The corners of his mouth downturn without any effort. The idea sounds better in theory than reality, and when Sungchan puts it out in a timeline, it's evident. He needs some semblance of sleep. "I think you're right. It's not like our bodies could fuel ourselves without sleep or food. Although I've heard some training regimes at some other companies could go crazy. Something about... not sleeping for days." He hadn't heard anything too extreme here yet, but that wasn't to say it didn't happen.
"It's an improvement - I'm not nearly as repulsed by nature as before. I know, I know, it's part of the role but man." His eyes widen as he glances upwards at Sungchan before fidgeting a bit with his wrists. "Pros and cons to everything when the job comes as a package deal with also being an entertainer, vlogger, salesman, model... everything in one." He wouldn't vlog out of his own volition, he's sure. But never say never. Danny's learned that now, especially after he'd just filmed Behind the Spotlight. "I suppose it depends on how the audience or coach feels. Sometimes I can be too rehearsed and they might prefer your more smooth and natural dance moves. Power isn't always the most important thing about dance," he says encouragingly.
"It doesn't have to be my most ideal position but at this time in my training, I think it's the most natural, y'know? Though that'd be like... if we even had a say or choice. Which I don't think we... do?" He looks around, as if people could hear him other than Sungchan.
sungchan can't help but smile a little at the frown on danny's face, not because he was frowning but simply because he looked like a cute little toddler. a sound of disagreement falls from him as he shakes his head, running a hand through his hair to push the strands away from his face. "i don't get how they expect trainees and idols to be in their best condition if they're constantly pushing them that much with no sleep and strict diets. i get that it's a competitive industry, but no one will be at their best on 2 hours sleep after 48 hours and little food." sungchan says, admits even as he shakes his head. it's something he feels rather strongly about, admittedly.
"everything in one, you'll get there. who knows, you might become the best vlogger in the industry?" sungchan throws out the idea, cheeky grin on his face. he has faith in danny, more than the average person probably does, but that comes with the territory of knowing each other for so long. call him danny's little cheerleader.
his head tilts, shocked. "you think? i think your moves always look good, like.. definite practiced and precise whereas sometimes i look a little off. the best way i can describe it? i was more fluid when i was with my dance team before i became an idol, but i guess the different training shows there. it's a work in progress."
he smiles at danny's encouragement, shuffling over across the floor until he's in the youngers space and wraps his arms around him. "our little cutie danny," sungchan grins again, squeezing him tightly. "i don't think we really get a say, they look more at our strong skills. you'll be the dancer, i'll be the vocalist."
solo
there was something about sunsets that sungchan loved.
he wasn't entirely sure what it was, but the feeling of the sun slowly setting, the sign that the day was ending and another one would be approaching, it was all something that filled him with a sense of comfort.
but here he was, currently at the entrance of the legacy company building, standing like he was waiting for something. like a signal.
LEO: freak alarm | debut show
Ever since the mention of the participation in the dance concert being a possibility, and with Oneart Studio of all things, Danny feels like he's put himself into overdrive for the opportunity. He doesn't want to miss this. Sipping on his bottle of water, he tips his head at the question, towards Sungchan. His senses feel like they're on fire. Maybe that's simply his limbs calling out to him, after the adrenaline wanes. Surely he's not losing his mind.
"Oh, living the dream," Danny says idly, before catching that what he said might come across as sarcastic. "It's nice to be able to focus on dance, considering that's what I enjoy the most. This is a leap from the last set of... vlogging and variety workshops for sure." He cracks a smile at Sungchan, patting the other's knee at the other's heavy breathing. Maybe they ought to run some laps later, to keep up with the stamina and momentum... and he bursts out laughing when his friend starfishes on the ground.
"Oh you and I both know that I want to participate. I'd be devastated if I couldn't. Screw all the acting cameo opportunities or... variety show pop-ups, I want to do this!" He nods eagerly as he prods Sungchan in the leg again. "Looks like we should go for some morning runs tomorrow to get you back in the swing of things. How's that sound for a fun plan? I'm joking. I do miss sleeping in though."
sungchan can't help but laugh a little at the sight of danny tilting his head like a little puppy, or bunny, or really, anything that was cute when they would tilt their head. if sungchan felt like his legs would fall off, he could only imagine how danny was feeling. he shakes his head in amusement at the younger, hand raising to to push his hair off his face. there was nothing worse than feeling his hair stuck to his forehead from pure sweat.
"you think you feel a little better with vlogging and cameras now?" sungchan questions, his tone light but still curious. the corners of his lips curl upwards into a small smile as danny pats his knee and the sound of his laughter filling the atmosphere around them. "i feel like i need to put some more power into my moves, especially if i'm standing next to you. maybe you'll have to be my personal dance teacher or something." it's a tease, but one that sungchan says as a compliment.
"you are an amazing dancer," he reassures, sending another soft smile in danny's direction. "that'd be your ideal position? a dancer?" sungchan chuckles softly, pushing himself up into a sitting position when danny mentions morning runs. "morning runs before practice would mean we'd be up at like.. 4 in the morning. i'd rather the extra hour or however long asleep in bed."

dance, dance.
starring: @lgcdanny
now, dancing was something sungchan was pretty versed in. he was part of a dance cover group back in the past, he had the talent, but he for sure wasn't as amazing as some of the others in the company. but right now, sungchan just knew he was heavily low on stamina.
"danny," he breathes out, hands clasped around his water bottle and breathing heavily. "how is it going for you?" he asks, letting himself settle on the ground with his legs stretched out, gaze cast to the younger.
he waits a few moments, taking his time to catch his breath as he uses the bottom of his shirt to wipe his face. "the concert, what do you think? do you wanna join it?" sungchan asks, curiosity evident in his voice as he flops completely flat, head falling to the side so he's able to see danny still.
akio leans back against the wall with his arms crossed, a small smile tugging at his lips. βyou already had me at food, honestly, how could i refuse?β he says teasingly. he always enjoys spending time with friends, especially now that he can rarely do so in person. not only because of his own schedule, but because theyβre generally all busy. now that he finds himself here with someone he used to train with often, the space feels familiar and warm.Β
he pushes himself off the wall and glances at sungchanβs reflection in the mirror. βalright, show me what youβve got then! iβll watch and see if i can help.β thatβs what they used to do as trainees and he doesnβt intend on acting differently now. constructive feedback is how you grow, how you become an even better performer. βiβll be honest, promise.β he assures him with a short nod. he pauses after, before grinning. βi mean, unless you want delusional feedback. since youβre buying the food, let me adjust to your needs.β heβs not serious, obviously.
sungchan shakes his head, rolling his eyes in amusement at the other. of course he'd be drawn in at the mention of food. honestly though, he understood, he'd be the same if he was in akio's position. it had been a while since sungchan was able to catch his now idol friend like this, since all of their schedules are completely different time wise. it made it hard, but those times where he could catch up with them β he was thankful for.
since he was struggling, he knew he needed the help, and sungchan wasn't one to really deny that or lie to himself. there was nothing wrong with needing some help, so when it came to this part of the choreography, who better to ask than the dance machine himself? "honest feedback only, please! you know i'd buy you food anyway." when akio instructs him to start the routine, sungchan nods, getting into position and when the music starts, he begins the routine. and even while dancing to it, he still felt like something was missing, like something wasn't right. "see? there's something missing, right?"
@LGCENT JUST POSTED A PHOTO!
2025.12.15
happy 24th birthday, son sungchan!
#lgctrainees #lgcent #sonsungchan #lgcbirthday
He shoots Sungchan a look, but realizes that it's best to be audible so it can be recorded, but the expression remains. "I suppose if we can go halves. But agreeing to this feels wrong, somehow. Selling our own merch. That feels scandalous, actually..." He's seem some viral posts that went around of PDs and people selling 'gifted albums' and that never went down smoothly. At Sungchan's tone turning more sombre, he skips over responding to that for now and benches that portion of the chat for off camera later.
"Same difference! Things I can't voice aloud. It'd be like... asking you to choose a favourite character that you...nevermind, I don't think there's an equivalent in the form of a video game." Considering it'd been an easier option selecting a favourite character or book series, it was simply not comparable. "But that's just it, you can't pick only one." Danny wags his finger, mock glaring at the camera and Sungchan in tandem.
"Maybe I am trying to set you up. If it's isn't TikTok, you will surprise me, but I'm more interested in the number of hours." he cackles, pulling up his phone app to check. "Actually... Good guess, but no. What would I even do on a book app for that long, oh my God. I don't know how I managed it but I found myself on Pinterest and YouTube the most. I always fall into trap of review videos or ASMR videos. I heard people either love or hate ASMR but I looooove the peaceful ones, with like... those weird scratchy noises. Not so much the eating noises, that I can live without." They exchange a look. "Don't tell me, you like those?"
"we can spend the money on something non-scandalous, like.. giving to a charity or something?" sungchan mentions, casting a glance at danny. "so it's not like it'll turn out into something, since the money would go somewhere meaningfulβ i was just playing, i'd keep your photocards." sungchan grins cheekily, a small chuckle slipping past his lips.
he's appreciative that danny doesn't mention the sudden sombre tone in his voice, like he knew and understood that it wasn't something to prod more at. his eyes quite literally say an unspoken 'thank you' toward the younger. "go on, who's your favorite video game character? i think mine would be leon kennedy from resident evil. or ada, she's pretty cool." sungchan nods his head, like he's agreeing with himself despite him being the one who said it. "maybe you're more indecisive than i am." it's a playful poke, but one that sits lightly in the atmosphere around them.
"it's honestly probably tiktok, i doom scroll too much at night sometimes and before i know it, it's 2am. the number? you're proving to be more sneaky as the days go past." sungchan shakes his head in amusement, pulling his phone out from his pocket. "fun fact, i don't really listen to asmr much. maybe like, piano sleep videos on youtube but not much. i really don't like the eating ones either, but sometimes i see them on tiktok and get sucked in for a few seconds.. i don't know why it happens, i don't even like watching them."
Danny bursts into a quiet laught at the little comments that were fitting for 'cuts'. "It's fine when there's editing, but not for a live live. Oh... I should've stayed silent and let you keep talking," he smacks his mouth closed while the other continues with the recording, glancing back up at Sungchan as this was clearly derailing from the smooth attempt. Test run, yes. Calming down from the momentary distraction, he sombres at the thought of debuting together or separately, each with its own daunting directions. "Fine, fine, we'll do trades when the time comes."
"Good thing technology has come a long way and we can leave voice clips too. I heard back in the day you could leave voice messages but then it'd run out of time after 30 or 60 seconds, and then it'd just be done? That's what my mom said..." Way before their time, but it's strange to think about how far technology has come in a short time. That being said, his fond smile slips off his face at the tables being turned, but it made sense for him to have some practice too, on a topic he was able to talk more easily about. "Ehmm."
Eyeing the camera with a pregnant pause, Danny does a slight sniff as he pretends the camera isn't there as it sits in Sungchan's hands. "I tend to like shorter books. Contemporary literary fiction is one of my favourite genre, and there's many good ones translated into English or Korean. But I sometimes find myself losing focus with books longer than 300 pages because I don't have that much time to read, especially between previously being a student... and then training too. It's hard to find time in the day and I've begun prioritizing sleep instead," he says a little lazily, his face creasing into a slow grin. "But asking me to pick a favourite wouldn't be fair on the spot like this! That's like telling a parent to choose their favourite child," but he does relent some information with a low whisper afterwards. "I have been reading a lot of Sayaka Murata and Han Kang's works though."
He's pretty sure that he didn't do as much eye contact with the camera lens, which isn't the end of the universe. It was much more comfortable talking to the wall, or to Sungchan directly instead, and he's not sure if it's going against the grain here with the workshop. "Gosh, I could pick a more interesting hobby, hn? But it keeps my screen-time down. Speaking of, should we compare our phone screen-times?"
sungchan chuckles at danny's comment about staying silent, shaking his head fondly. "you can talk whenever you want too, it's like we're having a conversation, right? it made you reply, so it's working." sungchan responds, shooting him a brief finger gun. honestly, this whole camera thing was pretty easy, but there were some ways in which is was a little awkward. "trades? if you give me more than one of your photocards, would you hate me if i sold it? we can go halves on whatever it sells for." it's just a joke, a little tease, but one to get danny to bite and get him speaking a bit more.
"really? i guess in a way, that was probably really nice back then too though. you can keep voice clips and listen to them whenever you want, phone calls.. you can't really replay those the same way." sungchan says, a slightly sombre tone to his voice as the realisation settles.
a smirk spreads across sungchan's face at the point of view change, his other hand raising to shoot danny a thumbs up. he chuckles lightly as the other avoids the gaze of the camera, instead choosing to alternate between the wall and sungchan himself. "yeah, it's kind of hard sometimes to find time for our hobbies on top of training and everything. sometimes we choose to lose sleep for our hobbies, but sometimes we give less time to our hobbies to look after ourselves physically too." it was another subtle reminder that there had to be an even balance between personal lives and trainee life, or else, in sungchan's mind - he can't work to the best of his ability. "well, i'm not asking you who your favorite child is, am i?" he teases lightly, laughter spilling and filling the room as danny lowly whispers the authors.
"you want to see my screen time? you're just trying to set me up here, right? you know mine is probably tiktok. what's yours? book apps?"

A sheepish, shy laugh escapes, but it is true. The only reason why he actually pops up in frame nowadays is due to his friends basically schooling him into it. "Sure, whatever you say. And then people wonder why some idols only see the same fan every video call session. Pure luck," Danny replies with a lilt to his voice, because he swears he recalls reading about an article where the same fan was at one idol's physical and virtual fanmeets every time. ( They must own a fansite, there's no way otherwise..? ) "The same luck that comes with trying to pull your bias' card in an album. One out of.... however many chances. You better give me your cards in the future. Ssigned, pretty please."
"That can be my topic later if we must," Danny mumbles despite wishing he hadn't opened that can of worms, though it's probably audible from where he is behind the recording, but it's probably something he could ramble on about. He couldn't wait until Halloween was over and it moved into the Christmas season. Extremely thankful at Sungchan taking ahold of the vlog session ahead, he varies from glancing at the camera plane but mostly finds it easier to actually look at Sungchan while they are 'technically holding a conversation' - as long as the camera was in focus. Most of these were things he already knew, but it's nice to hear about again, reinforcing the fact and confirmation that yes! They knew eachother well enough despite the big lapse of time in between. "I couldn't imagine the long distance and time difference. You're doing well," he comments, both in regards to the vlog flow but mainly towards Sungchan's separation from his family. "And yes! I agree with the books. I am also a big fan of rereading but, rereading also takes away from reading a new book. It's a difficult choice." There were mental notes that he'd share with Sungchan later but it was probably things that the other already knew - natural in front of the camera, especially with his years of being in front of it, and then some. Truthfully, it should probably be flipped onto him so he could get more practice in. Eugh.
"well, money and a bit of luck, if we're being honest." sungchan responds, shooting danny a half smile, half smirk. "wait, did th camera catch that?" his eyes widen for a few moments before he laughs, shaking his head and waving his hands. "okay, okay, it's fine. it's just a test, we're not releasing this or anything." the comment about giving him his signed photocards in the future when he debuts has sungchan shooting danny an unspoken 'if i debut, you're debuting with me' look. "only if you give me your signed ones too. we're debuting together, you just have to think positive."
even from behind the camera, sungchan can hear the little mumble and it has him grinning in amusement, the urge to reach out past the camera and pinch danny's cheeks like he was a mother, or like a god obsessed fan on twitter.
he nods at danny's mention about the time zone differences and how hard it was, and honestly, it was. "it is hard, but part of me is sort of used to it now? but it's hard to find the time in my day where they're free and it's not stupid o'clock for me or the other way around, but sometimes those sacrifices are ones i make just to catch up with them, you know?" for that moment, sungchan forgets about the camera, instead focusing his gaze on danny as he talks about his family, small smile tugging on the corners of his lips. he doesn't directly respond with a thank you, but he sends danny a smile that says enough without him using those words.
the moment books are mentioned and danny's speaking, sungchan decides to take it onto himself to shuffle closer to grab the camera from danny's hand, turning it around onto the younger. "this is good, alright, tell me more about books. what's your favorite genre? you must have a favorite book too, right?"
"FaceTime is already weird enough, you must understand. But I got used to that too." No doubt, with the help of his friends and family. But initially, he kind of hated it, preferring to close his eyes and talk on the phone without any eyes on him. "It will come with time and experience," like everything else. Danny makes a small face. "Gosh, I suppose this is necessary. Being able to react on the spot, and play the part naturally. Those fan video calls are insanely expensive to get into, right? Imagine not being entertaining for that whole minute or however long those are." Hosting and variety weren't quite the same, but similar enough. Camera in your face, play the part, play it cool. Being paired up was probably disadvantageous to Sungchan because he was learning from him, and not the other way around. He gets to be a little greedy here, and that's alright - Danny's already a step out of his comfort zone, so in a way, a bit of a safety net is okay, especially in this workshop setting.... yea!
"That's the idea," he replies while nodding with enthusiasm, the footage a little shaky already. Well, this wasn't actually going anywhere, but probably going to be a keepsake for themselves. His lips purse before he catches Sungchan's line of vision, blooming into a grin. "Something fun like... the things that you can't live without in life.. Or... Bucket list. Or, the things that keep you up at night after watching a horrible horror movie," he hates those, hates with a capital H. "Scratch that last one. It's much better if it's about things we enjoy." Happiness and contentment is a good look on him. "We can have a conversation, if that's how it pans out but I know you're also good at holding one on your own," laughing quietly at that, he didn't mean it as backhanded, he swears. It's a great contrast for him when he couldn't quite get the words out.
"yeah, the amount of times you've answered my facetime calls and all i can see is either your wall or half of your face." sungchan replies with a playful grin. he knew danny found it a little awkward, but he still appreciated when he answered his video calls regardless. "yeah they are, i've heard of people spending hundreds to get into them and even then, sometimes they don't get in. i think it's a mix of how many albums you guy and pure luck. i've heard someone get into one before with just six albums, it's possible." he'd seen a few things around on twitter and instagram, but he himself had never attempted for a fansign, so sungchan didn't have that experience. his only experience was filming dance covers and tiktoks.
a small chuckle falls from sungchan as danny nods with enthusiasm, shaking his head fondly. "things that keep me up at night after a horrible horror movie? shouldn't that be more reserved for you?" it's playful, all in a jokey way, but it's his attempt at making danny feel a little more at ease. he could see the way the camera in his hand shakes slightly. "okay, okay, i'll start with things that i can't live without." he claps his hands lightly, moving closer into frame as he settles down into a sitting position. "okay, first thing first, i can't live without my phone. i think most people our age these days can't live without it too though, but i check it first thing in the morning everyday too. usually to see if my parents messaged me or anything since the time difference makes it hard to talk sometimes." he holds his phone up toward the camera before dropping it into his lap, stretching his legs out. "i can't live without books either, i heard a saying once, i can't remember exactly what it was but it was something like a book is a whole different world in the palm of your hand, and honestly, i think that's true when you find books you really like and get stuck into."
go in blind @lgcsungchan
The act of pretending to be entertaining, versus being genuinely entertaining - he wonders if it will be obvious. He doesn't fancy himself as a good actor, so Danny's going to have to will himself to be 'naturally funny and charming', something that has him grimacing already before the camera is even on. "I feel like I'm making fun of myself. I feel so obvious and not genuine," he whines, having pressed the cellphone turned to self-camera as a vlog for all of 3 seconds before turning off. "I feel ridiculous. How do all those vloggers make it look so easy?" It's early into their workshops so the younger trainee doesn't feel nearly as bad, knowing he had a few weeks to improve. But rough beginnings, man. Rough.
"Maybe if I filmed you instead, or vice versa, it might come across more natural... like we're actually having a conversation. Or if... we set it there and did v-lives like our sunbaes?" It would help if they had a meal in front of them, but Danny would probably distract himself with the meal rather than talking. Scratch that, it's better they didn't have props. But this felt a lot like doing a presentation in front of a classroom of students. However, if it had been a presentation, he would have prepared material. Yet sound rehearsed. This truly was a skill set they needed to learn. "How about... you give it a shot first? After all, you're probably more of a natural than me. You do have one more year under your belt of training than me, after all," smiling cheekily at Sungchan, turning the phone onto the other without much warning, already filming a video.
"And look at that, our shining star of the day, Son Sungchannnn!"
sungchan snorts at danny's comment, lifting his head to look at the younger. "it's just because you're not used to being in front of a camera, let alone record yourself talking to it." he says, pushing himself up from the floor to walk over toward danny. sungchan feels for him, since he knows that danny was more of a quiet and reserved person, so the idea of talking to a camera so confidently was probably something that was making him shiver in his skin. for sungchan, sure, it felt a little weird, but he didn't feel entirely awkward about it. perhaps it was the whole day and age thing, people his age were more accustomed to cameras and recording themselves. he'd been a little tiktok sensation at one point in the past too, so standing in front of a camera was easy work for him. but this was different. now, he had to record a vlog, and that was something he honestly hadn't really done before.
"so, you want to record me while we have a conversation?" sungchan questions, pushing his hair away from his face as he grins at danny, teasing tone to his words. he could hear danny's mind running at full speed right now, trying to figure out ways to practice without feeling entirely awkward and wanting to crawl away to a safety area. he couldn't help but find it cute, his little dongsaeng, until he starts smiling cheekily at sungchan. he shakes his head at danny, amusement filling his expression as he chuckles. "you're sneaky, you know that?" he jokes, directing it to danny before averting his gaze to the phone. he gives the camera a little wave before laughing, humming to himself. "what shall i talk about? give me a starting point and i'll see what i can come up with."

chuseok 2k25 solo
chuseok was an odd time of the year for sungchan. he moved from canada to seoul when he was just thirteen, leaving behind the majority of his family and the only people he had in seoul was his cousin, haeun, and his grandmother. so really, he didn't have many family members to spend many of the holidays with. but he didn't mind it too much. sure, he missed his parents and extended family who still lived back home, but he had his grandmother and haeun, and that was enough to cure the feeling of missing them.

"That's okay, that's what you have me to remind you. I mean, I don't think we have to go anyway⦠but free food and drinks. On the flipside, we have to be social," Danny trails off begrudingly, never one to be able to poker face proper. "I know I'll ned the next two days to hole up in this apartment so I ensured that I was prepared with snacks and some hangover drinks in the fridge." Grinning cheekily, he motions to the shared refridgerator as he shuffles around, tidying up the kitchen. "I even took the next few days off, believe it or not. I think my paycheck might hate me later but I can still make this month's rent." It'd be unfair to unload some of that on Sungchan, simply because he chose to have a pay by the hour job instead of a salary. How he envies those who have them.
Glancing back at Sungchan with a pointed look as he deals with the hot cookie, Danny clicks at the roof of his mouth. "You make a good argument. But we're already late, and I think they have a grilling station. Sugar is never good for the beginning of a meal, and is best at the endβ¦ No, no health talk today," Danny scolds himself and declares outwardly. "I'll limit my intake, I'll be good. I have self controlβ¦" Yea, until it all went down the drain after two drinks, probably. There's a high chance he'll have to take Sungchan up on the offer about dragging him back to the apartment. "Good thing my awesome roommate will be watching out for me," he sing-songs as he headed off to his closet.
-
"Okay, but if I own anything else other than gym clothes, I won't have anywhere to where them so its a waste of money!" His nose crinkles in protest, as he idly sifts through the other's closet, pulling out a large t-shirt with big graphic words on it in block red. "I would wear something like this to sleep, but you're probably going to say it was rather expensive, riiiight? I actually will borrow this one, if that's alright with you--" Danny turns back around after changing into it, looking at the jackets that were laid out. "Almost ready? I think you should... wear that one. The dark would be a nice contrast with the rest of your outfit."
βFashionably late is better than not attending I suppose,β Danny says, glancing at his watch as the pair make their way the elevator, bypassing all the floors that had nothing to do with them. Whether or not the drinking game was a good idea as the starter in contrast to the grilling station, they were surely about to find out. βI cannot fathom talking to new people while sober. Euughβ¦β
"you win some, you lose some." sungchan responds with a quiet sigh, wondering how long the event would go on for. he wonders how many people would be there, if there'd be more than he expects, more than he could handle. which said a lot since he was an outgoing guy, but there were those times where he treasured his own company and comfort of his own space. "what would i do without you?" honestly, if he never met danny, he feels like the room mate he'd have ended up with would have probably been the worst of them all. "don't worry, don't leave yourself broke for the month. if i need to cover a bit, i don't mind." his tone shifts for the moment, a more serious tone evident as he casts a glance towards danny, to show him that it was fine.
he snorts as danny goes on a mini health talk, shaking his head fondly at the younger. "you have self control, huh? we'll find out later how true that statement is." it's just a tease, one sungchan couldn't help with as he grins cheekily. a chuckle falls for him at danny's comment, before he disappears off to his bedroom.
β
"what do you mean? we're about to go out now, even though it's just to the rooftop. so you'd be wearing them at some point. besides, what if you bag yourself a hot date? you'll have nothing but gym clothes to wear." sungchan points out, sitting down on his bed as he lets the other look through his closet. the moment danny says that the shirt looks like one he sleeps in, sungchan playfully uses his foot to nudge him. "it was, you're wearing an expensive shirt, i'm trusting you with it." as danny changes the shirt, sungchan lays on his bed, covering his face with his hands until he hears the sound of his voice again. "dark one it is." he's quick to sit up on the bed, grabbing the jacket and sliding it on before quickly spraying some of his favorite perfume.
"honestly, i doubt we'll be the only ones who arrive late." he mumbles as they head to the elevator, sungchan trailing behind danny ever so slightly. running a hand through his hair, when the elevator arrives, sungchan gently ushers the younger in, clicking the button for the rooftop. they arrive within seconds. "good thing you have me here then," he shoots danny a reassuring grin, nudging him lightly before nodding his head. "let's go, let's get some alcohol in you before someone starts making conversation with you."
His nose scrunches at the rebellion, mock glaring at Sungchan for not wanting to listen to him. It's an age-old tradition for them at this point, yet he plays into it every time. "You know, you shouldn't even be ruining your appetite before we head out to the rooftop gathering. Did you forget that was today?" He turns to Sungchan with hands on his hips, wagging his finger scoldingly before taking the tray of cookies out of reach from the other, pulling out a container to put them into.
After piling them away and leaving the lid on for them to cool off, Danny turns to exchange a look with Sungchan, stifling a laugh. "Okay, fine, you get one..." Taking one, he leans over and pops it into his roommate's mouth. "Seriously, though, I heard they have drinks upstairs, so I don't want you to get full on these." God, why does he sound like a parent? "We can have them later. I know I'll get the munchies if we drink too much." He sighs a little, not usually one to partake in alcohol, considering the empty calories that don't necessarily fit in with his lifestyle, but this was a special occasion.
"Meet you here in 5 minutes and then we'll head up?" Danny wasn't giving Sungchan much time but there was a high chance that they'd end up staying in, especially in his own case where he'd take off the apron and be too comfortable becoming best friends with the sofa in their living area. Once he lays down, it's all over. Running into his room, he pawed through his closet to find anything that didn't resemble sportswear so that he could look slightly presentable to the tenants that he rarely said any greetings to, considering his odd work hours and that he preferred staying inside much more than anything else. Calling out loudly from his room, he's not truly satisfied with anything he owns, nose crinkling at his options. Man seriously had to go shopping sometime soon. "Are you almost ready? I might borrow a shirt from you if that's alright with you. Everything I own looks like.... gym clothes."
sungchan sends an exaggerated, puppy eyed smile back at danny's glare, blowing him an air kiss as he rests his elbows against the kitchen counter. he grumbles at the small scolding, until he stills on the kitchen stool, staring right at danny. "that's today? fuck, i forgot about that." his hands rub over his face, groaning into it as he slumps into the chair. he could already feel the judgement from danny without even seeing him, and he splits his fingers apart over his face to take a peek and there he was, hands on his hips and wagging his finger at him.
he, so sadly, watched as his room mate takes the tray of cookies away, further out of his reach.
his eyes stay glued to the cookies as danny carefully places them into their new container, corners of his lips curled downwards into a devastating pout, exaggerating it even more when he spots danny looking at him. but the pout is quickly wiped away, into a happy smile when he says he can have one, cookie shoved into his mouth and a sound of surprise escapes sungchan as he bites down. bad idea, bad idea to pout his way into a free cookie too early, because they're still hot and sungchan can feel the burn on his tongue and lips, hand quickly held out to catch the other half of the cookie as he sucks a sharp breath in. "ow, ow, okay, you're right, that's hot." it's more of a mumble to himself, but he wouldn't be surprised if danny was already giving him the 'i told you so' look.
"isn't it better to be full on cookies before drinking alcohol?" he knows he's just trying his luck at more cookies, but it was worth a shot. sungchan shoves the rest of the cookie in his mouth, now cooler enough that he isn't sucking in sharp breaths. "don't worry, i can handle my alcohol. you on the other hand? at least you have an amazing room mate who would carry your ass to bed if you got too drunk." he knew danny didn't drink all too much, not even often, so sungchan had already made the unsaid decision that he'd make sure he wasn't chaotically drunk so he was able to keep an eye on danny throughout the day and night.
with a curt nod, sungchan watches as danny runs off, a soft chuckle slipping from him as he pushes himself off the stool, eyes lingering at the container of cookies. he almost grabs another one before he decides against it, knowing danny would know immediately, somehow, and instead heads to his room to change into some fresher, more special occasional clothes. he's quick to change, browsing through his jacket selections when he hears danny's voice call out. "i'm ready," lie, he hadn't even decided on which jacket to wear. sungchan chuckles, moving to use his foot to kick his door open. "you know where everything is, take your pick. it's not like you've not worn any of my clothes before. and that's because almost everything you own is gym clothes, danny. when's pay-day? i'm dragging you shopping."
