for someone who didn't want to debut as an idol or anything like that, he feels like he had been spending a hot minute locked away inside the practice rooms lately. but then again, he didn't want to slack off, even if he was planning to switch paths soon. what kind of impression would he be giving off if he was just slacking off? there was the chance the staff could turn around and say he can't, because they had seen him slacking off and would deem his work ethics quite literally, a joke.
he wasn't the best singer, nor dancer, and especially not a rapper, but seyeon had been trying his damn best beneath the desire to switch paths already. which is why the moment he had the chance to take a break, oh, he was taking it.
being cooped up inside practice rooms was one thing, but when it got hot, sweaty and stuffy? there was nothing more that he wanted than to run outside and get that first big, deep inhale of fresh air. even if it hurt his chest and throat with how chilly it was.
he's just made it out of the front of the building when he spots hyoseop lingering around until he finds a ball. watching with a curious gaze, he has to bite his lower lip to hold back the laugh that threatens to fall from him. upon hearing his name, seyeon moves over towards him, an amused grin on his face as hyoseop says there's some idiot who kicked this ball into a tree, like he didn't just witness hyoseop lose it himself. "sure, why not. you wanna get on my back or?" seyeon jests playfully, thumb raised and pointing to his back.
hyoseop finds himself outside for his breaks a lot lately. it can get quite hot in the practice room, four guys practicing together and hyoseop has to attempt his best at learning dance, heโs come a long way, but heโs still able to look in the mirror and know he has a long way to go. the cold air hits different during winter for some reason, going outside and instantly be hit by cold air in your face. itโs calming, and hyoseop wishes he had more time to spent outside, would it be possible to practice his dance outside? then again, he would feel shy about practicing his dance somewhere everyone could see him and not just his members and the coaches.
kicking the ball right into the tree though, he hopes no one was watching him, not that it was too embarrassing, it just felt like it. grown adult plays with ball and loses it in a tree. he actually has no idea how long seyeon has been standing there, but he decides in his mind that seyeon hasnโt been there long enough to know who kicked the ball into the tree, and when seyeon doesnโt mention that itโs hyoseop who has done it, hyoseop decides to continue his lie that it was definitely not his fault.
โwanna get on your back?โ he tilts his head a bit โdo you think you can carry me?โ he questions โitโs been ages since anyone has carried me on their backโ or carried him any way really. he pokes the otherโs arm โyou donโt seem weakโฆ maybe you would actually be able to do itโ.
seyeon doesn't know when he'll be able to move to the acting path. he hopes soon, but really, he's not entirely too sure. he never planned to stay on the idol path, nor for this long either, but he felt like there was no rush in moving paths. while he was stuck in the idol path, it was worth having some kind of development in those skills, right? since he knew that by moving into the acting path, it didn't mean every single schedule he'd receive would be strictly acting. he knew there was musicals they hosted sometimes, which meant he he had to have at least some kind of skill in singing or dancing. rapping was definitely not his vibe, but if he had to choose between the three, he'd probably choose singing over both.
one thing he found fun though, was the mix and match of trainees and idols in the building that he often found himself bumping into. just like now, with hyoseop staring sadly up at a tree and wondering what to do. part of him hopes that it was recorded on the cctv, because the sight of the ball being kicked into a tree and hyoseop completely lost as to how to get it down was beyond amusing. sorry, hyoseop.
seyeon nods his head in response, a stifled chuckle threatening to escape him. "i'm pretty certain i can carry you, just because i'm often wearing baggier clothes during practices doesn't mean i'm all scrawny under them." he jests again as hyoseop pokes at his arm, an amused expression present on his face. with an exaggerated exhale, seyeon leans down. "come on, get on. let's get your beloved ball back," he smirks playfully, mostly since he knew hyoseop couldn't see his face properly right now. "i totally saw you kick the ball up there, by the way."
Chuckling, Jinseo shakes his head. "I'll let the glam team on set know." Pausing, Jinseo turns to the trainee. "It would have been less stress if you made it look like I got run over by a car." At this point, people know that Yichan got run over by a car. It's just a mystery as to who and why... and the point was to prevent it from happening. But at least the makeup artists can build off on the wound, assuming it looks bad enough. He hasn't checked himself in the mirror, but he will later.
Paying attention to the guy, Jinseo decides to help a guy out. "That doesn't look like a mild headache." He winces. "Come on, I'll help you back to the trainee dorms." It's been way too long since Jinseo even set foot in the trainee dorms. "Can you walk, or do you want me to get my car?" He texts his coaches, letting them know that he'll be late to a class because there's an emergency. "There's no way I'm leaving you alone at this state."
another airy chuckle falls from seyeon, trying his absolutely best to keep any mild form of laughter, movement or sudden turns to avoid another pang in his head. honestly, he doesn't remember the last time he's felt so rough like this. he didn't even feel this rough after a night of intense drinking, and that was saying a lot. whatever brought this on, was seriously messing with him. it truly felt like he had been hit by a car.
"if i wasn't feeling so bad, i'd say let's do another take and we can try again." it's all playful, and seyeon doesn't know how he's still managing to be his playful self while his head feels like it's about to quite literally explode. even any bright light was enough to have him squinting, which even squinting hurt. "is it that obvious?" a small, pained smile makes its way across his face as he takes a deep breath, raising a hand to rub at his temple. typically, seyeon wasn't one to really accept help from people often, but right now, he truly had no idea how he was going to make it back to the dorms without stopping every thirty seconds or even passing out, so maybe having jinseo help him was needed. "honestly, i'm not sure. if i'm honest, i don't know how much walking i could do but the thought of going over bumps in a car makes me feel sick. you don't drive like a gta character, do you?"
seyeon wasn't the best singer. this whole idol thing wasn't exactly his chosen forte, but at the moment, he was still unable to transition over to the acting path, so for now, he was kind of stuck there. he knew there were much better singers and performers that would be performing, so the pressure was on, which is why he was actually trying to improve even if he felt like he didn't see the point.
because really, who wanted to perform covers of songs in front of people and completely suck at it? especially being a trainee too, the thought was horrible and even if he wasn't going to stay on this path, he still wanted to try and do well at least.
seyeon had been practicing the songs he would be performing quite a bit, and he was relatively pleased with how they were coming out. they weren't the most amazing covers, but they didn't completely suck and that's what he was happy with. but truth be told, knowing he would be performing in front of the higher ups of the company, shareholders as well as other entertainment representatives? yeah, that was a bigger pressure than he initially realised.
his song selections were ones he thought were pretty good choices, so he could only hope that everyone watching would enjoy them too. though, the one he was most nervous about was invu, because that was definitely not a song he wanted to mess up. imagine messing up such an elite song, and everyone in the audiences faces dropping in disgust and disappointment? seyeon did not want that to happen. and it didn't help that his performances were smack bang in the middle of the dates, with some of the more nerve wrecking spectators around. what if he sucked so bad that the company decided to get rid of him? sure, he never intended to stick to the idol path, but he still needed to show improvement first in order to be able to transition over.
but one thing about seyeon, is that he was confident. and with confidence comes strength, which is how he pushed through. sure, it was a charity concert, but he still wanted to try and have some fun too. would be get scolded a little for interacting with those in the audience? for hopping off the little area he was probably supposed to stay at and engage with everyone? maybe so, but at the end of the day, he wanted to have fun at the same time. so he does have fun when he performs really really for his final song, just a little bit, to test the waters first and much to his surprise, he didn't get as many telling eyes as he thought he would. that was good, he didn't think that everything had to be so serious and stern. even trainees should be allowed to have fun sometimes, right?
the performances don't last too long, since it wasn't just him performing that day. he feels rejuvenated, a little excited after his set that he lingers in the audience to watch the others, even talking a little with some of the kids that couldn't sit entirely still. he loved kids, the reminder of how free and big the world was when he was younger, and if he was able to put a smile on at least one persons face that day - that was a success to him.
first snow is always a surreal thing, but you know what's even more surreal? it starting to snow when you're outside in non-snowproof clothes. wrap up warm and wear those fuzzy furry socks!

It wasn't entirely uncommon for Kiyong to find himself spacing out. Daydreaming, his mother would often call it. About what was often a mystery, but he was always more than willing to share it with any who might ask. Today's reverie happened to pertain fantastical ideas about what it would be like to be able to float around off pure will alone, then his brain tumbles into the recreation of some regency romance novel and what it would be like if he wasโ
Well, he will not go there. Not when another voice is calling his name and he's unconsciously placing a strip of tape over Seyeon's hand holding the banner instead of the thing itself. ( And he would like the apologize additionally later in case of any pulled out hair follicles when he tears the tape off to put it on its proper place. ) "Huh? Oh! Oh, shit, I'm sorry, hyung!"
Kiyong frantically pats down the sign underneath the adhesive strips, adding another for extra measure so it won't come tumbling down as soon as Seyeon pulls his hand away. "Here, here. So you can get the other end!" He presents him with several pieces of tape stuck to his fingertips and holds it out to the older man. "Is this the last thing we have to hang up? Or should we put more holly pieces on... Or... more streamers? I also think that there's still tinsel in the boxโ"
if someone were to have told seyeon that he'd be finding himself in this situation today, he'd probably have laughed at the image. but unfortunately, much to his luck, he really did find himself in this situation and just when he thought kiyong would have his back and save his poor arm, the tape goes straight over his hand instead.
now he was stuck with the internal battle of whether to pull his hand away from the wall and let the decoration fall to the floor, or to just stand there and suffer until kiyong returns to the present moment and helps him out.
he knows later on in the day, seyeon would find the scene entirely amusing, but right now his arm was aching and he wanted nothing more than to get this banner up and stuck to the wall completely. "thanks," seyeon breathes out, a sigh of relief at kiyong's quick thinking after he returned from his daydreaming. the several pieces of tape on his fingers have him laughing lightly, at least they were prepared for the other side. seyeon shuffles over the ladder slightly to reach the other side, holding up the other end and turns around to grab a few pieces of tape from kiyong's fingers and sticks them to the banner and wall. he hesitantly moves away, waiting for the banner to ultimately fall down but it doesn't, and seyeon releases a deep, much needed sigh as he lets his arms rest. and boy, did it feel good.
"ki," the elder says, climbing down the ladder and stands in front of him. "we can put up some more in the more empty areas, but you're putting them up next time. i think my arms about to fall off."
now, seyeon wasn't the most creative person with things like these, but there was something about the holiday and christmas season that brought out a fun, playful and enjoyable side in him. personally, he had already watched the nightmare before christmas twice so far this year. once on halloween and then once a few days prior, because of course, why wouldn't he? it was a movie you could watch during both times.
but when seyeon realised what they were decorating, he felt slightly defeated. perhaps he wanted to help decorate the tree, but he was too late, and the only other options were decorating the interior or decorating presents. and while he does enjoy wrapping presents, majority of the toys donated were oddly shaped and seyeon wasn't up for fighting with the wrapping paper, so he opted to help decorate the interior.
"kiyong," seyeon says, head moving to the side to try and grab his attention. his arms were currently crossed, his right arm holding up the sign he was attempting to stick on the wall and his left arm across his right, holding out in attempt to grab the tape. "ki!" he calls again, this time his voice more urgent and desperate. wow, his arms were starting to ache. "please tell me there's some tape somewhere on the table.. if i move my hand, the whole thing will fall down and it took me 5 minutes to get it cantered."
it was seyeon's first acting experience. at least, in legacy. and since this was the path he wanted to take, he felt pretty pleased and happy he even had the opportunity to audition for the upcoming short film. it wasn't everyday an opportunity like this came about, so he wanted to give a shot and try. if he succeeded, it meant it'd be his first real acting experience, a legitimate one and the thought was rather exciting, if he had to say so.
sure, he might be twenty six, but he liked to think he still had a young looking face. face card never declines, as some people in this generation would say. he hadn't really explored his image too much per se, but with how many actors could look older or younger depending on makeup and styling, it was safe to say that he feels like he could probably suit a range of characters.
he hopes, anyway.
they start off with the casual school uniform, and seyeon hasn't worn one of these in a damn long time. it almost feels nostalgic, until he forces himself to rid of the feeling because nothing was nostalgic about his past, not really. he had a slender frame, he was built good and he knew that. thank you gym, he thinks to himself. though in moments like this, he thinks it probably makes things a little harder for the stylists. how is one meant to get the trouser size right where it looks good but not too baggy that it looks weird?
"what do you think?" the stylist asks him as she tightens up his tie, and seyeon moves around slightly on the spot, analysing himself in the mirror before moving around. it had to be comfortable, and the easiest way for that was to move around. he didn't want his damn pants to rip right at the crotch now, did he?
his hair was straight, his natural look considering he wasn't the most fondest of his curly hair, which definitely added to the whole youthful look. he felt like he looked more like a college student than a high schooler. "sizing wise, it's okay. maybe a little bit bigger on the shoulders, arms and thighs? i wouldn't want to stretch the material and it rip," seyeon chuckles softly as he takes a glance at the stylist. "i look more like a college student than a high schooler though, don't you think?" he ponders, taking a deep sigh as he loosens the tie around his neck slightly. he forgot how annoying ties could be, the feeling of them squeezing at his neck and silencing him almost. "it could definitely work for a college student look, i don't think i'd suit for a high schooler though. i think i look a little too old."
while the school uniform wasn't a compete no, he feels like he'd be on the end of the line for it. definitely more college like, he thinks. so he heads back to change into the next outfit: a barista. which was typically a simple look, a shirt, fancy apron and the whole shebang, it was a simple look yet one that seyeon felt like he could pull off easily. there wasn't really an age restriction when it came to baristas, so it made this easier. "if we're thinking to give more character, i think maybe adding some stains on the apron? like coffee or milk, something like that, it might create more of a personality for the character rather than just a plain." seyeon nods his had, untying the apron from the back of him and letting it hang loose around him.
for seyeon, the biggest decision of it all was linking his visuals to the outfits. sure, he had some soft, delicate features, and he knows he definitely wasn't lacking in the visual department, but how often was it you saw the cutest ever looking big, bad villain? it wasn't rare, so finding the best suited for him was the main goal, even if he wanted one more over the other. "i like the barista uniform, i think i fit this one better than a student. plus, everyone loves a cute barista, right?"
man had it felt like hyoseop had done nothing but practice lately. and itโs not like he has a choice, heโs a good rapper, but heโs just โgood enoughโ at dance and singing. he has to improve his dance, and though he has no interest in singing, legacy has interest in him learning to sing. so heโs been in the practice room a lot, more than usual, but right now he really needed a break.
he walked outside to get some fresh air, the cold wind hitting him and making him feel alive, it was a bit cold with just a t-shirt on, but there was something so satisfying about the cold. heโd randomly found a football and soon enough found himself playing with it, kicking it around and doing tricks, and then of course, he kicks it too high and itโs stuck in the tree. heโs tall, but not tall enough to get it down.
spotting seyeon, he waves at the other โseyeon! hey, come over here!โ, โthereโs some idiot who kicked this ball into the tree, i was wondering if youโd like helping with getting it down?โ.
for someone who didn't want to debut as an idol or anything like that, he feels like he had been spending a hot minute locked away inside the practice rooms lately. but then again, he didn't want to slack off, even if he was planning to switch paths soon. what kind of impression would he be giving off if he was just slacking off? there was the chance the staff could turn around and say he can't, because they had seen him slacking off and would deem his work ethics quite literally, a joke.

a misconception about milan is that she's a good girl. while she recognizes that she's a nice girl, the word good doesn't really fit her. on an alignment chart, milan places between neutral good and chaotic good, leaning more towards the latter than the former. while she (usually) doesn't chase after trouble, the idol is definitely an enabler. if someone needs the voice of reason, it's not through her that they will find it.
and then there are her... hobbies. the ones that she secretly indulges into. like reading y/n fanfics of her favorite celebrity of the moment. in fandom terms; she's a hard stan. the ones that want to see abs and muscular chests, that saves sweaty pictures of their faves (even better if their tongue is out), those who appreciate a good thirst trap. in other words; she had been bound to find seyeon's account one day or another. when it gone private, she never expected to ever see him again, especially not at legacy.
unable to hide her surprise upon recognizing him, seyeon realized right away who she was. or what she was maybe. either way, he knew that she knew and she knew that he knew and all of sudden she's making her way to the company's rooftop to meet him. guess that's what happens when she has too much time on her hands nowadays.
as soon as she makes her way out, he's already teasing her. she might be bad at hiding her expressions when taken by surprise, seyeon will quickly find out that she has wits about her though.
the idol leans back against the door that has just closed behind her and crosses her arms on her chest while shrugging. "well, it would've been rude of me not to come." the corner of her lips rise slightly. "and kind of awkward if we are to run into each other again."
there's one thing she's dying to know though. "so hmm... didn't think you'd be the type to want to become an idol or... did your modeling skills got you in here?" this time, she has to purse her lips to stop herself from chuckling
everyone had their hobbies, yet he just hadn't ever expected anyone to remember him or know him from his previous ones. so when milan realised who he was, where she knew him from, it was safe to say that it was like a layer was peeled away from him and she had seen another side of him that no one in legacy had seen before. he didn't know whether it was amusing or slightly traumatising, but he couldn't deny that he did find it amusing and milan's reaction when she realised, which only made him realise.
it all started as just some playful remarks back and fourth, yet now he was on the rooftop of the company building, wondering, waiting for this one specific girl to show up, if she would. yet of course, he was pleasantly surprised. perhaps she had more to her than seyeon initially thought. he was intrigued to dig into her personality more, to say the least.
the surprise on her face has him laughing, clearly entertained by her reaction when earlier that day, she was giving it back to him just as he was giving it to her. he notes the way she's leaning back against the door, the stance and expression on her face and he feels like this could be a rerun of their previous conversation, with the same playfulness, the same wits and same teasing manners.
"so you came just to be nice?" seyeon questions, tone curious as he mimics her stance, folding his arms across his chest. "you think it'd be awkward? i think it'd be amusing, your expression when you saw me said a lot." he teases her lightly, an edge of his lip curling upwards into a small smirk.
he feels like he should have expected that question, because really, what was an ex tiktoker doing in legacy? "neither, believe it or not. surprised?" another chuckle falls from him as he pushes himself away from the railing. "i'm hopefully moving to the acting path soon, that's where i want to be."

Seyoon, the only one in the search party who didn't have to close his eyes, snorted with laughter when he saw where his fellow trainee chose to hide. What a truly amazing hiding place.
One of the kids tugged on his pant leg, wondering why he was laughing, and he quickly let her know it was nothing and that she would find out...soon.
To be fair, they were just playing a game with some children, not trying to win $250,000 in that one reality show where people had to hide from highly skilled investigators. Seyoon supposed this was good enough. Regardless, since they counted extra slow, Seyeon got his fifteen (ish) seconds of hiding time before the group came to hunt him down.
Seyoon allowed the pack to lead him, holding onto two little hands. He struggled when they wanted to pull him in different directions and bid them to negotiate. Before a conclusion could be reached, however, a third kid already discovered their target.
"Careful!" Seyoon cautioned, but the kid was already running towards Seyeon, arms outstretched with the intention to tackle. The rest of the kids shouted in excitement as they moved to join him, dragging Seyoon along. "Good job, good job." He praised everyone and was grateful he wasn't the one they were all dogpiling on.
it had been a hot minute since seyeon had played hide and seek, and quite honestly, he didn't wake up today with a whole list of games to play with the children. the most obvious one for him was hide and seek, and now he finds himself attempting to hide behind a door and mentally preparing himself for the sudden attack of small children when they inevitably find him and all clutch onto him and call out 'found him! he's here! we win!'. he could hear the snort of laugher coming from seyoon as he hides, and almost wants to raise a finger (jokingly, of course) until he remembers he can't, so instead he sucks it up until the next round when he can watch seyoon struggle to find a place that wasn't behind the door.
once the counting was down to zero, seyeon holds his breath, as if everyone in the room had super hearing and freezes up, teeth biting into his lower lip in anticipation.
it was almost like life or death, seyeon wonders whether he'll be attacked by a bunch of small children if he's found and chased around the room if he ran, or if he should just give in easily.
he decides on the latter, and it's only about 15 seconds later that he hears seyoon's cautious voice yell out and seyeon instinctively peeks his head out from behind the door wondering if one of the kids had hurt themselves, but instead he was greeted by a tiny body tackling him and it was game over before it had even started.
seyeon chuckles, playfully letting out a quiet scream as he bends down to pick up the child and hold the kid in his arms, only to get attacked by a swam of more tiny kids. "how did you find me?! i was hiding really good!" he asks them, exaggerating his pout as he lightly ruffles one of their hair. "i think it's time for seyoon to hide, don't you think?!"
is it too early to start watching christmas movies? controversial question, is the nightmare before christmas a halloween movie or christmas movie? ๐ค i can confirm i did watch it before halloween and i'll even watch it this month!!ย
He recalled scowling at his stepmother and throwing tantrums over her betrayal. Seyoon wanted to be an only child, and she hurt him by bringing a new baby into the family. Now, people won't pay as much attention to him. They won't just buy him toys and books!
She soothed him gently and placed the infant carefully into his not-so-strong child arms. This is another person who will love you, stepmother promised. He is your brother. Yours, Abie.
After that, Seyoon didn't mind the new baby as much. When the next two arrived, he even learned to hold them. He figured out how to properly wash baby bottles and stir milk powder. When they learned to talk and begged him to play, he always pretended to be annoyed but secretly loved being their entire focus. Yes, kids could be cute. Sometimes.
"Our Seyeon is quite good at hiding," Seyoon said, crouching down. "Are you sure you all are up for the challenge?" He tickled one enthusiastic kid on the cheek, smiling with a softness that was not typically featured on the wild Canadian party boy's face.
"Let's go then. Go on, Seyeon, find a hiding place!" Seyoon will stay with the kids and make sure none get lost during the search later. He shall also help them count. "Ten...nine...what comes after nine again? Yes, eight. That's very good. What a clever bunch you are." He wondered where his fellow trainee was going to hide. After all, there weren't that many good spots. "Ready or not, here we come!"
there was something so therapeutic and freeing being a young child, so inexperienced with the world and completely oblivious to the complicated nature of the world. growing up sucked, and that was something that seyeon could happily put his hand up and admit (not publicly, he didn't want people to know about his family life or history, he wasn't ready for that). so being around a bunch of cute, small children with all the energy and carefreeness in the world was extremely easy to rub off on seyeon himself. they brought out the inner child in him, and even if he is a twenty six year old man, everyone had their childish moments.
seyeon was currently having one.
he hums in agreement that he's good at hiding, exaggerating a nod of his head down at the kids as he playfully, gently ruffles a really cute kids hair who has the squishiest cheeks ever. seyeon has to hold himself back from squeezing them until he can't, and he sneaks a soft squeeze as the kid curls themselves around his leg. how cute, how was seyeon going to leave this place not wanting to adopt one?
when seyoon tells him to find a hiding place, seyeon's eyes widen when he realises he only had ten seconds to hide, and his eyes dart around the room. realistically, there weren't many places for him to hide. it was catered to small children, so everything was relatively small and being a 180cm tall man made it pretty difficult.
as the small kid uncurls himself from seyeon's leg and covers his eyes in the most adorable way, the elder sneaks around the room as quickly and quietly as possible, trying to find a relatively decent place where he could hide that wouldn't result in any broken bones. he spots the open door, deciding to hide behind it to the best of his ability as seyoon and the children count down to zero.
now, if there was one thing to know about seyeon, is that he loved kids. perhaps it was the whole idea of falling back into that childhood era of his life, where he sort of, kind of missed out on the younger version of himself. he spent so much of his childhood focused on swimming that he never really gave himself the real opportunity to just be a normal, carefree kid and missed out on so much. so this was the perfect opportunity to relive those young years of his life, even if he was a twenty six year old man playing hide and seek tag playing with a bunch of children.
he's hanging out with seyoon when a group of children plead and beg to play a game of hide and seek tag, some of their tiny little fists latched onto their clothes and giving them both their best pleading, puppy dog eyes and how could seyeon say no?
he decides to tease them slightly, humming dramatically as he pretends to contemplate whether to agree or not. "hmm... i don't know.. are you guys going to be really good at it?" seyeon teases playfully, watching their reactions and a small chuckle slips from him, but he's quick to fight it away. "hmm.. i don't know..." seyeon shoots seyoon a small side eye, hinting to start counting down from 10.

seyeon would never turn down the opportunity for a party, so when he heard that legacy was throwing another halloween themed event, he had already started planning his outfit. halloween was only one day a year, so why not make the most of it, right?
he wasn't too much of a gamer, but seyeon did dabble in a few games here and there. but admittedly, out of the gaming stations that were stationed around the venue, animal crossing was by far his favorite one, simply because he played that more than the others. and on top of that, there was just something so cozy about that game that made him want to almost live in it, in those amazing islands that people built that literally looked like a little town.
as he's scouting around the venue, watching others play the games and wondering just how people were that good at some of them, he spots iseul lingering at one of the stations and slowly makes his way over towards him, striking up a conversation. "so, which station is your favorite?" seyeon shoots him the question, his eyes drifting from the screens over to the younger.
the annual legacy halloween party is underway and iseul had been very excited for this year's theme. as an avid video game enjoyed, though he now played much more pc games than he did handheld console, he had, of course, grown up with a love of mario and pokemon. it's just funny that he had been ash last year too, and had already been planning something from nintendo this year.
having lost track of the friends he had met up with, he finds himself wandering over to the games stations, debating on whether he wanted to try. most of him wants to, though a small part of him also wonders if he's forgotten all his console gaming skills after having only played pc games for so long.
it's about the exact second that he's about to decide fuck it, we ball that seyeon speaks, and iseul glances away from the smash brothers competition happening in front of him for a moment. "i've played all of these games," he says, amused and he indicates the pokemon games and animal crossing.
considering that he's dressed as an animal crossing character should say enough on that point, he thinks. "but i'm really tempted to play smash? it's been ages since i've played that." he pauses, having wanted to continue to say something about it before deciding not to and turning the question around onto the other trainee instead. "you?"
admittedly, the whole aspect of not gaming as much when he was younger all came down to how focused he was on swimming. that was his life, his future career and one he enjoyed thoroughly that unfortunately had to be locked away in a little box and long forgotten about after the injury he suffered. it took him a long time to come to terms with the fact that he'd never be able to swim competitively again, and to this day, he still partly blames his own father for it, even if he wasn't directly responsible. he wishes he had spent more time playing those games like he should have been, lived his childhood a little more realistically because he feels like he's missed out on a chunk of his childhood that he won't be able to get back. and it's not like he could rewind back time now, can he?
seyeon's pleasantly surprised at how many people seem to be hovering around by the game stations, and he feels like there's more people there than anywhere else in the place and he can't help but find it extremely amusing. it felt like a comic con of sorts rather than a halloween party, he was enjoying it.
he should have known that iseul has played all of the games before, he seemed like the type to enjoy gaming and seyeon wonders just how good he is. "really? when did you first start playing?" seyeon responds, curious tone as he averts his eyes back to the screen to watch, not entirely understanding what was happening on the pokemon stall. it looked like a fight, but he never played much pokemon or knew the lore, so he couldn't say for sure.
"i never played smash. out of everything, i think i played animal crossing more, mostly during covid times. i haven't opened it for a while, i wonder if sherb hates me." there's a small frown that slides across his face at the thought of the little blue goat, his favorite villager. he hopes he doesn't decide to move out when he next decides to open his game, or else he'd keep sherb there forever like people have dungeons in their sims games. seyeon did not spend a ton of his tickets to bring him to his island. "for me, animal crossing. it's the one i played most, i don't really understand the others much. how about we play some smash? who knows, maybe i'll be ridiculously good at it and beat you?"
seyeon would never turn down the opportunity for a party, so when he heard that legacy was throwing another halloween themed event, he had already started planning his outfit. halloween was only one day a year, so why not make the most of it, right?
