nyc - great gatsby on broadway ⚜️
entry #1: 7:38am - today i get to go to new york city to see great gatsby on broadway! it’s a school trip and we get some free time to shop, so i’m very excited. i tried to pick an outfit with great gatsby vibes over just new york vibes and i love it so much, and i will definitely be taking pictures. the stores i’m most excited for are probably sephora (its huge), m&m store (nostalgic), and this one cute anime store me and my friends saw when we were looking for shops. we all agreed it would be super fun for pictures because it’s rainy today, which throws off all our picture taking ideas. i suggested a fancy hotel lobby too because we can’t get in trouble for being in a public space and it would fit the vibe with some of our outfits. i’m sitting with my friends on the bus too and i packed plenty of snacks. sometimes i get carsick so im hoping with music and the window i’ll be okay. if we do get good pics, i want to post to new york by addison rae of course. i’ll update when we get to the buses and when we get there!
entry 2: 8:51am - we just got on the bus, i’m sitting next to my friend now. my friend in 1st period braided my hair so now i have everything done to look nice. i feel cute and fancy, i’m super excited. i’m going to change into my skirt closer to when we get there just to stay warm while on the bus. me and my friend are switching seats on the ride back so then we both get a chance to sit by the window. the bus is nice too, it’s the one with a bathroom, TVs, and overhead compartments. i can’t wait to get to new york!
entry #3: 11:49am - we’re in the city now, we arrived a bit later than expected so we won’t have as much time to shop. we have to find some food first too so that sets us back even more. but i’m in new york so i’m still happy. we still will have time for food, pictures, and maybe some shopping and i think we’ll be able to make the best of our time. i changed into my skirt a little while ago and i feel more put together now. i think we’re going to raising canes for food and to be honest i don’t really want any of that, but i am hungry so hopefully i find something. and i’ll be sure to take lots of pictures of everything!!
entry #4: 1:53pm - we are at the theatre now, im sitting with the same friend i sat with on the bus. we took some cute pictures, but we didn’t have much time to shop. we went to sephora but that was the only we got to on my list, and i didn’t find food. but i still had a lot of fun and enjoyed being with everyone. i’m super excited for the show and i’m going to look at the playbill. i can update during intermission if i have time but i really want to try to get some sort of souvenir.
entry #5: 5:37pm- on the bus yet again! we thankfully had about 15 extra minutes to walk before the buses got back, so i found a little convenience store that had a crazy variety of snacks and food. i ended up finding the ice creams that look like the fruits they’re flavored as and i got mandarin. i wasn’t sure if it’d actually even be good but it was and i really enjoyed it. the show was amazing, the cast was incredible and all the songs were great, but i think my favorite was the one Wolfsheim sang. all the costumes were so cool, and it motivated me even more to learn to sew. i might try to take a nap soon while we’re on our way back.
entry #6: 9:29pm - i’m finally back home after a very fun and eventful day. i had some soup for dinner and showered and now i’m going to be getting ready for school tomorrow. overall, i’m really happy with how today went. it was an amazing day where nothing felt like it went wrong or kept me upset throughout the day, and i feel like i haven’t had one of those in a long time. even though i was dreading the trip a bit at first because of certain people that would also be there, i had a good time and i’m glad nothing got in the way of that. hopefully the same thing happens for prom which is on saturday.
