I hate how ceremonial magick has become so intertwined with self-help culture and internet "optimization" bullshit, because there is so much amazing tradition to pull and learn from
But ceremonial magick feels so off-putting to many of us, especially if you're disabled, because of headass ceremonial magicians who swear that eating sugar "lowers your vibrations" or some shit
Marginalized witches need to reclaim the beauty of ceremonial magick and reform it, because for too long it's been relegated to wealthy, elite, educated, able-bodied white dudes who wanted to elevate themselves above everyone they marginalized
And for too long ceremonial magick has been over-hyped as this super intellectually complex thing that's only for REAL devotees, and I hate to break it to you but, most ceremonial magick is incoherent ramblings of old men who wanted to feel super duper smart
It's not rocket science, so please don't think it's too cerebral for you because the people who made up these rituals were fucking dumbasses trying things out and getting lucky once in a while
Ceremony is for everyone, not just lodge dorks who like smoking cigars, and honestly you'd do ceremonial magick way better than them anyways babes 🪄✨
Astarte was a goddess of the Ancient Near East and the main deity of Tyre, Sidon, Elate, and Byblos, important Mediterranean seaports. In Sidon, coins depicted a chariot in which appeared a globe, presumably a stone representing Astarte. She was also often depicted on the prow of a galley, leaning forward with her right hand extended, and is considered by some scholars to be the original model for the future figureheads of sailing ships.
In Sidon, she shared a temple with Eshmun, while coins from Beirut show Poseidon, Astarte, and Eshmun being worshipped together. In Byblos, Astarte was known as "Baalat," the feminine form of Baal.
Other important cult centers were Cythera, Malta, and Eryx in Sicily, where she became known to the Romans as Venus Erycina. A bilingual inscription found on the Pyrgi Tablets, dated to around 500 BC and discovered near Caere in Etruria, equates Astarte with the Etruscan goddess Uni-Astre, equivalent to Juno. In Carthage, Astarte was worshipped alongside the goddess Tanit.
The Aramaic goddess Atargatis may originally have been related to Astarte, although the first element of her name seems linked to the Ugaritic form of Asherah's name: Athirat. The Canaanite name of Astarte (the Greek version of her original name) would be Athart, and the Phoenician Ashtart, both derived from the Akkadian Asdartu, related to the goddess Ishtar.
Her husband was Baal, the god of fertility and storms and a central figure of the Canaanite pantheon. However, in some versions, she was also married to Tammuz, as referenced in the Bible in Ezekiel.
Ishtar developed from the Sumerian goddess Inanna, attested in writings from the fourth millennium BC, although her cult is considered even older. Inanna, Ishtar, and Astarte shared the same attributes, being associated with love, sex, fertility, hunting, and war, as well as having a connection to the moon. They were goddesses represented by the planet Venus.
Astarte was often represented with symbols such as lions, horses, bees, doves, and stars.
She arrived in Egypt through trade, where she was adopted as a warrior goddess and given as a consort to Set, along with her sister Anat. Her cult persisted through the Ptolemaic period until the early Christian era.
After her arrival in Egypt, she began to be frequently depicted with horses and chariots, as well as appearing as a beautiful naked woman, sometimes winged or with horns, maintaining characteristics of Canaanite and Phoenician representations. Astarte was also syncretized with Isis and Hathor, besides being equated with the Greco-Roman deities Aphrodite, Artemis, Hera, and Juno.
It was also in Egypt that she got her association as a moon goddess, because she was revered as a moon goddess in the Delta city of Tanis, where she was linked to both the moon deity Aah and Hathor-Isis, who shared relations with Aah.
Not much is known about her children; however, we know that Hauron/Horon, in Canaanite and Levantine mythology, is frequently described as her son. This divine relationship was transposed to Egypt, where Hauron, a god of healing and magic associated with the Sphinx, was seen as the son and lover of Astarte, facilitating his identification with the Egyptian myth of Isis and Horus.
Although many associate Astarte only with fertility and sexuality, a more impartial analysis of her textual and iconographic representations demonstrates that her main function during the Late Bronze Age was as a goddess of war, apotropaic (protective) magic, and healing, in strong analogy to her sister Anat, with whom she shared so many qualities that both may originally have been seen as a single deity at some point.
In this role, she was incorporated into the Egyptian New Kingdom pantheon, symbolically reinforcing Egyptian dominance over Canaan. During the first millennium BC, her warlike character became less evident, while her association with royalty strengthened. Later, during the Phoenician expansion into the western Mediterranean, Astarte merged with other local goddesses, although she maintained her functions linked to royalty and healing.
Her rituals were multiple, involving libations, worship of images and idols, as well as bodily practices of a sexual nature. Her main festival took place during the spring equinox, a period marked by grand celebrations of fertility and sexuality. The eroticism associated with her cult made her an extremely popular deity among the peoples of that time. According to biblical tradition, even King Solomon is said to have worshipped her (1 Kings 11:5).
Astarte is known in the Bible as Ashtoreth or Ashtaroth, consort of Baal, being condemned along with him as a "false god" by the Hebrew prophets, including Elijah and Jeremiah, for leading the people away from the worship of Yahweh.
As seen in Judges 2:13:
"They forsook the Lord and served Baal and the Ashtaroth."
And also in Jeremiah 7:18:
"The children gather wood, the fathers kindle fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke me to anger."
And Jeremiah 44:
"Astarte is the Queen of Heaven to whom the Canaanites burned offerings and made libations."
Astarte received the title "Queen of Heaven" due to her high status among the Phoenicians and Canaanites, as well as her association with celestial bodies, maritime protection, and feminine power. However, the title might have been inherited from her counterparts: Ishtar and Inanna.
Many Hebrew scholars currently believe that the biblical name "Ashtoreth" is a deliberate fusion between "Astarte" and the Hebrew word boshet ("shame"), reflecting the Hebrews' contempt for her cult.
In later Christian mythology, Astarte was transformed into a male entity: Astaroth. In demonology, he is described as an important Grand Duke of Hell, a resident of the western infernal region, and ruler of the month of August. He is also considered the treasurer of Hell, being described by Francis Barrett in The Magus (1801) as a "prince of accusers and inquisitors."
Astaroth is associated with vanity and laziness, and is also listed as one of the 72 spirits of Solomon. His iconography presents him as a naked and crowned angel, riding a dragon and holding a serpent in his left hand. He is said to be able to teach all the secrets of Creation, answer questions about the past, present, and future, and reveal information about the fall of spirits and its causes. He could also make men wise in all liberal sciences and would command forty legions of spirits.
In the Grimorium Verum, it is claimed that Astaroth governs the American continent. He may appear dressed in white or black, usually in human form, though sometimes he takes the form of a donkey. Two subordinate spirits, Sagatana and Nesbiros, would assist him in governing this continent.
According to the Grimoire of Honorius, Astaroth grants the favor of the great and powerful, being astrologically linked to the star Sirius. According to Weyer, Scot, and the Goetia, he can answer truthfully about all past, present, and future matters, as well as reveal hidden secrets. The Grimoire of Armadel adds that Astaroth is also capable of revealing details about the Fall of the Angels, including their lives before the fall, the origin of their names, and their creation.
The conjunction cycles between the Sun and Venus that form upright and inverted pentagrams over eight-year cycles have also been associated with Astaroth, as has the New Moon. She has also been related to the star Sirius (13°57' Cancer), known as the Dog Star. Sirius has a long tradition in mythology and conjuration magic, having sanctuaries in Egypt, Persia, Greece, and Rome.
His precious stone is beryl, a sea stone. His associated plants are the vine, mugwort, and dracaena. Among animals, it is symbolically linked to the serpent. His magical image is that of a dog and a young virgin, associated respectively with Anubis and the goddess Sothis.
Astrologically, Sirius is related to luck, pride, wealth, ambition, fame, honors, occult interests, and even dog bites. In magic, it is believed to confer honor, goodwill, the favor of powerful men and aerial spirits, as well as the ability to reconcile kings, princes, and rulers. However, one was warned of the danger of an adverse connection with Mars during Sirius's ascension, as excessive ambition could lead to accidents or even attempts on one's own life.
The representation of Astaroth as a male entity in the Goetia of Solomon likely arose from a translation error related to the writings of Johann Weyer. In the original Latin text, there are no explicit references to Astaroth's gender. The masculine references appear only in English translations, where the use of "he" was employed more as a grammatical formality than as a literal definition of gender.
Reginald Scot, using a very flawed English transcription, ended up repeating this error unintentionally. Considering the references Scot himself makes to Astarte in his writings, it is unlikely that he intentionally masculinized the entity. From these translations, the male interpretation of Astaroth ended up being incorporated into later grimoires, which, contrary to popular belief, were largely relatively late compilations.
This misconception has often been commented on by later authors and even ironized by Collin de Plancy, who depicted the male Astaroth marrying, or rather, reuniting with, a Phoenician lunar goddess identified as Astarte.
Leviathan is one of the most well-known daemons, ruler of the sin of Envy, speculated by some to be the beast of the apocalypse. However, there are older records about the daemon we know as Leviathan that appear in texts from the city of Ugarit (present-day Syria), around 1300 BC. At that time he was known as Lotan, which means "coiled," also transliterated as Lôtān, Litan (LTN) or Litānu.
In the Baal Cycle - a cuneiform tablet that recorded the deeds of the god Baal - Lotan is described as a seven-headed serpent or sea dragon, subordinate to the God Yam (also called Yammu), who reigned over the sea, the oceans and any other bodies of water. In this context, Lotan was Yam's helper and acted as the guardian of aquatic chaos. By bringing these two names together on the tablets, the scribes suggested that the dragon (Lotan) did not act on its own, but as an extension of the ocean's own unpredictable fury (Yam).
This connection reinforced the idea of a confrontation against the chaotic forces of nature, supported by being explanations of natural phenomena, just as myths were created to shed light on a problem.
Interestingly, there are scholars who believe that the reference to Lotan's "seven heads" may also be associated with the Greek myth of the Hydra. However, whether he, as Leviathan, is a reptile or another monster is much debated. For Kent Hovind and his followers, for example, they believe that Leviathan is a Tyrannosaurus rex. However, the organization Answers in Genesis presents a list of possibilities, but specifically states that it cannot be a Sarcosuchus, leaning more towards the hypothesis that the animal belonged to the order Plesiosauria or the family Mosasauridae. This is addressed in the article Drawing Out the Biblical Leviathan, by Simon Turpin, published on August 8, 2020:
"There are several plausible suggestions, based on extinct marine reptiles, for the identification of Leviathan: Kronosaurus, Liopleurodon, Sarcosuchus, Mosasaurus and Plesiosaurus. Sarcosuchus imperator seems to match many aspects of Leviathan's physical characteristics. However, there are problems in identifying Sarcosuchus as Leviathan: (1) it does not really fit the description of Leviathan as a twisting sea serpent; and (2) it has no known mechanism for expelling fire."
It has also been suggested that the appearance of Lotan with seven heads could come from eyewitness accounts — navigators of Antiquity who had the misfortune of encountering the notorious giant squid while traveling the Mediterranean trade routes.
The Baal cycle tells the story of the god Baal-Hadad, god of storm and fertility, who learns about a competition to see which God would be worthy of becoming the King of the Gods. The God El favored Yam in the competition, but Baal easily defeated him with a magical weapon forged by the God Kothar-wa-khasis, symbolizing the victory of heaven against the sea, of chaos against order.
In archaeology and Semitic studies, the texts discovered at Ras Shamra, the most famous mention of Lotan occurs in Tablet KTU 1.5 (Column I, lines 1 to 8). In this passage, the god of death, Mot, is speaking with Baal and recalls the victory over the sea monster. The text says: "Since you struck Lotan, the fleeing serpent, you annihilated the twisting serpent, the tyrant of seven heads, the heavens will wither and dissolve…" — (Tablet KTU 1.5, Column I)
It is even this passage that connects him to the Judeo-Christian tradition, for the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 27:1) uses exactly the same adjectives centuries later in Hebrew to describe and refer to Leviathan: "Leviathan, the fleeing serpent, Leviathan, the twisting serpent." Some historians also conclude that Leviathan may be the Hebrew name for Tiamat, given the similarities they both share.
As the tablet describes the god's journey in facing Lotan and Yam, Baal did not fight alone. In such tales, the gods acted in pairs, and in this fight Anat accompanied him. Scholars of religion suggest that the real situation was a joint battle: Anat acted on the front line decapitating the dragon's heads, while Baal used his lightning and storms to subdue chaos.
"Did I not crush Yam, El's beloved? Did I not destroy Rabiym, the great river? Did I not muzzle the Dragon? I crushed him! I crushed the twisting serpent, the tyrant of seven heads." — (Tablet KTU 1.3, Column III - Speech of the goddess Anat)
In the writings, in terms of passages that explicitly use the name Lotan, these are the main sources that have specifically survived. Furthermore, there are mentions that describe him under other names or titles associated with Yam (the Sea).
"I muzzled the Dragon (Tunnanu), I bound him tightly. I rubbed the snout of the horned serpent, I cut the back of the serpent that has fangs, I destroyed the creature that fights the gods…" — (Tablet KTU 1.3, Column III)
In this passage, the goddess Anat describes the monstrous attributes of the sea creature she fought (often associated with Lotan)
"The club danced in Baal's hands… he struck Yam's skull, the tyrant, between the eyes of the Judge River. Yam collapsed, he fell to the ground; his joints trembled, his spine bent…" — (Tablet KTU 1.2, Column IV)
After being struck by Baal's magical weapons, the text physically describes the collapse of the sea deity/monster. While Baal is crowned, gains his Palace and the cycle continues until his death and reincarnation.
Centuries later, this primordial creature of great influence in the myths of the Ancient Middle East, which shares similarities with other ancient monsters, such as Tiamat for the Mesopotamians, Jormungand for the Norse and Apep/Apophis for the Egyptians, would be absorbed by other cultures.
The parallel with Tiamat is still prevalent, for the account of Tiamat's death and the use of her body to form the earth and sky finds a parallel in medieval rabbinic literature, which mentions that, after being killed, Leviathan will form "a sparkling canopy over the world." And they share significant similarities as primordial aquatic monsters, symbols of chaos and related mythological figures, linked to the ancient creation traditions of the Near East.
As a matter of curiosity, the Litani River, which winds through the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon, was named after Lotan, as it was believed that the river was the personification of the god.
The Judeo-Christian View
In the Hebrew tradition, this same creature appears under the name of Leviathan as we know it, maintaining characteristics very similar to its Ugaritic predecessor, which indicates a direct continuity between the myths of Ugarit and the formation of the biblical texts. According to Jewish mythology, in the beginning of everything, Yahweh created creatures of monumental size to rule the world:
These three entities form the triad of primordial monsters in Jewish mythology: Ziz, Behemoth and Leviathan. They represent complete dominion over the elements of the cosmos - air, earth and sea.
Ziz: The colossal bird of the heavens, whose wingspan is capable of blocking the sun and protecting the earth against stormy winds.
Behemoth: The indomitable beast of the earth, associated with the brute force of large quadrupeds and the solidity of the ground.
Leviathan: The monumental sea monster, lord of the depths and often associated with primordial chaos.
According to Jewish tradition, at the end of times, these three creatures will face each other in a mythical battle or serve as the sacred banquet for the righteous at the messianic banquet.
The Bible brings detailed descriptions of Leviathan in different books, such as Isaiah 27: "I will not fail to speak of his limbs, of his strength and his graceful form. Who can remove his outer coat? Who would approach him with a rein? Who dares to open the doors of his mouth, surrounded by his fearsome teeth? His back has rows of shields firmly joined together; each is so close to the other that even air cannot pass between them; they are so interlocked that it is impossible to separate them.
His strong breath shoots out flashes of light; his eyes are like the rays of dawn. Firebrands come out of his mouth; sparks of fire leap forth. Smoke comes out of his nostrils as from a boiling pot over a fire of reeds. His breath sets coals ablaze, and flames leap from his mouth.
So much strength resides in his neck that terror goes before him. The folds of his flesh are firmly joined together; they are so firm that they do not move. His chest is hard as stone, hard as the lower millstone. When he rises up, the mighty are terrified; they flee in fear of his blows. The sword that strikes him does nothing to him, nor the spear, nor the arrow, nor the dart. Iron he treats as straw, and bronze as rotten wood. Arrows do not put him to flight, slingstones are like chaff to him. The club seems to him like a wisp of straw; the brandishing of the great spear makes him laugh. His belly is like a jagged potsherd and leaves a trail in the mud like a threshing sledge.
He makes the depths churn like a boiling cauldron and stirs up the sea like a pot of ointment. He leaves behind him a shimmering trail, as if they were the white hairs of the abyss. Nothing on earth compares to him: a fearless creature! He looks down on all the haughty; he reigns sovereign over all the proud."
Isaiah 27:1: In that day, the Lord, with his severe, long and strong sword, will punish Leviathan, the swift serpent, Leviathan, the twisting serpent; he will kill in the sea the aquatic serpent.
Psalms 104: There the ships pass, and also Leviathan, which you formed to play with him.
Some ancient interpretations suggest that God created Leviathan to play like a pet or a delightful creation, while others see him as a monster swimming freely in the waves.
Still within Jewish mythology, it is said that Yahweh originally created two Leviathans, one male and one female, as a demonstration of his absolute power. However, fearing that the reproduction of these serpents would lead to the extinction of humanity, God killed the female. For this reason, in the view of many practitioners of esoteric branches, Leviathan can choose to manifest in both male and female forms, alternating between the two.
Leviathan is identified with Rahab, angel/demon of the primordial abyss, of the sea, of chaos and of the depths, by Gustav Davidson, author of the "Dictionary of Angels", due to the chaotic capacity that both beings possess.
There are some theories that place him as the beast of the apocalypse, supported by Isaiah 27:1 in which Leviathan is called a "twisting serpent," an epithet that recalls Revelation 12:9 which gives Satan the nickname of "old serpent": Then the great dragon was cast out. He is the ancient serpent called the Devil or Satan, who deceives the whole world. He and his angels were cast down to the earth.
And 13:1: Then the dragon stood on the sand of the sea. I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems, one on each horn, and on each head a blasphemous name.
We saw that, despite the various hypotheses about its appearance, these passages refer again to Lotan with the number of heads.
In the Gnosticism of Justin described by the heresiologist Hippolytus of Rome in the 2nd century AD (specifically in the apocryphal book Book of Baruch by Justin), the universe is generated from three eternal principles: two masculine (Elohim, the spirit of good) and one feminine (Edem, the soul of the world and matter itself, described as a woman from the waist up and a viper from the waist down).
From this marriage of Elohim and Edem, two orders of 12 paternal and maternal angels or archons are born. It is precisely here that Leviathan appears:
In Justin's cosmology, Leviathan is explicitly listed as one of the twelve maternal angels of Edem. While Elohim's angels try to elevate the human spirit to heaven, the maternal angels (including Leviathan) work to keep the human spirit trapped in dense matter and carnal desires. Although visions vary among sects, Gnosticism often merges the image of Leviathan with that of a cosmic serpent that bites its own tail (Ouroboros). It encompasses the Earth and acts as a boundary barrier: enlightened souls break through this barrier to ascend to the Pleroma (the true heaven), while ignorant souls are devoured by Leviathan and reincarnated into material or animal bodies.
Modern Occultism
Over the centuries and the evolution of Abrahamic theologies, Leviathan ceased to be just a biblical monster and became a central figure in European demonology.
He was pointed out, for example, as one of the possessing demons in the famous Loudun Possessions and who would have signed the Treaty of Urbain Grandier, a priest who supposedly made a pact and spells, which led the nuns of the convent to be possessed, together with Lucifer, Satan, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Zebulon, among other daemons.
In the work Treatise on the Confessions of Malefactors and Witches (1589), by Peter Binsfeld, Leviathan was classified as the demon of envy, a title he carries to this day among the seven princes of hell. In the Malleus Maleficarum (1486), however, Leviathan was related to the sin of arrogance and pride, identified as the demon who tries to convince human beings to elevate themselves with haughtiness.
He is also often classified as the one who guards the gates of Hell, acting, for comparison purposes, like Cerberus guarding Hades. In medieval art and in invocation grimoires, the giant maw of Leviathan is often drawn as the very physical entrance to Hell, used to swallow the condemned souls at the Final Judgment.
In other classifications of medieval hierarchies, he is categorized as the very Dragon of Chaos, wielding absolute dominion over the Sea and the Void. As he governs the element of water, mainly in the Dukante hierarchy, this also means that he possesses a proficiency in the dominion over the unconscious, dreams, emotions and sensations, the "interior / human psyche."
In contemporary occult philosophy, the figure of Leviathan gains a much more metaphysical and archetypal interpretation. In the words of writer and occultist Asenath Mason, Leviathan is defined as: "The soul of the world, the eternal beginning and end, the element of inner chaos and the divine potential that lies dormant in the dark recesses of the human psyche… [He is] the primordial force of all creation and all destruction… Leviathan is the very beginning, the original cosmic force that gave rise to the universe… He is that which is above and that which is below."
In her book: The Complete Book of Demonolatry, Conolly says that Leviathan may also be known as Luithian. However, I found no mention of this name in traditional grimoires or in any books. I found it worth mentioning for curiosity's sake.

What if I told you that it already is an inexpensive practise and tradition and that it's actually the online modernisation of religion that makes you think that it's something that costs you money...
Looks like it's time to talk about starseeds and the New Age movement again.
Since I'm seeing more starseed content being posted, I'm gonna make another post on why the whole starseed thing and the surrounding New Age belief system are... not good.
So for those who don't know, New Age mythology is essentially a hodgepodge of cherrypicked and distorted myths from various cultures, racist pseudohistory, and far right conspiracy theories. To put it very briefly, starseeds are supposedly here to help Earth resist the reptilians, a race of politics-manipulating, war-starting, media-controlling blood-drinking aliens. For those who don't recognize the tropes here, these are basically all antisemitic canards. The reptilian alien myth as most know it today comes from David Icke, who ultimately cribbed a bunch of his material from The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, a Russian hoax created to justify violence against Jews. He was also influenced by the work of people like Fritz Springmeier, a hateful crank who based much of his work on other hateful cranks.
(David Icke, by the way, also claims that transgender is an evil reptilian conspiracy. You'll never find just one form of bigotry with these people.)
There are supposedly numerous alien races out there, and one of the most prominent among them are the Pleiadians, AKA Nordics. While modern depictions of the Pleiadians give them more variety in skintone, there's no denying that older Pleiadian mythology basically pictured them as Aryans In Space, even associating them with the swastika.
You see what's going on here? "Good" swastika-loving Aryan aliens versus "evil" Jewish aliens? Sound familiar?
Racism isn't just a tangential part of the starseed myth, either. It lies at its very core. It's inextricably tied in with the ancient astronaut hypothesis, which has a history of racist motivation behind it. The TL;DR is that a bunch of white people couldn't believe that non-white people had built a bunch of things they couldn't figure out how to build themselves (EG, the Great Pyramids), so they proposed that the real builders were anyone from Atlanteans to aliens. (Atlantis, by the way, never existed; it was a literary device created by Plato.)
One supposed purpose of starseeds is to help the world "wake up to the truth," which basically just means "convert people to New Age spirituality." New Age believes that world peace is contingent on a majority of the world being converted to New Age belief, and that resistance against their belief system is ultimately the work of the aforementioned reptilian aliens.
To put it another way, New Agers think they understand other cultures' spiritual traditions better than the actual members of said cultures, and think that anyone who disagrees with them is being manipulated by the conspiracy, or is an agent of the conspiracy. This includes Indigenous cultures which are already endangered from white Christian colonialism.
Essentially, endangered cultures cannot speak up for themselves and resist New Agers' efforts at cultural assimilation without being labeled a problem and an enemy. It's basically white Christian colonialism repackaged as "spiritual, not religious."
Again - if you heard from these people that some ancient text or myth describes extraterrestrial beings visiting our planet for one reason or another, you heard misinformation. They twist and misrepresent literally every myth and text they get their hands on. For example, you may have heard that the vimanas from Hindu traditions were actually alien spacecraft. They were no such thing. Or maybe you heard that the Book of Enoch describes aliens performing genetic experimentation on humans. It literally does not. At best, all of the stories they cite just kind of sound like aliens if you ignore most of their content and pay no attention to their cultural contexts.
The starseed movement preys on alienated people, especially autistic people and people with ADHD. You can look up nearly any list of signs that you're supposedly a starseed, and many of them will align perfectly with characteristics associated with autism and/or ADHD, or that people with these conditions commonly report. Some people within the movement even go so far as to claim that ADHD and autism don't even exist, but were actually made up by the conspiracy as a cover to suppress and control starseeds, which is some yikes-as-hell ableism.
So basically, people are being told that if they have these certain characteristics or symptoms, that means it's their job to spread New Age spirituality to defeat the conspiracy and help others ascend to the fifth density.
And what's the fifth density, you might ask? It's supposedly humanity's next evolutionary level, because New Age is also based on biological misconceptions. Supposedly once everyone's DNA "upgrades," they'll essentially morph into an aetheric form. Supposedly, this is preceded by a number of "ascension symptoms," including depression, headache, gastrointestinal issues, and any number of other symptoms that could indicate almost anything, including stress.
What many of these people don't realize is, this prediction has already failed. Back in the 2000s and 2010s, experiencing "ascension symptoms" was supposed to precede ascension to 5D beginning December 21, 2012. One lady, Denise Le Fay, was convinced that the hair loss she was experiencing in 2008 was an ascension symptom. As we can see by looking her up, she's very much still with us on the 3D plane these days, repeating the same tired old scripts New Agers recycle endlessly.
By the way, everything you near New Agers saying today about old systems being dismantled, dark forces being arrested or kicked off the planet, and new economic systems on the horizon? They've been recycling these scripts for years now. Take a look at this page written back in 2012. You got stuff about the complete dismantling of an enormous network of sinister forces," "the arrest and removal of a world-wide cabal," and a "new economic system."
("Cabal," by the way, is a dogwhistle term for "Jews.")
Furthermore, people in this movement are often encouraged to try and access past life memories through dreams or hypnosis, which makes the whole thing feel even more real to them. But the thing is, you can have incredibly vivid experiences about literally anything you put your mind to - the people in the reality shifting having vivid experiences of living another life in the Harry Potter universe are a great example of this. Just because you have vivid experiences, doesn't mean they have any bearing on anything happening in this reality.
So yeah, the starseed movement and the larger New Age movement are both extremely harmful. They promote racist pseudohistory, medically-irresponsible pseudoscience, conspiracy theories that target numerous marginalized groups, and functionally target aliened people with ADHD and autism to convince them that spreading its beliefs is their job.

Life's been busy for a hot minute, and shadow work has been intense. I happened to fall a bit out of practice with, well, everything, which I'm slowly coming back to. A rest here and there are good, though, to approach things with a new mentality. I'II shall post more consistently now that I'm back.
After all, i started this blog to serve as a live grimoire, if you will, to document things and compare them later.
Lately I've been thinking of writing a book about the 72 daemons of the Goetia, demystifying (?), I don't think that's the right word, but I'm sleepy now, their origins. We know that many were demonized gods, Baal and Astaroth, for example, I don't know, I thought it would be an interesting idea. And I personally like reading historical articles about them. It's all still just an idea. I already wrote Astaroth, Asmodeus and Baal's parts, though.
Why is every witchcraft book I’ve read secretly a Wicca book. Wicca and witchcraft are not the same thing. If you are going to write a book about witchcraft and/or paganism, pleaseeeee clarify if you are writing about Wiccan witchcraft.
The Infernal divine has no set rules. There are no morals for their human followers to follow. Demonolatry, as such, is a very individual based practice. While each demon has boundaries and rules that appear common among interpretation, you won't see concepts like purity, miasma, or that much of an organized hierarchy, be it for humans or the infernals themselves (because let's face it their titles differ book to book, even then it's purely subjective).
What I like is that it reinforces natural consequences. Human-to-human harm isn't treated like a religious, spiritual, moral hierarchical issue. Instead, you get the natural consequences of what you do, most Infernals won't tell you *not* to harm back, just advise you on how to do so appropriately to the situation, or do it themselves. Sometimes, you are the consequences someone else needs to face.
In the same way, if you want to hurt someone without reason, you'll get yours accordingly. There's no delay, no fear mongering about the afterlife, usually no warning. Just the consequences you deserve.
I think I've begun preferring that when many other practices and beliefs began debating semantics or causing meaningless drama to defend their position. The infernal divine and their teachings haven't forgotten the simple truths of our instincts- protection came before morals. "Vengeance" wouldn't be needed if your "justice" truly worked.
