Cid was always in the middle of something when someone came by. Drafting, smoking (yes, it counted), sleeping (that also counted, considering he practically lived in his office), or discussing one thing or another about the project. Today’s visitor happened to walk in when he was dozing off at the drafting table, lit cigarette limp between his lips.
The knock jolted him awake and he swiveled in his chair towards his visitor.
“Eh? What? That’s me. What’cha need?” He sniffed and shook his head, brain slowly re-booting. He removed his cigarette and ran his hand through his hair before trailing it down his face. When was the last time he had slept? Who the fuck knew at this point. His blue eyes settled on his visitor. Shit. He looked relatively important too.
“Sorry I woke you up; just wanted to talk to you.” In most cases, Angeal would’ve offered to come back at a better time, but well. He’d already woken the man up, and there wasn’t much more annoying to be woken up, only to have the offender try and leave.
Doubting that Cid would mind, Angeal strode into the room and pulled up a nearby chair. “I’m given to understand Sephiroth’s taken a shine to you lately. I doubt you’re a psychopath, but mind you, I’m a good friend of hers, and she... Well, I just want to make sure she doesn’t get hurt. I’m sure you understand.”
