Birthday Boys - Kaisoo
Kyungsoo sat at the airport bar feeling sorry for himself. He twirled the thin, red straw bobbing out of his overpriced cocktail before taking it in his mouth to suck the last of his third…fourth? celebratory drink. His phone had quieted down hours ago, the birthday messages having come in a massive wave that trickled out into spar well wishes and tweets from friends proclaiming, “they’ll just have to party harder next time.”
The TV behind the bar showed sports highlights and he was miserable. He was fucking goddamn miserable. He was stuck at an airport half a world away from everyone he knew and it was a fucking blizzard out there.
He’d turn 23 local time, but back home, in Korea, he’d been 23 for what felt like ages.
