Marriage is not another chapter in your life where you step in and step out of.

People who are judgmental, impatient, or intolerant of others' weaknesses are almost always equally harsh on themselves; conversely, those who are hard on themselves are almost always equally harsh on others, realistic and tolerant of their own and others' weaknesses while realistically assigning and assuming responsibility for their actions.

People who overestimate their abilities and worth often have high self-esteem but significant problems in the interpersonal and work or school relationships because they have unrealistic expectations of what is due them. The best indicator of health, self-compassion is one's ability to accept strengths and weaknesses in oneself and others.

Love wouldn't be love if it didn't hurt from time to time.

Just when you think life was going to get easier, it gets harder. Just when you're about to give up, life lets up. Welcome to life.

A "hang out" or a date shouldn't have to lead to sex, know that. A no should mean a no and if the other person goes, then let them go, they weren't worth it. We are more than a body because we embody God's beautiful creation. Own it. We should never feel that we are forced in something our heart isn't ready for. Carefully listen to it. We each have a voice. Use it. We deserve and desire respect, gain it...

I'm hopeful for the day that by best friends are still my best friends and their kids with kick it with my kids. We'll be able to go the parks together, fill up water balloons one by one and have a blast under the sun. We'll be able to laugh about old times and new times. We'll have piggy back races and teach them life lessons like don't judge a person by the color of their faces. We'll celebrate the little things like figuring out how to tie shoe laces with a pizza party or something...

You never deserved to be raped. No one deserves to be raped. It doesn't matter what you were wearing or what situation you were in. What happened shouldn't have ever happened. What you felt, shouldn't have ever been felt. There's no redo's in life and feelings are hard to dismiss most times, but know that there's a God that loves you, people out there that care about you and I hope that brings some comfort to your heart.

Something I"m learning is that I'm only human and I can't be too hard on myself for it. There's going to be times where I'm going to have selfish thoughts, make wrong choices and think wrong things. This does not make me a horrible person, but it only makes me more human.

Family's on my mind and only time will tell. I'd be a fool to think that life is like a wishing well. All the pennies in my pocket only add up to cents, they're never going to get me to celebrate those life events. Such as holding my wife's hand for the first time as we're finally married, watching our first kid walk or talk or having our first family photo that's not photoshopped. It's not countless wishes that's going to make it all happen, it's going to come from good work ethics and a heart filled passion. A fling of a coin isn't going to do it. Step into reality...
