Happy Pride Month!!! 🌈💕🌼✨
I’m a queer refugee advocate still surviving in a refugee camp, fighting every day to support other LGBTQ+ refugees who have been abandoned, displaced, threatened, and forgotten.
We are trying to survive impossible conditions while building safety for one another — sharing food, helping with medicine, emotional support, shelter needs, and standing together when the world looks away.
But we cannot survive on hope alone.
Today, I’m asking for help. If you can donate, no matter how small, you are helping queer refugees survive another day with dignity. If you can’t donate, please reblog, share, and help this reach someone who can.
Every share matters. Every donation matters. Every voice matters.
We are still here. We are still fighting. And we are asking the world not to look away.

FORGOTTEN BUT STILL FIGHTING
As an LGBTIQ+ Refugee living in a camp , everyday feels like a fight against invisibility.
We fled violence ,hatred and rejection only to find ourselves abandoned once again, left to survive in places where our identities are still unsafe
We are not just number , we are human being with dreams , love and hope for a life where we can simply exist without fear
Please don’t forget us
Our voices matter. Our lives matter, We need safety, dignity and the chance to leave freely just like everyone else
Apparently Twitch now wants lgbtq related streams to flag themselves as "sensitive social issue".
Make some noise about this bullshit! Our existence is not an issue. Catering to bigots is disgusting and shameful.
Petition link to remove this "guideline" again:

LGBTIQ+ REFUGEES DESERVE VISIBILITY ESPECIALLY LESBIANS
In refugee camps and shelters, being LGBTIQ+ can mean leaving in constant fear. For Lesbian Refugees Invisibility is often a survival tactic but invisibility also means erasure .
Lesbian Refugees face alot of type of danger :Homophobia, Sexism, Racism, Tribalism and xenophobia . Their stories often silenced even within LGBTIQ+ spaces . They deserve more than just survival, they deserve, visibility, support and safety
Visibility isn’t just about being seen it’s being about protected, respected and uplifted. It’s about creating spaces where no one has to hide to stay alive
Today and everyday we stand with lesbian refugees. We fight for a future where their identities aren’t risk, but sources of pride and strength
NO WHERE TO RUN
In the shadows cast by barbed wires crown They wait unheard where hope breaks down. A camp they call it safe secure But the truth is harder to endure
Their Hearts Once dared to bloom with pride But now that love they have to hide. For in this place where boarder end. A rainbow flag can cost a Friend.
The whispers cut like winter air. Eyes linger longer than they dare. The quiet threat ,the loud disdain. Each moment holds a hint of pain
What sanctuary lets hatred in Where kindness counts as secret sin Where being true invites a fight. And hiding means surviving night.
No prayer for safety finds its way Through guards who turn their eyes away. No justice walks these gravel roads Only silence , heavy loads.
But still they live and still they burn. With dreams that guard can never turn They carry colors deep inside. And walk with dignity not pride
So write their names upon the sky And not let their stories die For even in the darkest lands They hold the light in trembling hands
Are LGBTIQ refugees safe in East African refugee camps ?
Yes
No

LGBTIQ+ Refugees who have been forced to flee their home have been forced to persecution based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Often face significant challenges in adapting to new environments including cultural shock, finding employment and navigating legal systems.
Many LGBTQ+ Refugees experience discrimination and violence in new countries as well and require support and resources to rebuild their lives
Here are some key aspects of LGBT Refugee Stories
Motivation for fleeing: LGBTQ+ individuals may flee their home countries due to legal prohibitions against same sex relationships, social stigma or fear of violence and discrimination
Challenges Navigating asylum. Many LGBTQ refugees face difficulties in proving the basis of their asylum claims , as some countries may not recognize sexual orientation or gender identity as grounds for persecution
Experiences in New Countries. LGBTIQ refugees encounter discrimination,Social isolation and difficulties in finding housing, employment, healthcare
Support Systems and Resources. LGBTIQ refugees once in exile are cut off from access to many needs as camps are placed in rural areas and in communities that don’t associate with any LGBT person thus cutting off access to domestic needs
LGBTIQ* Individuals need financial support to maintain there stay in camps away from where they are persecuted. Step in as there lives are in your hands
