levi gave the kitsune a look when he said he’d only have rocks to entertain himself with. he hoped this one was furnished differently, either way he knew that was a lie. “not true. i will have my sketchbook. you promise that you’re giving me one, right? you need to promise.” the human urged, he was in a better mood. levi was still cautious though, his guard was still up. he knew how unpredictable kohl could be. because this moment they were having now was very unpredictable. levi let the other take the collar from him, watching the way it flowed in the light of the fire. turning slightly, he faced kohl a bit more after he spoke. “i’m not the whole problem.” levi said carefully. “don’t make me out to be some miserable unpleasant thing.” levi murmured, he didn’t want to be that person. but did kohl not understand what a hard adjustment this whole life had been for him? on top of that, he already had anger problems that were just amplified around kohl when he was aggressive towards him too. “i want to be good for you,” came his next whispered words. he wasn’t sure where this was coming from, but maybe he was realizing that he didn’t want it to be so hard. he wanted to try. maybe if they didn’t constantly butt heads him and kohl could be…okay around each other.
Kohl hadn’t meant Levi but he wouldn’t be the first to admit that he had problems that needed to be fixed. Upon Levi’s urging, he merely nodded, the smirk still there. “I promise.” It was a simple phrase, one that held very little leverage with the Kitsune but he didn’t mind. He liked the whispered words that followed Levi’s admission of guilt, Kohl’s head tilted slightly to watch him mouth the words. His thumb continued to idly stroke the skin on the small of his back, eyes moving down to find the collar next to his leg. He picked it up as he eyed it and moved to gently replace it back around the pet’s neck.
“And I want you to be proud to wear that collar.” His candor was strange, even on his own tongue. It tasted sweet like rose water but came with a bitter aftertaste. He paused for a moment before patting the slave’s back. “Go.” He began, patting him again. “Go gather your things. We’re going to my home.” Well, the home. Either way, he shooed the pet off to gather what he had from his room and meet him by the door. He didn’t feel like staying here again tonight. He wanted a change of scenery.
After gathering Levi and boarding one of his carriages, they set out for the mansion on the other side of Aeternum. With the derelict home disappearing behind them, he settled into the carriage, watching Levi when he could but focusing on the scenery as it passed. When they neared the home, he began to smirk again. It was a much prettier home and he was happier to be there. The other mansion was irritating to him. As they neared it and the carriage came to a stop, he stepped from the carriage and helped Levi out. “Quite an upgrade, hmm?” He questioned, staring up at the castle-like mansion.
