Kyle groans. His head is pounding like he went on a 3 day bender with no water. He also, very promptly, regrets trying to open his eyes. Everything is too bright, burning out the detail of the room before he can recognize which one he's sprawled out in.

( the only consolation he has is that he's pretty sure he isn't in uniform anymore )

Donna prods him in the side, good-naturedly, and the Lantern groans again, curling up into as small a space he can manage. His body, naturally, protests at that, too. Kyle thinks, maybe, he would feel a little more alive if he had fallen on a landmine last night. Or was it two nights ago? He's not even sure what day it was.

What day is it? He asks. At least, he thinks he asked that. What actually comes out is, "Wha' dayzzit?" voice croaky and unused.

he’s waiting on a corner outside the venue when kyle arrives. ricci’s party is well on it’s way — meaning the guests have had time to pile in and get busy. also in a suit, the white streak in his hair’s dyed over, and the distinct scar on his cheek’s been covered up. best to avoid obvious identifiers, if things go sideways.

and he’s always prepared for that possibility.

“ look at you. ” he says, by way of greeting.

getting into the party’s hardly a matter of concern, really, between the fake names and an overarching no questions attitude about it as long as they’re on the list. within the chattering groups and moving bodies, they disappear.

jason leans into kyle, one hand settled on a shoulder. “ need to get up to the third floor. ”

he feels a little underdressed. not for lack of effort. but it's not like they were here to mingle, exactly. and hopefully the two of them wouldn't be in the eye of the majority long enough for them to suss out that he was wearing something off a men's wearhouse rack and not something coture.

except for the ring. but no one was going to recognize what probably looked like a signet or a class ring on his hand.

"and without a fuss, I assume." so no flashy constructs heaving the vigilante up the stairs. then again, the whole point of the two of them sneaking in in suits and ( well, his tie was missing ) fancy shoes meant that stealth was the ideal. "thought you all had contingencies for that kind of thing."
