Context: My tiefling cleric has this penchant for trying to befriend unusual creatures that the DM keeps introducing as encounters, which includes a dracolisk and a semi-sentient ball of fire. As the party was exploring an island, we came upon a group of kobolds that the leader wanted to question. As I was falling asleep mid-session, I have no idea how we got into “combat,” but I snapped awake just as the DM said this…

DM: In its confusion, one of the kobolds claws at its own neck and falls unconscious as it begins bleeding out.

Me: Wait, what? No! I run over to the kobold to stabilize it!

DM: Okay, it is no longer bleeding.

Me: I use Rebuke Death to heal it, then call out to the rest of the kobolds in draconic that if they gather to me, I can keep them safe.

DM: That’s going to require diplomacy.

Me: 43.

DM: …Okay, you now have a collection of kobolds gathered around you.

Me: I begin tending to their injuries, as I have decided to adopt them.

DM: You can’t just adopt a tribe of kobolds!

Me: My 43 diplomacy calls you a liar.

Can there be a ‘good’ cult.

Can there be a good cult where the leader can be rational and people don’t have to drink the koolaid and abuse doesn’t happen, or is that forever tainted.

Could someone like myself take it back. Make a cult where live and let live, grow marijuana, live in wood heated cabins, live on a farm and don’t live with excess because everything is provided. Access to the outside world, with the safety of being included in a community that cares about your needs before their own.

A community where everyone has a place that isn’t a constant rat race.
