so… not sure if anyone has use for this… but many years ago I asked midgethetree how I could make my own default burglar music. I followed the steps given and was proud af of it. lmao and after like 4 years, I've finally decided to share seeing as how no one else has done it (that I know of). this is for anyone who finds the sims 2 or sims 1t2 burglar music jarring.
probably should've shared during spooky season lol but I hope someone has use for it! this is my first ever upload so lmk if there's an issue.

Community Time makes The Sims 2 feel more alive: time keeps passing on your home lot while your Sims are out at a community lot, so when you return they aren't magically back home yet - they arrive after the time they spent away.
While looking at how I could add the Community Time Project Mod to my Sims 2 Essentials Setup tool in the future, I wanted to avoid multiple files if said files were able to be combined.
This file combines Chris Hatch's standalone version of the mod with @blueybre's critical fix, baked into a single package for easier installation.
Every original resource is preserved; the fix's two corrected BHAVs and its global constant are applied on top.
None of this is mine - it's a long-standing, community-maintained mod. All credit goes to the people below.

Credits
crammyboy @ MATY - the original Community Time mod
Chris Hatch - the updated, more stable standalone version
@blueybre - the fix
familyfunds (me!) - for… well… nothing, really. Just combining the fix with the original mod so it installs as one file.
About @blueybre's Fix
You can read about their fix in their own words on their Tumblr post (here!), but their fix targets two things:
If the player ever closes the text box that shows the remaining time until the Sim's return, or if the player closes their game while a Sim is off-world and later reloads the lot, then the mod will throw an "Undefined Transition" error.
CTP also fails to calculate the time correctly if a Sim is away for longer than 72 hours, and instead flows over to zero.
They also solved the conflict between CTP and @lazyduchess' Playable Nannies mod.
Load Order Note (for this combined file)
Because the fix is already baked into this single package, the "load the fix after CJH_CommTime" step is handled automatically. The one thing that still applies: if you use LazyDuchess's Playable Nannies (or otherwise have ld_scheduler_car_semiglobals), make sure this combined file loads AFTER it.
I've tested the combined version of this mod and haven't had any issues with any of the other mods that come with my Sims 2 Essentials Setup Tool, but if you run into any issues, please let me know!
One installer. Every essential fix, mod, and tool for The Sims 2, set up for you in a few clicks.
I got tired of hunting down the same "must-have" fixes every time I reinstalled The Sims 2 (to the point where it has kept me from playing), so I made a tool that does it for you! 🥳 You choose the fixes, mods, and tools you want, click through, and it installs them all — with automatic backups and a built-in undo, so nothing is permanent and nothing gets lost.
It works with both the 2025 Legacy Collection (Steam and EA App) and the older Ultimate Collection.
⚠️ One heads-up: I only own Legacy (on Steam) and the Ultimate Collection, so I haven't been able to test the EA App or Epic versions of the Legacy Collection myself. They should work, but if you run into any issues on those, please let me know and I'll push out a fix!
Most importantly, none of this content is mine. Every fix, mod, and tool belongs to the creators who made them — I only automate installing them. Full credits and links are in the guide that comes with it. Please go support these people 💜

More details under the cut 👇
What is it?
The Sims 2 Essentials Setup Tool is a single Windows installer (.exe file). Instead of downloading, unzipping, and hand-placing dozens of separate fixes, you run one program, choose what you want from a checklist, and it puts everything in the right place for you.
There are three quick presets so you don't have to think too hard:
Recommended — the sensible default set.
Complete — everything.
Custom — start from a blank slate and pick only what you want.
What's included
Everything here is curated to work together and this isn't a random pile of downloads. I checked every package against the others for conflicts (comparing the actual game resources each one touches), dropped or swapped anything that clashed, and set the load order in the few cases where two mods needed to coexist. So you can tick things freely without worrying that two fixes will quietly fight each other.
Over 140 hand-picked fixes and mods, grouped into:
Anti-corruption & core — the safety-critical stuff that keeps your neighborhoods healthy.
Bug fixes — dozens of fixes for Maxis bugs, from memory issues to gameplay glitches.
Helpful gameplay mods — quality-of-life tweaks that just make the game nicer to play.
Essential tools & systems:
CEP (Color Enable Package) — downloaded straight from MTS at install, see the note below
The Scriptorium
Radiance Lighting System 2.5
GunMod's Camera Mod 3.1
Rugs off-grid
TS2 Extender 0.8.1 (fixes only, optional extras off by default)
Objects.package corruption protection
Missing content restore (you supply your own Ultimate Collection or disc files — EA content is NOT bundled):
Restore IKEA Home Stuff (works on both Steam and EA/Epic — it sets up whichever your game needs)
Restore Missing Music
Missing Holiday Items
Neighborhood setup: clean/empty stealth 'hoods, or fully disable them, plus the MATY no-townie-regen mods.
Startup cheats: 45° object rotation and quarter-tile placement.
Third-party tools: SimPE, Mootilda's HoodChecker / LotAdjuster / Sims2Pack Clean Installer, and Body Shop for the Legacy Collection.
Backups & undo
This is the part I care about most: before the tool changes or replaces any file, it backs up your original first (to C:\ProgramData\The Sims 2 Essentials Setup Tool\backups). To undo anything, just run the tool again and choose Undo — you get a checklist and can roll back everything or only certain pieces. It does not add itself to "Add or remove programs"; it stays fully self-contained.
Requirements
Windows (I tested and created this on Windows 11)
The Sims 2 Legacy Collection (2025) or Ultimate Collection
For the "Missing" content (IKEA / Music / Holiday), your own UC or disc files
How to use it
First, a friendly nudge: back up your Sims 2 "Documents" folder. The tool shouldn't touch your saves, neighborhoods, or downloads — and it automatically backs up anything it does change — but it's always better safe than sorry. Just copy your Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2… folder somewhere safe before you start. (Besides… when was the last time you backed up your saves? 😉)
Download the .exe. It's unsigned (normal for community tools), so if Windows SmartScreen pops up, click More info → Run anyway.
Right-click the .exe and choose "Run as administrator" — it needs admin rights because it writes into your game folder.
Pick your edition, confirm your Documents folder, tick what you want, and click through.
That's it. To undo later, run it again and choose Undo.
A note on CEP
CEP isn't bundled in the installer — Numenor asks that it only be hosted on Mod The Sims. So if you tick it, the tool downloads it directly from MTS at install time. None of Numenor's files are redistributed here. That does mean CEP is the one thing you can't install while offline — but everything else in the tool works completely fine with no internet connection.
Credits & terms
Genuinely, all of the credit goes to the creators — Numenor, LazyDuchess, GunMod & the Radiance team, HugeLunatic, Mootilda, cyjon, Pescado & MATY, TwoJeffs, Nopke, simler90, LordDarcy, MidgeTheTree, hiloyt, CroconawSims, and so many more. The full list with links is in the included guide.
While I've reviewed everyone's terms of use in detail to make sure I wasn't breaking any rules, I'm only human and I could have missed (or misinterpreted) something. If one of your mods or tools is included in this installer and you'd like me to remove it, please shoot me a message and I'm happy to do so.
The tool itself is free and open-source — you're more than welcome to review every file and exactly what it does on GitHub. It's not affiliated with EA or with any of the creators above.
Missing something? Suggestions welcome
Think I've left out a crucial bug fix or a genuinely helpful mod? Send it my way. If the creator's terms of use allow it, I'm happy to look into adding it.
A quick heads-up on my philosophy, though: I originally built this for myself, and I like my game as close to vanilla as possible. So mods that change gameplay in a big way, or add features that were never in the base game to begin with, generally aren't ones I'll bundle. This isn't meant to be an "everything" list, but I'm always glad to consider suggestions, so don't be shy about sharing what you'd love to see!

I really like these TS4 pajamas, so I was super excited when they were converted by @lucilla-sims
well, long story short, I lost my mind and there are 52 recolours of these pajamas here.
nobody needs this many recolours of anything but here we are anyway??
patterns? spoonflower
coziness? a billion
sanity? non-existant
Hi everyone, I think everybody knows the Clean UI mod made by greatcheesecakepersona . The mod comes with a colourful hair color category, so I modified this category and added another hair category. With this mod you have 2 new hair colors, Bright Red and Light Brown. It supposed to work with the Clean UI cas by replacing some files of the mod.
Some observations:
it`s not exactly two new colors, but replace the streaked and custom hair bins with bright red and light brown swatches
work for toddlers, kids, teens, ya adults and adults
the colors are Bright Red and Light Brown
it doesn't work in sims bodyshop
to bin any hair use:
00000005-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 for L-Brown
00000021-4000-0000-0000-000000000000 for B-Red
I didn't made any recolours of the default hairs made by maxis, but I will share some recolours of the hairs shared by me in the past
after you make a sim in the cas, it could be necessary to fix their brows in the mirror
like the hair, you could make these recolours for beard and brows, but the bright red button could be complicated to select in the mirror
Download the UI files here
Download the hairs here
Download the actions here
Edit: I made some changes in this post, if you are going to reblog, please, consider these changes or reblog again.
The frame from Cashcraft's 'Little Princess' set (link warning: T$R) edited and repo'd! The original frame is actually two frames stacked on top of each other, but this edit is only one frame (you can place multiple on the wall anyhow). The frame is remapped and repo'd to the BV 'Collectible Travel Poster by Travelkeeper', and the picture is repo'd to BG 'Bella Squared'. I tested it with quite a few recolours of the Travelkeeper frame, and although they weren't all perfect fits, most of them, even the more elaborate ones, seemed to look nice!
I also made Cashcraft's original pictures into recolours for Bella Squared, there's a swatch in the folder and the recolour packages are named according to the hair colour of the girl in the picture (they're all the same picture, just different hair/skin colours).
MogHughson's Watch TV from all chairs is pretty much required by everyone at this point, but I always disliked how, if there's no seating available, my sims seemed to always route to stand in front of the tv and block people. There's also Squinge's Sit on floor to watch TV, but it conflicted with MogHughson's mod, and it also makes people sit on the floor on community lots, which didn't make much sense to me.
This edit fixes all of that.
With this mod, sims will enjoy the increased viewing angles of Mog's mod, but if there are no more chairs available, they will instead sit on the floor. Only if they somehow can't sit down at all, will they stand. This portion of the mod is the result of me basically combining Mog's and Squinge's mods together.
I have added a check that tells the game that if the current lot is a community lot, they shouldn't sit on the floor. No more sitting on the dirty, sticky floor of sports bars 🤢
Note: During testing, a grand total of 1 time, 1 sim sat on the floor of a community lot. I was not able to reproduce it and have no idea why they did it. If this happens to you, please let me know!
Thank you very much to MogHughson and Squinge, whose work this mod is based on.

The Sims 2 Career Numbered Levels & More Consistent Titles
Know this mod by Phaenoh? So I remade it from scratch. The original one had issues; some careers didn't have numbers, and some levels were swapped (according to people). Now instead of "Lvl X" numbers are in brackets, which is more aesthetically pleasing to me. English only, incorporates this.
While I was at it, I renamed some of the careers to make things more consistent. This is a separate mod with its own package file of course. So now sims don't work in Journalism and "Gamer".

TS2 Basic Career Editing For Unexperienced
A simple tutorial for those who want to edit custom careers to match.
I love @alienpod's 4t2 Mailbox Default, and I wanted to give it a makeover in my color palettes (Lunamoth metals for the box, @morepopcorn's woods for the post, and Sugar Rush colors for both). As usual you can get just the recolors if you use another version of this mailbox...
Download Recolors
- OR -
... you can get an edit of with the textures swapped out for a mix of options (see first screenshot) with the rest included as recolors. Also I think I got the hood view and lot imposters working? Let me know if you run into issues!
Download Default + Recolors
NOTE: To update the hood view for existing lots, you need to go into the lot, make an edit, save it, and return to hood view.

After much hair-pulling, I finally feel satisfied enough to release my mod to restore those glorious shiny floors from The Sims 2 beta! (Forever in our hearts...)
You can download it here :)
Prerelease (2003):
Doesn't the beta lighting look so nice? :(
Mod (not 2003):
Why yes, I did painstakingly try to recreate the room from the prerelease image and make elder versions of the Sims - it was absolutely a productive use of my time.
I've made sure to make a number of vanilla TS2 floors reflective out of the box. These are mostly marble floors, but there's a few stone/tile/wood floors in there too. If you want to add reflections to custom floors (or other vanilla floors not included by default), I've left some basic instructions on the GitHub page on how to do this :)
Because this is a cut beta feature, there are a few minor issues with it - I have detailed these in the README. Please take the time to read through them!
I also had to include an edit to the mirror reflection shader to fix a bug where mirrors visible in the floor reflections would be flashing red (Castaway Stories has the same issue with mirrors reflected in the ocean, funnily enough). I'm not aware of any other mods that touch the mirror shaders, but if there are, let me know and I'll whip up a compatibility patch.
Oh, and in case you missed it, I released a small update to the reflective water mod, as per the request of @lordcrumps. I didn't realise houses didn't reflect in the hood water, but now they do!
Hey Lamare! Just wondering if there's any update made on this: https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=661278
Not to be a bother, I just think this is interesting!
Hey! Actually, there has been an update, and it's time for it to not be sitting on my computer only :)
⚡ Music Preferences Update and How To Update CC Stereos
I’ve expanded it a little bit since then. Along with ownership that restricts who can turn on a stereo, there’s now an option that says no one can turn it on unless there’s a party or date.
Also allowed custom stereos to break and be tinkered with (by default, only a couple of Maxis GUIDs are allowed), though it requires updating their packages. Basically, my mod looks for a BHAV named "CT - Is Done?" in custom stereo's local resources, so if you wanted to make your CC stereo breakable and repairable, you'd create/import such a BHAV into its package. It has to be a dummy that returns true, has unique instance ID and the same group ID as other BHAVs in its package. I'll upload my store/preorder stereo edits as examples. Don't recommend doing it for smaller objects that go on shelves, as animations are meant for floor ones.
On that note, there may be some CC stereos that don't have music preferences' interactions in their menus at all, that's because they don't use semi-global resources that my mod modifies, but use custom local resources instead. (I thought I wrote a tut on how to "semiglobalize" a stereo, but I can't find it!) In short, you edit it's OBJD field "Interaction Table ID" to be 132 (in decimal), then delete local Pie Menu Functions and Pie Menu Strings from the package. But first, you make a backup and ask yourself: is this particular stereo special? does it have unique custom interactions that you don't want to lose? If yes, you may not want to go through with it.
I was thinking of rewriting the mod to have separate trait objects like color traits, but now that the object limit is very real, it might be best to not make about 20 new objects for each music station :) And I also vaguely remember someone else wanting to do it, so it may be already available anyway.
Files: music folder
(Still sort of "in testing", but you know me, some of my mods are eternal WIPs)
If any mod conflicts with the Main file, it's either him or me. For conflicts with addons, I just let other mods load after my files, because other reasons to restrict autonomy usually make more sense than favorite music station, and I haven't gotten around to merging any of those with my tweaks.
