their July comeback was only a few weeks away and practice had become more focused on their Japanese comeback. and sarang was still on her mission to get more familiar with her members. after practice, she had asked around and somin was the lucky member that got to hang out with her. "honestly, i think these stalls are best at night." they had just grabbed a table, smoke and steam surrounding them but it was a comfort for sarang. something grounded, the place wasn't that busy, with just the right noise level. it wasn't loud enough that she had to shout at somin for the other to hear but it wasn't pin-drop quiet where she felt she had to be careful about every single word.

their orders were placed and now it was just the waiting game and while it was normal for a bottle of soju, she opted for a coke. "between the two, for our Japanese comeback…which of the two tracks do you like more?" a simple conversation starter. "i liked the little track right off the bat but dive has been a slow earworm, I've been listening to it more."

sarang nodded her head, turning her attention to the bag that lili had. "i've had those before but i don't eat them often." a snack she wouldn't seek out but if she came across them in isle, maybe she'd toss one or two bags into her cart. "mainly because i really like croissants, so when i eat it and it's not warm and buttery, i get a little deflated but they're not bad at all. i didn't have the bag today but the chocolate flavor isn't bad either." in fact, sarang was pretty sure that she liked that one more.

"ah, it's tough but not impossible. if i get super lucky, sometimes you can find them in itaewon. rare but it happens. my most common way is to use coupang and gmarket but it is costly...and worth it."

lili takes a small, cautious bite — munching quietly akin to a judge on culinary wars. “mm, it’s a little too sweet for my liking,” which was crazy because lili loved her sweets — in moderation. “ugh, how can you bring it up and not have gifted it, now you have to bring me some next time.” a promise for a new day is always a good sign, and lili hopes sarang feels the same. it’s a manifesting thing, lili thinks, and lili loves a good manifestation — it’s how she got herself here, after all.

lili can feel her jaw go slack, as if hearing some dark, deep secret. “not impossible? you must teach me your ways, oh great one. i’ve been here for years and i still have so much to learn.” she jokes, but in all seriousness, it does feel that way sometimes, especially now. “ah, money comes and goes but takis are forever.” at least that was what health officials said in regards to the obscure digestion that occurs when one has too many takis.

"too sweet." sarang repeated, mentally taking note. something to scribble down later so she knew what not to buy for the other girl. a small smile formed on her face as she nodded her head, "sorry, i didn't think about it until now, i'll remember to keep an eye out and i'll save a bag just for you." and it wasn't an off-hand comment, it was a promise and sarang could already see that she'd be hunting down the chocolate flavor. it'd haunt her mind if she didn't.

"no problem, digging, thrifting and research are some my main skills." those skills helped her not only in school but in everyday life. "if you need to find something, i'm about 85% sure i'm your girl, it's a great pass time for me." her mind turning to the taki's, "the next time i order, i'll grab some for you as well, any other snacks you want but they're hard to get?"

sarang nodded her head at yura's suggestion, "i also planned to buy a lot so i was worried about that." they could drop it off at hotel but that would mean coming back and she didn't want to make several trips. "but i hope i can get most of it shipped to korea, which would make it easier." they'd be able to figure it out. ""but maybe we can explore the side streets before we go shopping, i brought my camera so i already have the memory part covered.

"but we can see and play it by ear." typically, sarang wasn't the play it by ear type but one piece excitement could do that to her. "i cant wait to see what it taste like and it'll be good to have someone because...i'm pretty sure i'd be tasting everything with biased taste buds." the taxi was waiting and it didn't take too long to get to the cafe by car. the closer they got the more it seemed like sarang was simply vibrating.

so much that she nearly tripped out the car getting out. a minor embarrassment that she didn't pay too much mind too. once they got inside the place sounded lively, the cafe area was much quieter while you could hear the buzz and chatter coming from the small hallway that held the actual store. sarang checked them in, handing a menu over to yura. "we can place our order now and shop, they'll buzz when it's ready."

"true! even if i left space in my suitcase in case i end up buying anything, shipping extra stuff that won't fit is a good idea. i forgot that was an option," she laughs, although part of her wonders just how much shopping they could do with the amount of free time they were given between schedules. that was always a con of coming to japan for work - it already feels like there's never enough time to do everything you want to, what more with jobs and gigs to attend.

yura nods then, agreeing with sarang's words. "after the cafe, let's explore nearby! we'll probably find places to shop as we walk around anyways, and we can walk off whatever we end up eating. i don't think i'm too picky with food so as long as the food isn't terrible, i think we'll manage between the two of us," she grins as they get into the taxi and settle in for the ride.

it was fun, watching sarang get noticeably more excited as they got closer to the cafe that even if yura wasn't in a good mood, the other's energy would've rubbed off on her. she did have a brief worry though when she spots sarang almost trip while getting out of the taxi once they had arrived, her arms shooting out to steady the younger just in case. however, she didn't actually fall down--thankfully--so yura could only let out a sigh of relief, followed by a small laugh and a warning to be careful even if the other is excited.

the one piece cafe and the nearby areas were as busy as yura expected it might be but at least the cafe portion was more chill so she had no complaints, and let sarang handle things. once she has the menu in her hands, she looks over the offerings before turning her attention to sarang. "what are you thinking of getting? we could order different dishes to share but i definitely want to get some kind of dessert... do they have a parfait or something?"

one some level sarang heard yura's words about walking around and she blindly nodded, her mind focused on what was to come. she did stop at the warning, "normally, i'm a bit more careful but....." she trailed off, when it came to one piece. sarang couldn't find a way to help herself.

sarang turned her attention back to the menu, scanning for something yura might be interested in. "i think this might work." it looked like it would be a bit more of yura's taste but she'd planned on giving more options. "and this! don't worry about not finishing it, everything is one me today." just as she spoke, a staff member made their way over. sarang wasted no time in listing everything she wanted. she wasn't sure if she would finish it herself but she wasn't sure when she'd have the chance again. "at least two these i've had at one piece cafe back home so i want to compare." the staff member also left a buzzer with them, it'd light up once the order was ready.

that only meant one thing, it was time to explore the cafe. this time she focused on not rushing, forcing herself to walk at a moderate pace with yura by her side. "if you see me buying six of something, please...stop me. i might not be able to stop myself."

every month, every comeback or new last, sarang felt like she was growing closer and closer to her group-mates. she wasn't as nervous being around them, when she wanted to ask for help, she started to feel less and less like a burden. and she owed it to things like this, simply hanging out together. "i shouldn't be here too long." sarang was getting prepped to leave the dorm, she wanted to go to the one of the clothing markets. on her way out, she asked somin if she wanted to come along and the other actually said yes.

"i'm planning on buying some clothes to work on my sewing." and there was a lot she could get for cheap. "at the other end of the, there is this little stationary store i like to shop at for my scrap-booking." sarang forced herself to slow down, feeling like her words were heading into rambling territory. "and i always end get from this little stall…if they're around today. they're not always open but i always go and look."

"i haven't been to a market in ages," she comments, pleased that she had been invited along for this little outing. usually, despite veering more towards being an extrovert than an introvert most days, she would opt to stay in to catch up on her gaming. she doesn't get to do very much during their busiest months, so she usually tries to play when she has time off but she would never say no to going out if it's with a friend. she waves off sarang's words of being quick, wanting both to let the other crystallis member take her time and also look around herself.

somin nods as they walks along, pausing to touch a shirt or something every once and a while, pleased. she hadn't really had any plans to buy anything when she had been first invited, but the possibility of her walking away with nothing is diminishing every second they walk. "oh, i love stationary," she says, nodding and clapping her hands together. "i don't use any, really, since we're like mostly digital right? but i love stickers a lot."

sarang nodded her head, in general getting to the market was hard and even more if you considered the schedule they had as idols. for sarang though, she was willing to forsake some other activities to slip out and do this. "it's fun, you never know what you'll find or what you'll see." as she spoke, sarang stopped at a stall that had a few shirts with what could be consider wacky designs. "one time, i came in and saw a couple break up, by the time i circled the place, they were back together. and it sound might sound simple but the argument they had was explosive. i really thought that was the end." still, love or whatever it was found a way.

after selecting a few, she waved over the owner that gave a gesture one second. "true and digital scrapbooking is its own fun, but there is something about cutting the pictures and placing the stickers yourself." the entire process was calming, "i've even done them for the group, starting from when i had my debut. i have one for the different era's and then overall...once, i get far enough in my career, it'd be great to take at the past."

"that being said, i did bring some of my favorites, mostly japanese snacks." she opened that bag, "you probably know about pocky but these are some of my favorite flavors. i have some mochi here, assorted flavors and seaweed snacks and senbei....and taki's, if you want a chip in that's spicy. i first tried them when went to the states but they're harder to get here."

health conscious due to a almond mom grandma mentality, lili had never really partaken in snacks — often a smoke as you go kind of person, but she wasn’t opposed to trying. what was the saying — life was all about trying out new experiences? “hm,” she hums, gathering her bearings as she runs a scattered gaze among the treats sarang has brought before pinking up a a light blue bag with a croissant plastered across the plastic wrapping. “salt bread snack?” she tugs at the seams until it breaks, taking a small, curious sniff of the contents before picking one from the bottom of the bag.

“have you tried these before?” she asks whilst turning the bag over to sarang. lili nods, eyes suddenly lighting up as sarang brings up takis — “wait, how did you get your hands on takis! it’s like a myth here, i can never find them at the western aisles.”

she’d never been ‘there’s no i in team’ — she, however, had always been the ‘but there is an i in win’ sort of person. acclimating to a group setting was going to be an uphill battle, lili knows this, but seeing sarang breaching the gap helped in ways lili couldn’t put into words. being the new kid on the block was nothing new and usually lili acted pretty briskly because of it. this was neither the time nor place to reveal her bad temperament so she tries to keep that pristine smile in place, shrugging off her negative nancies that were plaguing her and tried to look on the brighter side of things.

“thank you,” and she means it, the gratitude swarming her in a wave of relief suddenly at the prospect that she wasn’t alone in this new journey she had embarked on. “truly a lifesaver, i have many questions but we can save that for day 2. first let’s settle, what snacks have you brought me? any favorites of yours you’d like to introduce me to?”

while yura wasn't personally that interested in one piece, there were some people in her life who were so she wasn't actually opposed to visiting the pop-up cafe since she might end up finding gifts to buy for them. plus, sarang was a fan and since she didn't have any plans in particular anyways, she figured tagging along wouldn't hurt; she liked doing things with her group members so this worked out for her.

"walking around the streets of japan is fun honestly, especially in tokyo! there's always something to look at," she laughs as the elevator takes them down to the lobby so they could grab their taxi, before frowning a little. "but during the day like this when it's busiest is too risky. maybe if we find a side street or area that's not as crowded, it'll be fine to explore a bit more? we could even take photos as memories of this trip even if we're here for work!"

it's not long before the elevator lets out a ding, signaling their arrival at their destination, and the doors open to reveal the lobby of the hotel they're staying at this time. "i feel like you keep treating me to meals," she teases as she exits and walks towards the entrance. "but i am interested to try out the food. people tend to say the food at themed cafes and stuff aren't that good but it makes me curious to try myself. plus, i'd like to take a look at the shop and see if there's any gifts to buy - so don't worry!" yura grins and approaches their taxi, opening the door for sarang to slide into the car first. "let's just have fun and see what happens!"

lili was in the middle of a decorating crisis when a knock interrupts her thoughts. “oh thank god,” a welcome disruption as she removes her palm from her forehead and turns away from the wall in her room that lay two identical shades of burgundy of which she wanted her room painted — they were different hues, of which she was absolutely, positively sure of — but staring at them for the last half hour was beginning to make her head ache and the fumes from the drying paint did not make it any better. with a sigh, she departs for the front door, swinging it open without even glancing at the lcd screen beside it to see who had come.

“ah, we love a welcome!” a smile instantly adorns her face, rushing to welcome the girl inside; anything to keep her from staring at her unpainted walls and the litter of boxes she had yet to unpack. “as you can see, we have yet to move in — but please, make yourself at home!”

“thanks,” lili bumps her shoulder affectionately against the other’s before closing the front door and helping with the drinks that other had carried over. “i’m honestly relieved that i know at least someone in the group. you can save me this time — i'm drowning.” an exaggeration but it sure felt like it from the amount of boxes the movers had shoved into this place. she jokes as she sets the drinks down and goes to retrieve some glasses and ice. “i’m still in the water, maybe you can shove a life vest my way or something.”

"no worries." sarang replied easily, while she was quit to unpack. sarang knew her efficiency was more of a strange quirk. "if you need help, just let me know." it was an honest offer and sarang didn't mind helping out, it would give them time to bond. lili was right, they did know each other but not well enough. it still wasn't a lie that she felt better having someone new in the group. it was grounding in a way. when lili returned with the drinks and ice, sarang was setting out the snacks she had grabbed.

"i'll help you however i can, with moving and the group." she wasn't sure if lili was seriously drowning in anything or the other girl was teasing. either way, she was serious in her address. "while i did move in quickly, i'm still getting a handle on the group myself but i'll do whatever i can to help you. and if i don't have the answer, i'll find someone who does!"

Sarang nodded in response, honestly she felt the same way. she loved being in front of the fans and she loved performing in front of them. the performances at fan-meets weren’t as serious and allowed more fun but she still loved it. dressing up and finding fansites that took photos later on. it was something she had seriously waited for and sarang was determined to enjoy every bit of it. the wait was worth it, “it does make me happy that I chose give it a little more time.” and if she hadn’t made it through the debut round, well it was something sarang didn’t want to think too heavily about. it was better to focus on the present then bring herself down with the what ifs. now she was apart of a debut group, she was promoting and finally achieved the idol dream that she always dreamed of. her head nod was more aggressive the second time around, “soon enough, we’ll be someone’s sunbae and we’ll be able to tell them that it was worth it as well.” even that was a pleasurable thought, at some point she’d be able to talk about her story and journey to debut and maybe, hopefully help some hopefuls keep up the hope.

it all sounds so stupid now, but when sori’s brother debuted, sori doubted herself. she’d been in legacy longer, she used to feel like she deserved to debut first, then, when he debuted, she questioned herself and her abilities. how could someone with less training debut before her? she became insecure about herself and her skills, and she wondered if she would ever debut, part of her wanted to give up, current sori is very happy she didn’t do that.

“ah sunbae… it sounds so strange, but i guess, eventually we’ll be called that, won’t we?” she looks at sarang “i hope we have a lot of years ahead of us as idols” she looks back at everything else, sometimes it still feels awkward to stare at sarang for too long. “do you have any goals, now that you debuted? before debuting, all i wanted was to debut, now i can have proper goals, like getting better at variety, learning an instrument and such” she wants to look back at sarang, but she doesn’t.

“I think I’ll do a bit of a double take, it wouldn’t hit for a while.” In the future when she would be considered a sunbae, giving her own words of advice. At the wish sarang nodded her head, she wasn’t sure how long her career would be but she wanted it to be long. There wasn’t a desire for explosive popularity either, she wanted stability. A career that could carry her and allow we to explore her craft.

At the mention of goals, she nodded her head vigorously. “I was the same as you. I didn’t care about anything other than debuting. It’s still that way now to be fair.” Focus all of her energy on being a worthy member of her group, but there were still personal goals. “I want to write…produce for the group. Mainly because our sound and style is so different from my personal one. It be a creative challenge to try and balance my own color and the groups color. And then far in the future.” Something she barely dared to think about now, “a solo debut to show off that sides of me and acting. I figure I should put the degree to some use at some point.” But it felt a little too ambitious to talk about now.

”what about you?”

between kcon and their general promotions in japan, sarang made sure to travel with two extra suite cases. she knew she'd bringing back some rare one piece related finds. there was also another place she wanted to visit and the dates overlapped perfectly. apart of being in a group was naturally bonding with her members, that's how she managed to rope yura into coming to the cafe with her. there was a pop-up cafe, paired with a large store that sarang was sure would host most of her rare finds.

they had just enough down-time to be able to explore without feeling rushed for the day. they had just stepped into the elevator when her let out a small beep, "it looks like our taxi just arrived, i thought walking would be fun…but i wasn't sure if it would be safe." she hadn't considered herself famous and well known despite her group. "and we'll need it on the way back." not that sarang had an issue with a little exploring given enough courage and dressing up but she planned on doing some serious shopping.

"and the entire trip is on me, whatever you want." sarang was pretty sure that yura wasn't as die-hard about the one piece series as her but there was the cafe. "i've heard good things about the cafe though." despite how in love she was, sarang really wanted to her best to make sure yura enjoyed herself.

sarnag sat on the floor as she packed up her small bag, the group had just finished practicing for their japanese comeback. they were still dancing to the demo and there had been a chance to go over both songs. lili and yura left not to long ago. somin had offered to stay behind with her as sarang had a slight move she wanted to perfect. now the two were wrapping up, "thanks again, for staying behind."

somin didn't have to and sarang appreciated it. she also didn't want the silence to linger. sarang didn't hate silence but she still wanted to push herself. "between the two songs, which do you like more?" she had been listening to the demo's. "i think i like the entire mood of yoake but i like chorus of dive more. it sticks with you."

sarang had been around for a while but it felt nice to have new member. everyone experienced it once but it felt good to experience it in real time with someone so, sarang found herself heading over to lili's unit with a few snacks and drinks in hand. one, it was good to push herself, bonding wouldn't help if she only interacted with her member when it came to work. two, things were made bit easier because of the fact that they trained together. sarang wouldn't call them close but they weren't strangers either. she could even member lili witnessing her bathroom break down, something she pointedly tried to forget.

the door opened after a few knocks and sarang entered with a bow. it didn't seem like seungah was around but she had brought enough. the door closed behind her and sarang turned to face the other girls, holding up her offering. "this is my official welcome to the group. i'm pretty new myself but i'll try and help anyway, i can." she was honest, sarang wasn't really sure how she could be of help but she would try her best.

"i can also admit, it feels good to have someone new."

"sounds like you'd like a promotion full of fan-meets." sarang couldn't deny that the idea was appealing. one the main reasons she became an idol was to see her fans. to feel that love that she was lacking. maybe it wasn't the best place to look for it but sarang liked to think she knew how to walk the balance. but she wouldn't turn down any chance to meet the fans in person more often. especially, realizing she had fans that were looking for her. "its surreal. all of the things i watched on tv and then watching our seniors." one day she wanted that to be her and now here she was. "whenever we're filming content, i just remind myself that i'm really doing this." a fond smile formed on her face. she could finally look back and tell the past sarang that she was going to achieve her dream. "we have, now can i feel confident in telling myself that i should continue on, just hold out a little later and i'll debut."

she nods “it would be enjoyable to see the fans more often”. sori hadn’t expected she would care this much about her fans, she’d always just wanted to be an idol for dance, but the fans made it all so much more enjoyable. they truly kept her going, especially when it felt like everything stood still and she wasn’t improving. it was comforting to see and hear fans, hear the whys of why they like her.

“yeah it’s like.. we used to imagine ourselves being here, and now… we’re actually here” she bites her lip. “it honestly felt like it took forever to debut” she chuckles “but now i think the waiting was worth it” she nods. “all of this? it’s more than what i could’ve wished for” she turns to look at sarang.

“i’m glad we both managed to debut, that neither of us gave up”.

the wait was worth it, “it does make me happy that I chose give it a little more time.” and if she hadn’t made it through the debut round, well it was something sarang didn’t want to think too heavily about. it was better to focus on the present then bring herself down with the what ifs. now she was apart of a debut group, she was promoting and finally achieved the idol dream that she always dreamed of.

her head nod was more aggressive the second time around, “soon enough, we’ll be someone’s sunbae and we’ll be able to tell them that it was worth it as well.” even that was a pleasurable thought, at some point she’d be able to talk about her story and journey to debut and maybe, hopefully help some hopefuls keep up the hope.

while yura would say she hasn't helped someone design clothes before--like this, anyways, where she's used to model the pieces being worked on--she has done enough fittings to be used to standing for periods of time or moving as needed so the designer or stylist can see how the clothes look on a person. however, modeling for a fellow member was a new experience but not one yura finds herself disliking. it's fun, honestly, and it's interesting watching sarang go through the process because it's something yura couldn't do so it was cool watching the other.

"no problem at all, i'm happy to help," she grins once sarang has returned from picking up something, the piece she was just wearing already placed neatly on the couch next to where she was sitting. aside from being the leader now and wanting to ensure sarang was getting used to being in crystallis out of personal responsibility, she would help any of her members at any time if they asked - no matter what it was.

"what'd you get?" yura looks over at the kitchen, wondering what the younger had ordered before she turns back around to look at sarang, eyes perking up and smile growing wider. "really? i'll gratefully accept the free meal then," she laughs then stands up from the couch and stretches her arms out, already moving to head to the kitchen. "i didn't do much though so i can at least help you bring everything here! i want to see what drinks there are anyways."

sarang nodded, having set down the food as she looked for extra plates. most of it came in containers anyway but it wouldn't hurt to have extra of anything. "feel free to drink anything you want in the fridge and in that cupboard below are some bottles of water if you wanted something more room temperature." mainly water because other drinks rarely tasted good being lukewarm. "i also have some of those drink infusion packets." endless options on her part.

finally, settled on a stack and reached to grab the bags. "you know, most of the normal staples." sarang wasn't sure of everything yura did and didn't eat, so safe bets were placed. "naengmyeon, kimchi jjigae, kimbap, chicken and bingsoo for something sweet." It might've sounded like a lot but whatever they didn't eat, she could save for later.

"at the very least, i won't have to cook for the rest of the week.

sarang had just finished packing up the major parts of her sewing kit when her phone alerted her that the take-out arrived. "i'll be right back, you can just drop that piece on the couch." the words were barely out of her mouth as slipped on her slippers and made her way out the door. there wasn't any logical reason to rush but sarang hated the feeling of someone waiting on her. once she was back in their dorm, she went right to the kitchen. setting everything down before returning to the living room to clear up the rest. "thank you for being my living mannequin again." truthfully, sarang didn't need a living person to work on her sewing designs it was moreso an attempt to spend more time with her members.

effort had to be put forth on her side and she wanted to do something that was comfortable. it was her luck that yura actually agreed. once the kit was cleaned up sarang opened a larger container, putting the unfinished pieces away to work on later. "and since you helped me out, it's only right that i treat you to a meal." it seemed like a fun process but there was a lot of just being still, "what would you like to drink? i'll grab it while i grab the plates and the food."
