Kindness

I’m not into convincing people I’m worthy. I’m into people who’ll convince me on my worst days that I’m still worth the world.

Loving someone means taking the risk that they might f*ck up your nicely ordered little life.

I’d drive 25 minutes to kiss you for 30 seconds any time any day

When they ask me about my future wife, I always tell them that her eyes are the only Christmas lights that deserve to be seen all year long. I tell them that she has a walk that can make an atheist believe in God just long enough to say, ‘God damn’. I tell them that if my alarm clock sounded like her voice, my snooze button would collect dust. I tell them that if she came in a bottle, I would drink her until my vision is blurry and my friends take away my keys. I tell them that if she was a book, I would memorize her table of contents. I would read her, cover to cover, hoping to find typos, just so we could both have something to work on, because aren’t we all unfinished?

A secret to happiness is letting every situation be what it is instead of what you think it should be, and then making the best of it.

I’m slowly but surely starting to accept the fact that not everyone has the same heart as I do.

“Date someone who sleeps on your chest and snores in your ear. Date someone who’ll be your Friday night and your entire Saturday. Date someone who is proud of you. Date someone who only makes you cry of laughter. Date someone who isn’t afraid to love everything about you. Find someone who believes love is black and white; you either love someone or you don’t. There are so many mediocre things in life, love shouldn’t be one of them.”

I have the deepest affection for intellectual conversations. The ability to just sit and talk. About love, about life, about anything, about everything. To sit under the moon with all the time in the world, the full-speed train that is our lives slowing to a crawl. Bound by no obligations, barred by no human limitations. To speak without regret or fear of consequence. To talk for hours and about what’s really important in life.

You said your life was a mess but I disagree. You’re a walking piece of art.

If nothing else, be kind. Radiate positivity; this world could use it.
