listen.
Piper took the mug then sauntered off to the kitchen cheerfully, feeling both delighted and victorious by helping Kaya out. This’ll show Tony not to make fun of her for being clueless about relationships, break-ups, and all that stuff that makes up most of his boring rom-coms. Already she felt like a pro!
Gilbert’s thoughts were elsewhere, more in the territory of how he could teach the fool that caused this a lesson without anyone noticing. As uninterested as he was in romance and the like, he didn’t like seeing Kaya upset over it. He was relieved to see her smile, though his blank expression showed no indication of it. Instead he chose to remain silent on the matter…
"Well then…" He stood up, putting out his cigarette on the tray sitting on the coffee table. "Don’t hesitate to stay the night if you need to." He reached over, patting her gently on the arm as a gesture of encouragement before departing to his study.
Piper wandered back in a few moments later and handed Kaya her tea with a big grin, “so what do you wanna do now? Wanna watch a movie or something?”
She smiled a little at Gil. "Thank you. Although I think I'll probably head home in a bit, I'm feeling better now." She settled back into the couch cushions, pulling his big coat tighter around herself and waiting for Piper to come back.
"I don't know," she said, taking the tea with a smile. "I usually just sleep when my relationships end. We can watch a movie, sure. I'll just go home after that."
