In such places you will find dozens of posts, each spaced weeks or months apart from each other, all expressing more or less the same thing: I just wondered about this weird thing, so I googled it. Apparently I’m not the only one that wonders about this. Apparently this janky old geocities comment section is the foremost place for the sharing of knowledge about this thing, of the entire internet.

Two prominent examples of this for me: the forum that you find if you search for “cyst balls in earlobes”, and the comment section you find if you search for “squirrel carrying another squirrel”. Both are vague, old landscapes of speculation and wonder, where people mutually share an odd discovery, but never reach a conclusion.
