You miss them – you miss them until your head aches and you fear your bones will break under the weight of all the emptiness there is in their place. You cry in grocery stores when you see their favorite brand of chips missing from the shelf and you eat three tubs of that ice cream they liked and you watch all the movies they talked about. You get an ad on the back of a milk carton saying MISSING, with their face soft and smiling underneath. You get all that missing out of your system, and one day you will wake up tired of feeling empty and you will tell happiness “I miss you” and that is the day you will try to move on. Wash your slate clean and throw out all their movies and their old t-shirts. Don’t walk down the aisle with their favorite chips anymore. Remember that you have been missing for far too long and it’s time to get your heart back. Only then will the missing will go missing.
