Project 165

AKA what my entire blog is about

I'm going to try to keep this short, but let's be honest, I'm going to ramble a little bit, so TL;DR: Project 165 is my story! I'm obsessed with it and it's probably going to be most of what I post, so I figured I would infodump a bit so people actually know what they're getting into. Synopsis below <3

Synopsis: A sickly young boy, destined for nothing but a slow and painful death, is “gifted” with the ability to speak to monsters. In a world overrun with them, such a gift is extraordinary. And catches the attention of the Institute for Monster Research and Control. Ripped from his home by his lover and forced into a new world, Simon must learn to fight tooth and claw for the survival of him and his newfound friends, no matter how much it hurts. And it will hurt. 

This story will cover triggering topics such as: verbal and physical abuse, manipulation, transphobia, and homophobia. I will be adding TWs for any posts that cover this, but if these are triggering topics for you, this might not be the story for you. Thanks for dropping by though! Chances are that most of this will not be explicitly shown in art or otherwise, but it may be alluded to, discussed, or vaguely mentioned. Also note that I do not always condone/support the actions of my characters. I am trying to tell a story.

14. Do they have a favorite food? How often do they have it?

He doesn't have a favorite in particular. He likes genres of food! He prefers savory over sweet and has a particular fondness for spicy food. He's also a big fan of Mexican food! He just hates anything bland.

15. Did they have a life before this?

Not for long, but it was a good one while it lasted. He's happier now, to an extent.

17. Do they have a "squick" in their job? Something that bugs them (like blood under their nails) or pisses them off?

4. Do they groom themselves? What details about their appearance are chosen by other people?

Simon is forced to groom himself meticulously, to the point where he can be seen as obsessed with his appearance. During his time in the IMRC, his outfit, hair, and weight were all dictated by his "owner", Matthias. Because he was frequently sold for services, he was held to a very high standard and required to remain "conventionally attractive". Since leaving, he has let go of this, but only slightly.

5. How obedient are they? Are they defiant or more compliant?

This one really depends on when you look at it. At the start, Simon was perfectly obedient! Anxious and unsure, yeah, but when he was told to do something, he would. Then he grew up and the excuse of "I'm doing this because I love you" didn't quite work anymore. He got more rebellious, started talking back, and it really only got worse from there as the mistreatment increased.
