Who am I suppose to thank for this?
Being around in Queenstown for a while now, I actually had the chance to get some work. I wasn't too smart when I tucked my wallet into a plastic bag with a hole in it and took it with me on the first job. When I came back that night after 6 hours of work, I lost it. I wasn't too freaked out about the fact itself, because stuff like that happens. I started asking around, if somebody had found it near the hostel or in the van we took to the job. No accomplishment there kept me a bit hanging and hungry. Someone said it would be my best bet to just go to the police station and ask for a found wallet. I did. And I had success. Not only that my wallet was found the night I lost it, that someone was so incredibly honest to leave everything in – from a 10$ bill to every single bank card, my driver's license, a USB Stick, my German SIM-card and my ID. It would be interesting to meet him/her and to actually buy a drink for being so awesome. I just figured that I wouldn't be able to reach that person...so I took the remaining money and bought myself dinner at Fergburger. Obviously that was a bit selfish; and yes it felt a tiny bit strange celebrating that way. But if I meet that person somewhere in the future, whatever the reason, I will thank him/her personally (the internet is my witness). Until then: farewell and thank you for what you did.
