although rieon doesn’t have a huge interest in modeling, he can’t say he actually dislikes it - or else he wouldn’t have bothered auditioning in the first place. however, he is glad that of the gigs he’s gotten so far, they all had something to do with food; honestly, he wouldn’t even be mad if eating and food became his brand of sorts, especially because of the fact that his youtube channel was about that exact topic. not to mention, he finds working with companies like this much easier in a way too so for a beginner like him, rieon rather enjoys being a brand model for baskin robbins and now, holly’s coffee.
he had fully expected they would just be doing a photoshoot and cf for this though so he’s (pleasantly) surprised to find out that the chosen models would be asked to create their own combo to be promoted at various locations. trying food and being filmed for it? rieon couldn’t ask for a better job so he’s all smiles and positive energy as he enters a holly’s coffee and greets the staff, before they jump right into filming once they finish going over the shoot for today.
“hello!” he gives a little wave to the camera and grins. “i’m oh rieon and today, i’ll be choosing what to include in the oh rieon set.” it sounds so funny to say it out loud, and also kind of weird because he never thought he’d have a chance like this - and to name it after himself. it’s times like these that really hits home that he’s not exactly a nameless face anymore, even if he doesn’t feel that way sometimes. “i’m so excited to try everything!”
they start with food and rieon gets to sample a lot of items, making sure he comments about each and every one just in case. as he’s not much of a sweets person though--he usually prefers savory instead--he can’t help but show a more excited reaction when trying the sandwiches and the likes, compared to the baked goods and desserts. he can still appreciate tasty food though so he doesn’t hold back on saying as much. “even though this is too sweet for me, it’s actually really good,” he remarks while holding up the strawberry cookie cake.
“something like the macaron tiramisu cake would be nice because it’s both sweet and slightly bitter, which i like. or maybe the ice cream apple tart, since it’s sweet and... well, tart.” rieon laughs at the unintentional pun he makes, before re-focusing himself and his eyes on to the spread in front of him, tapping a finger to his lips as he considers the options. “but in the end... i think i’m going with the olive bacon ciabatta.” he picks up the plate with the mentioned item and holds it next to his face. “it’s really tasty and although it looks light, the potatoes and bacon in it would be filling enough to tie you over until your next meal without making you feel stuffed!”
next, rieon had to choose a drink but this was much easier for him. much like his taste in food, his drink preferences tended to be quite simple and unsurprisingly, not that sweet either. while part of him wanted to pick something like an iced american, he felt it would be too plain and looked for something else that would be kind of similar - that’s when his eyes land on the cold brew latte.
“this is the one!” he announces excitedly, grabbing the glass to take several sips just to confirm. as he thought, the taste is both sweet and bitter thanks to the mix of coffee and milk, which rieon feels is a perfect match together and with the sandwich he chose. “i would order something just like this if i were to visit a cafe because i love a simpler coffee drink and a decently filling snack so this really is an ‘oh rieon set’,” he laughs, now holding up both items near his face. “please do give it a try if you have similar taste buds like me! i can guarantee everything on the menu i’ve tasted is good though, and there’s something for everyone!”

yein looks at him with a slight scowl. “i could have written the script, you never know. maybe i’m just extremely multi-talented.” she sighs, letting out a breath and shaking her head with the dramatics meant for an actress. “you just have no faith in me.”
it’s only once yein responds that rieon realizes how wrong he was for saying what he did. he basically just called her a psychotic and manipulative killer, didn’t he? there’s no way he should be let off easy for making such a comment yet yein takes it in stride and even agrees. rieon almost wonders if she’s being nice to him for a reason - but quickly kicks that thought away because he literally just said such an unreasonable thing, and he should stop seeing yein like some crazy, scheming mastermind.
“sorry, i phrased that wrong,” he apologizes. rieon doesn’t want yein to think he actually believes she’s some kind of villain, even if she does bully (like, in a friendly way?) and tease him a lot. “what i said your character fits you, i meant that in a calc--” he pauses, realizing what he was about to say wasn’t a very positive comment either, sighs at himself, then tries again. “--in an intelligent way because, you know, only someone smart and meticulous could orchestrate such a plan.” rieon doesn’t think what he managed to say isn’t any better, nor does he think he really got his initial thought--that he really didn’t mean in a bad way--across so he decides to just stop attempting to or else he might say something even worse that’ll he regret more.
“what i’m trying to say is i think you're a good actress and that your role is fun. even if she’s crazy, she’s one of those characters that people would look forward to seeing every episode because they want to know what she’d do next.” there, that’s more like what he wanted to say. “huh. so maybe you did have a part in writing the script then.” rieon grins teasingly this time and finally laughs. “i expect to see your name in the writing credits then, miss yein.”
Some ways off, he could see the staff move things around, the chatter between them little more than a dull rumble. There was no doubt that they’d have to do this at least once more before preparing for Inwoo’s death. Moving his gaze back over to the other, Taiyou reached over and patted him on the shoulder in an attempt to ease him. “It’s really not that bad. We still have a bit more to do and for all I know I might hit you too.” Of course he hoped he wouldn’t but as he had just experienced, some things just happened. “How about whoever hits the other most pays for dinner,” he offered with a gentle genuineness to him.
rieon couldn’t help but wonder if it really is okay or not, and he wants to press more so he can be one-hundred percent sure that taiyou isn’t hurt badly but if the other doesn’t seem willing then who is he to force him? it was his fault for hitting him, anyways, so the best thing he can do now is respect the other’s decision and accept his words as is, right? he still feels bad, that won’t easily go away, but at least taiyou is treating him kindly still and isn’t trying to make it a big deal--and judging by how staff didn’t seem too affected by the mishap either, maybe it was just rieon over exaggerating--so he lets out a breath of relief before nodding. “i guess you have a point,” he finally says, albeit slowly as he’s still trying to process everything. “and now that this has happened, i’ll be more careful in the next takes so it won’t happen again.” once, he can write it off as an accident, but twice? that would just him being careless.
he’s able to laugh though, hearing taiyou’s comment, and he smiles for the first time since they first started filming this scene. “i’m almost hope you do now just to make things even.” rieon intends for his words come out jokingly but part of him does feel like that could be his karma, too. “we’re supposed to be fighting in this scene anyways so i guess you could say we’re going for realism?” he snorts and shakes his head but it quickly dissipates, and rieon’s eyes widen slightly instead, not expecting such a suggestion even if taiyou’s only teasing. “now that you say that, i should be the one to offer you a meal,” he replies honestly. “actually, please let me treat you to dinner or something? i do feel bad about hitting you even if it was an accident.”
in a corner of rieon’s mind, he knew that one day, he might have to play a role where he acts in love with someone; he just didn’t expect it to come so soon and like this. he’s more than willing to audition for whatever this may be because as always, any experience is worth having, but when he finds out what they have to do... well. he can’t help but (internally) sigh.
acting like someone’s boyfriend--or more specifically for this audition, their first love--wouldn’t be so bad if there was a script already written and he was told what to do. to him, it feels less embarrassing that way, as opposed to having to come up with a scenario--and film it--on his own like they’re being asked to.
not for the first time this year, rieon wonders if he’s somehow made a mistake or bitten of more than he could chew but he’s come this far so he can’t very well give up and turn away; no, he’ll just have to bite his tongue, suppress the minor regret he’s feeling already, and push forward.
with the camera set up at a distance and angle to (hopefully) imitate a first person point of view, rieon gets into position and signals for his friend to start recording. he had borrowed a meeting room withing legacy, thinking it could pass as a university classroom or lecture hall or something, to fit his scenario. then, he sits down and pretends as if he’s writing something in the notebook he has laid out in front of him.
after a few moments, he looks up and glances towards the camera in an almost slow-mo, as if its the viewer who’s caught his eyes. his expression slowly changes from one that’s blank to a wider smile meant only for the viewer, before he picks up his notebook and points at the message he had written.
it’s here that camera is tilted slightly and zoomed in to focus on said message, where it says: ‘wait for me after class?’ the background then changes to one that’s outside and rieon is back to being the focus, although this time his back is facing the camera.
a moment later though, he turns around as if his name was called by the viewer in the very typical--and cliche--manner you’d expect from a drama, a bright smile on his face. “here you go,” he says happily while handing the cup of coffee to the camera (which his friend then takes for the sake of seamless footage). “i got your usual-- what? of course i know what you like,” he teases, even play-pouting as if he's hurt that his partner doesn’t believe him. “i still remember from our first date. it was cold out just like today, right?”
rieon pauses at that moment, acting like he suddenly notices something then pulls off the scarf he was wearing and wraps it around his partner (read: his friend)’s neck with a gentle look on his face. “i told you to bundle up when it’s cold out! it’s not spring yet, you know? i don’t want you to get sick,” he lightly scolds as he finishes up. leaning back to admire his ‘work’, rieon flashes a satisfied smile and lets out a small laugh. “if you did though, i’ll visit you with your favourite snacks to cheer you up but i’d feel better if you stay healthy, okay? we can’t go on another date if you’re not feeling well!”

this is an event plot call for rieon!! this is mostly for LGC SPRING BOYS ( rieon is in the VOLLEYBALL club & COOL/BAD BOYS group + the HIGH TIER results of the placement test & TEAM AJ/SECOND PLACE for the team match game ) but i can still take on more BULLET INQUIRY threads for him in general as well! if you’d like to plot for either, please like or reply with what specifically and i will message you!! 👉👈
in regards to lgc spring boys specifically, rieon signed up on a whim because he just missed dancing so he’s very [surprised pikachu] seeing he was chosen, since y’know, he didn’t think he would be picked over actual idol trainees. but!! he’s gonna do his best because he genuinely likes dancing, maybe lowkey wonders if he should’ve stayed on the idol path and just committed to it more instead of seeing it as something he felt obligated to do (*insert backstory about this here*), and he doesn’t want to hold anyone back! pls feel free to side eye him and wonder why he’s been chosen though, since he should probably be focusing on acting... on another note, he’s gonna have a lot of fun with the activities and games though (he will be most looking forward to the spring market food tour ngl) so count on him to pull through!!!!
MINI TRACKER ⋆
lgc spring boys - @lgcseojin (plotting) / @hyuntaelgc (plotting) / always open to more & willing to thread more than required!
i’ll probably return at another time with a more general plot call but i wanted to save that for when i’ve come up with some more plot ideas and stuff!! however, if anyone happens to be interested, feel free to message me to start brainstorming :) you can probably get more consistent replies by messaging me on @lgcharu since i check his account the most but feel free to send a follow request and/or dm to my rp twt as well if that’s better! i do have a discord but i do not check it often so it’s harder to reach me there unfortunately 😭
rieon didn’t really think of himself as a go-getter, or the type to jump at any opportunity presented to him. sure, he liked a challenge (after all, he would’ve never switched to acting if he was content with staying the same) but he wouldn’t have thought he was someone who’d go out of his way for something that wasn’t his focus. maybe he had changed since being signed to legacy agency and was now more open-minded about offers that came his way, and more willing to try anything for the experience so although modeling wasn’t a path he had considered much, there was no harm in trying, right? perhaps his time with baskin robbins played a part in convincing himself to audition for holly’s coffee as well.
so he shows up on the day of, with a good amount of sleep and a pep talk for himself, just in case. when his name is called, he enters the room and smiles at the representatives lined up in front. he spots the table and chair set up next and goes to stand in front of it, before bowing to the reps and smiling wider. “hello! i’m oh rieon, from legacy agency. thank you for your time today,” he begins first, making eye contact with each person as part of his greeting. rieon’s briefed on the audition afterwards and directs his attention to the provided props, wondering which to choose.
the iced coffee was his immediate initial pick but he also thought it might be too safe, and also something he’s too used to drinking so he might not be able to show a good reaction. although he knows he could just act--as he should--it didn’t feel right to choose it for this audition so it was down to the strawberry cake and squeeze lemon tea. with the latter, he could probably go for a refreshing-type audition but for some reason, his eyes kept glancing at the cake; almost like it was telling him to pick it. rieon was hesitant though because he’s not exactly a sweets person so he didn’t like anything too sugary-tasting. it’s also why his usual coffee order was an iced americano or latte if he was feeling like he wanted something ‘more’.
but that could be fun to attempt, he reasons to himself. he also needs to make a decision fast so he doesn’t keep the representatives waiting any longer so deciding to trust his gut, he selects the cake and places it on the table. then, he stations himself a few steps away before saying he’s ready, and he begins the audition.
rieon enters the scene as if he was being guided into the room by someone else and he was blindfolded, like he was about to be surprised. he mimes taking the blindfold off and looks around the room as if trying to gain his bearings when his gaze settles on the cake he had placed earlier. with his eyes widening for a moment, he quickly schools it into a more neutral expression and pretends to look around himself again, this time like he was looking at the people who surprised him. “for me?” he asks, a slight smile on his face, as he walks closer to the table and sits down. “i can’t believe you guys remembered my birthday, i didn’t even tell anyone,” he lets out a laugh and picks the cake up, moving it back and forth so he could inspect all of it - and also show it off to the reps, in his attempt to advertise it like a product placement. rieon makes sure to look at it in amazement, although it’s not exactly hard to since it does look good.
he proceeds to act as if there was a candle in it, pretends to blow it out after making a wish, and then the most important part of the audition: he tries it. with a fork full of the cake, rieon pops the bite into his mouth and after a moment, widens his eyes in shock before swallowing and taking another bite, this time with more exuberance. it’s only after another bite of savouring and enjoying the cake that he finally says, “wow. this is so good!” and he means it. rieon is surprised the cake is not as sweet as he expected and he honestly likes it; he could eat the entire slice if this wasn’t an audition honestly. because he’s been told he makes eating look appealing, he hopes his feelings are properly conveyed as he continues with his act.
“the cake isn’t overly sweet so it’s perfect for someone like me, who tends to not like super sweet things. the strawberries are refreshing and give the soft cake another taste, too,” he praises, only belatedly realizing that maybe they weren’t looking for a review and wanted more of his reaction so he pauses then grins as his way of getting back into ‘character’ and says, “let’s share this together!”
rieon ends his audition there, standing up to bow to the representatives again and thanks them for their time once more. he can only hope he didn’t mess up now and wish for the best; but deep down, he was already not expecting much. at the very least, he hopes his genuine enjoyment was conveyed.
In the moment, these last few months felt as if Taiyou was at his busiest. Between filming for the new drama, his personal channel, and stuff pertaining to his brand, it felt as if the company was doing the most to keep him constantly busy. He wasn’t complaining; to his surprise, he found himself enjoying partaking in a variety of projects, but when they had introduced him to Planet Influencer, he didn’t know what to think. At first he had wondered if a language barrier had prevented him from understanding, but upon further explanation, it was clear that they were being asked to sell a random array of items.
There was some comfort in the fact that he was being asked to work with someone else, but still he couldn’t help the lines which formed on his forehead even as he looked up at Rieon from his seated position on the floor. “It would be too dangerous to use them like this,” he commented, stretching one of the rubber bands over his fingers as if to shoot in the other’s direction, but as soon as he finished speaking he lowered his weapon. “We could use rubber bands to make jewelry, or maybe…” The model let his words trail off as he attempted to collect his thoughts. “Since it’s for a video, maybe we could make up a game?”
rieon is momentarily caught off guard when he sees taiyou pointing his makeshift rubber band gun in his direction and he’s sure the surprise is clear on his face but it doesn’t last long, for he’s soon laughing at the action and grabbing one of the rubber bands himself to fiddle with. “it would but didn’t we all do this in school when we were kids?” he asks conversationally, amused at the memories of the stupid things he and the other children his age would get up to. “i bet it was easier for us when we were younger to make up uses for everyday objects like this stuff too,” he chuckles again at the thought, although part of him feels wistful about how much easier things seemed back then.
“hmm, i wouldn’t have thought of jewelry,” he nods, considering the idea as he looks at the item in question with more seriousness than he ever thought he would need to. "rubber band rings? we could use these different coloured ones together... maybe try to match them with these hair clips?” rieon is just rambling off what comes to mind first, hoping something might catch on or just click and they’d have a solid idea to work with but when he hears taiyou’s suggestion, he lifts his head up to look at the other with interest. “that could be fun. what kind of game?”
Once the director had called for the scene to end so the crew could reposition the cameras for a secondary angel, Taiyou eventually found his footing, fingers still clasped around the prop gun. “Are you okay?” He asked Rieon, panting slightly as he reached out to offer the younger man some assistance in standing. He smiles, the corner of his chin still aching a little, and he raises the back of his other hand to tenderly touch the spot. “Ah, I think you got me,” he commented, though his voice was light. He had a feeling that it was bound to happen at some point.
the day had arrived of the one scene rieon probably dreaded the most. he was obviously going to give his all to filming and he of course wanted to do a good job but he was just so worried, he felt nervous and anxious the night before and all morning too. even though they had undergone training for these action scenes and had the help of the camera angles and cuts so they didn’t have to literally fight, they still had to be convincing. with all these thoughts and worries flying around in his head, rieon had to admit he was not working with an entirely clear mind so before he knows what’s happening, the punch he's supposed to stop right before it actually hits taiyou keeps going and makes contact with the other’s chin.
rieon’s eyes go wide for a moment and he wants to apologize so badly right there but since the director hasn’t called cut yet, and the current angle they’re filming at doesn’t completely show his face (he hopes, at least), he has no choice but to remain in character and try to wrap up the scene as best as he can considering the circumstances. the entire time though, he feels so bad and his mind is screaming at him in panic that he’s not sure how he finishes without further incident but he’s never been more glad to hear the director’s voice.
immediately, he goes to apologize to taiyou only for the other to speak first - but the words that came out of his mouth leave rieon feeling dumbfounded. “i should be the one asking you that,” he returns, concern obvious in his voice and face as he accepts the hand being held out, allowing himself to be pulled up. “i’m so sorry, i really did mean to stop in time...” now that he’s standing, rieon feels slightly better but seeing taiyou touch the area he accidentally punched has rieon feeling worse again. “like really sorry... you’re not hurt too bad are you? we should probably get you checked out,” he rambles on, eyes already searching around for someone he can ask to help.
“did you see?” yein walks up to rieon, arms crossed over her chest. “i’m the person who orchestrated the whole thing.” the days on set are long and sometimes boring, but at least she gets to be around her friends, even if that friend is rieon and gets on her nerves. “i’m just saying, maybe if you were nicer to me you would have lived longer.”
rieon had no idea what he was getting himself into when he auditioned for ‘bullet inquiry’ - hell, he wasn’t even expecting to be cast. he had hoped, of course, but he tried to keep his expectations low in case he wasn’t chosen at all.
except it turned out that he did get cast, and for a role that he felt would be a real test of what little skills he had so far (does he even have any, honestly? he truly can’t say if someone asked) to the point that he wondered why he was even picked to portray seo inwoo. he was all for the character actually, until he got to the part in the script where inwoo cracks basically and literally has to fight for his life against taiyou’s character; reading that scene made him horrified, partly because of the content but mostly because he had to pull that off. this might be the most nerve-wracking thing rieon’s ever had to do so to say he’s worried is an understatement.
at least, filming that scene wouldn’t be for a while yet so rieon hoped that by the time they got to it, he would understand inwoo as a character better and feel much more natural playing him. however, his mind always kept straying to that part whenever he had time to think to himself which was kind of taking a toll on him - so he’s glad to see yein approaching him so he can focus on something--or rather, someone--else more.
“your character is somehow very fitting for you,” he remarks with a smirk, crossing his own arms over his chest as well like he’s challenging her. “i wouldn’t put it past you to orchestrate an entire killing game.” rieon’s joking, of course, but he does think yein is capable of orchestrating a plan as grand as the drama’s for something she wanted, even if it didn’t involve killing.
with a raise of his brow, he snorts. “i don’t think me being nicer to you would’ve changed anything in the drama.” besides, the script for the entire series was already out so he knew inwoo’s reason for dying wasn’t literally what yein is saying. “what, did you take part in writing the script too?”

in his head, rieon understands the concept of ‘planet influencer’ and why the actors and models were tasked with creating short-form CFs for it but he also is self aware enough to know that he is not very creative when it comes to these kinds of things. as he looks at the spread of items in front of them that they’re supposed to come up with ideas for, he not only feels this even more but he’s also sadly reminded of this fact. he would much prefer if someone else comes up with the idea and just gives him a script and instructions on what to do for the videos but unfortunately with the filming schedule for ‘bullet inquiry’ it turned out that he really only had the time to participate in the planning stages.
what he really wants to do is let out a long, heavy sigh but he doesn’t want to show just how unexcited he is for this and thought it’d be better to try and be as positive about this as he can so he would suffer less. still, he can’t help but show some reluctance as he picks up the bag of rubber bands and looks at it with a confused expression before glancing at taiyou with uncertainty. “so, how are we supposed to market rubber bands that would make people want to buy them right then and there?” he places the item back on the table then holds the wrench up, a disbelieving look on his face. “and a wrench? i don’t get what they’re trying to have us accomplish here, if i’m being honest.” maybe he will let out a sigh after all at this rate.
one thing yuri can do that wouldn’t waste any of legacy’s resources is to conduct his own soft inquiry, starting with the seniors he is acquainted with like @lgcrieon. catching the older man as he’s walking down the hallway, yuri displays a particular smile—one that usually means he wants something from you. “hey, hyung. a penny for your thoughts?”
rieon’s learned that it’s not weird to be stopped in the middle of the hallways at legacy, whether it be by someone you know (or not) because sometimes, happening to pass by each other on the way to somewhere else really is the only way to meet up with--or find--certain people some days. with how different everyone’s schedule is if you’re not in the same group or career as another, it becomes increasingly more difficult to see who you want to see when you’d like to.
these days, even he’s been managing to keep himself busier than he thought he would be (or rather, legacy has) with work and other jobs. it’s still strange to him, honestly, that he’s actually being cast in roles and given certain opportunities that he would’ve never anticipated - to the point that it doesn’t feel real. rieon is still stuck in the mindset that he’s an unknown so the fact that he has fans? or that people might actually look to him as a senior? it’s weird. he can’t get used to it yet.
seeing yuri makes him push those thoughts aside though, which he’s glad to do anyways (too much deep thinking for a stroll through the building when he’s just on his way to grab something to eat). “whats up?” he asks in return, only noticing the look on yuri’s face after he’s already acknowledged him. rieon knows that expression - and sometimes it’s not good. if he was smiling before, it falters slightly, his voice now sounding a bit uncertain as he continues speaking. “uh, i don’t know what you’re going to ask me but if it’s something i can answer, i’ll do my best?” he would very rarely say no to someone in help, after all.
🌟 / coaching memory ⋆ backdated to late december, 2021.
"oh rieon. stay back for a bit.”
hearing his name in that tone makes rieon stop in his tracks. he was just gathering up his belongings, preparing to leave the studio along with all the other trainees as they had just finished their lesson for the day, when he was called back. everyone knew that most of the time, being asked to stay behind the others never meant anything good.
biting down on his lower lip, he drops what he was doing and waits dutifully for the room to empty (and pointedly ignores all the pitiful and sympathetic glances thrown his way from the others as they left) before walking over to the coach, a solemn expression on his face. the silence in the room is deafening and does nothing to hide or distract from how fast his heart is beating. he’s not sure what he did wrong or what he’s about to be scolded for but whatever it is, he just has to take it.
“oh rieon. do you even want to be an idol?”
if there was ever music playing in the background like some ost to a movie, it would’ve came to a screeching halt just now - at least that’s how it felt in rieon’s head. that very question haunted--plagued--his mind, really; it was something he constantly thought about ever since he joined legacy, turning it over and over and over in his brain.
the truth: not really.
the reality: even if it wasn’t truly what he desired, it was still something he wanted to do.
why, though?
it felt ridiculous even to himself, if he were to admit out loud to someone other than his best friend--the whole reason he even auditioned in the first place--that his sole reason for continuing his training was a promise he made with said friend, even after they were forced to quit due to an injury.
‘we’re going to debut together, right?’
and then:
‘even if i can’t debut, you can still do it in my place.’
that’s just how it was. rieon is someone who would readily put others before himself; someone who expects very little for his own gains because there was probably someone more deserving who desperately wanted to be here.
but him? he just wanted to keep a promise to a friend. however that promise was not something he genuinely wanted for himself, and that was--is--the problem. what does he want?
the coach stares at him with a leveled gaze, one that seems to see through rieon completely. it probably does, honestly, because rieon knows he’s not the most committed trainee in the room most days. he does what he needs to, doesn’t slip up in what’s expected of them, and most importantly: doesn’t stand out - for good reasons, anyways. clearly, he stood out for another reason.
he’d be a fool to think he could fly under the radar of people whose jobs were to pick out their faults in the name of improvement, but he'd be even more of a fool to think that he wouldn’t be called out for it eventually if he continued that way knowing this.
oh rieon is no fool so this was entirely expected - he just didn’t know when it would happen.
“well?” the coach says one more time, eyes scrutinizing and patience obviously growing thin. “i don’t have all day, you know. if you’re not committed to improving then why are you even here? why are you wasting all of our time?”
rieon purses his lips together, although it’s not like he can fight back. everything the coach is saying is true, after all. what is he trying to do by staying here?
“your dancing is good, you’re not the worst singer or rapper, you even have decent enough stage presence. you can do better yet you have shown no will or desire to, despite going into your third year here. what is your goal?”
he knows. rieon knows what it is he actually wants to do; what he’s been too afraid to actually say outside of his innermost thoughts because if he did, it would be too real for him to ignore anymore.
if he did, he wouldn’t be able to keep his promise to his best friend anymore.
if he did, he’d have no choice but to confront it head on and commit to it.
the coach lets out a deep, heavy sigh, one that’s frustrated and disappointed. rieon hears it all too loud and knows he has to say something. anything or he may be kicked out for good. and then what would he be able to do after that? legacy was his best shot at everything and here he was, risking it all just because he couldn’t be honest.
“if you’re not going to say anything, then--”
“i want to act.”
the coach pauses, eyes widening ever so slightly before returning to their default, neutral state. he doesn’t say anything at first, as if he’s waiting for rieon to elaborate but he’s not sure if there’s anything else he can say right now - so he just repeats the words he uttered just moments ago.
“i just want to try acting. being an idol isn’t where my interests are at the moment.”
the coach is silent for a few moments still and rieon swears every second that passes and prolongs the quiet feels like an hour. then, the coach nods once, the movement swift but deliberate.
“okay,” is all he says before he places a hand on rieon’s shoulder and gives it a pat. the next thing he knows, the coach is walking towards the door, leaving rieon to stare after him as he exits the room. it’s only after many minutes have passed of rieon still standing in the middle of the studio--the same spot he remained in since their talk--that he realizes the coach was smiling as he left.
and rieon? contrary to everything that just transpired, he felt lighter. freer. like the clouds had parted and the sky was clear. and well, he couldn’t help but smile, too.
rieon couldn’t believe he was actually saying this but-- he missed dancing. it’s not surprising that ever since moving to lgc agency, he hasn’t had as many opportunities for dance practices and lessons like before (except for during the musical preparations, of course, but that wasn’t really the type of dancing he had in mind) but it was one of the few things he enjoyed when he was still an idol trainee. maybe it’s because dance was the thing he was best at, that it contributed to why he liked it so much but whatever the reason, that’s just how he feels now.
so on a free day, he searches for a free practice room in the company to use for this purpose. rieon has half a mind to see if there is anyone he can convince to practice with him like another idol trainee so he can get right back into the groove of things or instead, maybe he would just try to learn some popular idol choreography for fun. either way, he needed a room but unfortunately, every one he passed by and looked into seemed full.
with a sigh, he continues making his way down the hallway, stopping at the last practice room on the floor. rieon takes a peek through the window, only to see that there is someone in there - but they’re alone and the room is obviously big enough for more people. would they let him share the space? it didn’t hurt to ask, right? so he takes a breath and opens the door, entering the room and waiting until there was a moment of silence for him to speak up.
“hey,” he says as loudly as he can to make sure the person can hear him. their back is facing him and they don’t seem to have noticed him through the mirror either so best to be sure they notice him. “sorry to bother you but would you mind sharing the room with me? everywhere else is all full.”

she crosses her arms over her chest as she watches him laugh with an unamused expression. “is it so hard for you to just say something nice about me?”
"you don’t know if i like cherries or not,” he returns, challenging, and perhaps maybe sounding a bit petulant out of petty childishness. rieon supposes yein isn’t wrong exactly; he’s neither here or there for cherries as a fruit but he also wouldn’t exactly be reaching for something cherry-flavored either.
he guesses cherry stuff are cute visually though - at least that’s what he’s learned from others and seeing how popular they are on items and stuff. is that what yein is trying to say?
“if you really don’t value my opinion that much then why does starting your day right depend on me complimenting you?” rieon raises a brow, wondering how yein will respond to that before snorting then shaking his head, continuing to focus on walk alongside her. with how busy the sidewalks are that are full of lots of people, he can’t help but feel like he needs to pay attention to their surroundings and watch where they’re going more than usual which is why he walks on the outside of yein, closest to the streets just in case.
the image of yein crossing her arms over her chest and very obviously getting fed up with him makes rieon chuckle again, and he decides maybe he should stop teasing her, now that he’s had his fun. “it’s not but i think it’s entertaining seeing you work so hard to get me to say it,” he admits with a playful grin. “and if i can get a free coffee out of it then how could i not be difficult?”
at that moment, rieon notices a sign for the place they were looking for and stops in his steps. “is this it?” he asks her, still purposely not calling her cute (yet, anyways).
