this is probably the funniest and stupidest post i will ever make but... in the old movie lover community... there seems to be this unspoken rule that you have to pick between charlie chaplin, buster keaton, and harold lloyd. you can only have one favourite. half the time when i see someone review one of their films... the review is like 'oh chaplin WISHED he could be as funny as keaton is in this' or 'lloyd lacks the sentimentality and pathos that chaplin brings to his movies'. like please these people are dead. these movies are A HUNDRED YEARS OLD. are we really pitting silent vaudeville performers against each other omg. it's insane. the VENOM in these reviews. you can just talk about the silly guy you're watching! no need to compare him with the other silly guys!

i'm going to be so real w/ u... going on holiday last week genuinely made me appreciate how important it is to take breaks. don't get me wrong, i have been doing okay these past couple of months....but last year was not good for my mental health and i'm still recovering from it. i took 0 breaks. i went nowhere. all my days off were spent packing, planning, or doing stuff to the house.

i needed rest. more than that, i needed to be somewhere new.

i spent the whole week having a good time & eating tons of food & exploring new places. not once did i worry about work or ai or the world. i just lived!!

i'm already thinking about where i might go on holiday next.

#i am struggling to adjust to life outside of an all inclusive resort #i drank so many cocktails and ate dessert after every meal #like so many desserts #our mini bar was replenished every day #i would love to go to italy but there are lots of places i'd like to see so idk whether to interrail or what #i am kinda wanting an all inclusive style holiday again tho. it was so white lotus and very indulgent but it was worth it
