Uma Sharma, is an artist working with the medium of animation and illustration to portray themes of nature. Currently she is a graduate student at Pratt Institute, NY. Originally from India, after gaining her diploma in animation from Srishti School of Art, Design and technology she moved to Brooklyn to further expose herself to another culture and to learn more about animation. Her work tries to rebuild the losing connection between human and nature. She has exhibited her film, “Here Comes Wild” and drawings, at Pratt Digital Arts Gallery. At present she just completed her thesis film “Her Way”. When she is not pulling all nighters doing animations, she enjoys reading, drawing and taking pictures of animals.

000.0001 H100 I go to the library for many reasons. The product of the experience seems to always be helpful or healing in some sort of way. I am really interested in 3d biology. I was struck by the defibrillator at the entrance as well so thought about the idea of checking out a heart or being able to carry a heart with yourself. I like the metaphor of this as sometimes I come to the library when I am really stressed or losing focus. The idea behind checking out an extra heart, brain or eyeballs sounds appealing to me when you need it if even just a visual pick me up. The idea is you can scan the blipped identifier (defibrillator) and then un attach the beating heart and carry it with you around the library. I will also make this model a downloadble obj after the opening in case someone wants to play with it as well.
Austra, Future Fantasy I created this playlist art for musician Austra while working at Domino Records for her Spotify. When you scan the image it will take you to interactive pieces that explain more about the album concept and has frames to take photos in. I am a big fan of Austra's work and the type of conversation they are trying to have about the world and politics thru their last record. Check out the spotify playlist here- https://play.spotify.com/user/austra_official/playlist/47wvpaIzfrTMC6Dfj98Ubm?play=true&utm_source=open.spotify.com&utm_medium=open
Direction I wanted to create a visual representation of the information exchange that occurs in the library. The idea surrounds the concept that the library is truly the centerpiece of any academic institution and provides direction above all. It is a physical representation of the exchange of information that occurs here.

Statement
My Dear Fred is a digital archive based on the augmented reality technology. By scanning the pictures in frames and entering a password (**Spoiler Alert** the name of Charls Pratt’s son, Frederick), a user can access to the letters of Charles Pratt, the founder of Pratt institute, and explore his character as a father, a dreamer, and a businessman.
A user has to gain the password by scanning the portrait of Pratt in order to activate a viewer for the letters, as if the user unlocks his deep mind by saying his most precious being in the world.
Bio
Born on June 9th, 1994, Heein Park had lived in Korea, and underwent a regular academic course. After graduating high school, he went on to Pratt Institute as an interactive art major in digital art school, and created artworks in various areas, from sculptures to coded programs, using various tools, including traditional art materials, machines, and coding software. Refusing to become a romantic artist with hyper individualism, he’d rather call himself a technician or producer with professional vision about interactivity in media. He is now working as an artist, who explores the digital media in the 21st century.

Yeji Song
Yeji Song is an Undergraduate BFA student at Pratt Institute majoring in 3D Animation; she also has a background in fine arts.
Her interests include whatever is new and innovative at the time and connects with people and popular culture. Right now she is interested in working with Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality technology, as it seems that all of the major VFX/animation studios along with social media platforms such as Facebook have been branching out into the space. She believes social media is a great and powerful platform for showcasing digital artwork in today’s society.
She has currently been working with the more technical aspects of CGI, such as 3D/Environmental Modeling, VFX, Motion Graphics, and Compositing; working in such softwares as Maya, Nuke, and the Adobe Suite.

Joy Park
People sometimes used to tell me that I have beautiful eyes. When I heard them saying this, rather than thinking about how to make my eyes more beautiful, I wondered how people could communicate and see the world with their eyes, not only as a physical tool but also as a medium to understand the world. The most appealing aspect of design for me is that it can stimulate people’s eyes. From the time I was quite young, I understood that the world as we see it varies from individual to individual; therefore, I wanted to interact with people who might have the same or different perspectives on the world as I do. I came to realize that design is the arena in which I can best fulfill my desire to use my skills in visual arts to deliver information and to communicate with people.

Artist Bio:
Bainian Chen, Animation major MFA student from Pratt Institute. Similar to most of the Chinese students, Chen grew up in a thought-imprisoned environment while he has been trying to set himself free from traditional cognitions and social pressure. He considers himself as an angry artist because he enjoys expressing the negative emotions from his illustrations and animations. He insists that light and shadow exists at the same time. We will appreciate the brightness of humanity only when we accept the darkness of it. He tries to experience as much as he can. Work hard play hard.
