Hollywood, Los Angeles: Feeling like a Failure
Gabriel laughed lightly, “It threw me off, honestly. I rather you not be naked at all.” He’s fine with just the bottoms. Then again, he’s done it to Ophelia a few times. He glanced at Leo once more with a smile. “Soon enough, you’ll be able to have them out in a brilliant display for your guests to see.” Sure, it seemed strange, but that is Leo’s hobby. Why not show it off? He leaned back with a light breath, “She doesn’t see the beauty in it like you do. Not everyone sees the same beautiful thing. No one has the exact same likes and dislikes. And not all Toreador have the same definition of what they find is beautiful or what is hip. That’s why many of us are not friends with each other, let alone get along with. We have too strong of an opinion.” He smiled big. Leaning over, he looked at his phone to see that everything appeared… pixelated and blocky, “Oh. That looks very pixel-ish. Is it really that fun?” He asked out of wonder. "…Is that all?" He snickered lightly, "It’s nothing to think bad about. It’s a personal preference- oh. Excuse me." He pulled his phone out to see what it is, "It’s Mockingbird." He opened it up and saw what was inside. The picture of the huge black feather. His smile faded almost immediately when seeing it. “… Leo, I need to go. Like RIGHT NOW.” He had sent the text message to Novel to have her and Cammy come over to Ophelia’s place immediately.
Then, he sent a message to Ophelia next: 'Ophelia, have your weapon armed and ready. Lock the door and don't answer unless you hear the words “panicked peacock”. Otherwise, don't answer the door, stay away from the windows and stay put.'
He turned on the car and looked over to Leo. “Is there a place that I could drop you off? I’m really sorry about this, it’s an emergency.” He was starting to panic, causing his accent to come out once more. He is NOT going to lose the love of his unlife because of Korbin’s sick and twisted ways to get back at Novel or at him. No chance in HELL.
Leo nodded as he was chopping away at the blocks in the game. He glanced up finally and smiled. Chuckling he put away the phone again. "Sorry...almost got sucked into it...it's great when I'm just waiting around..."
The toreador smiled a little. Despite having a different view from Gabriel (certainly in fashion) he was okay with the other man. He wasn't bad company. He wondered a little what Gabriel thought of him.
Then all of the sudden. "Huh? He blinked staring over at Gabriel with a concerned expression. "What's wrong...? Oh..." He thought quickly. Though he didn't want to cut their conversation short (there was so much more to ask and be asked after all!) he nodded. "Uh...dropped me when we get closer to people...it's deserted out here...I'll just jump out and then you can speed off to...wherever..."
He smiled despite feeling a little disappointed, but it seemed important. He did notice the accent and looked at the other strangely for a moment. He wouldn't complain or argue. "Maybe I'll go shopping on the way back!~ We'll just have to meet another day...If you're okay with that...?" Maybe he was too annoying?
-
Over at the malkavians shop Novel was shooing away people as quickly as possible. If anyone complained she stared at them so fiercely and threatened them with a ban and they fled. So with in just a few minutes she was ready to go. "Cammy. Go get your hammer."
Finally with Cammy on back of her bike, she would speed off towards downtown where Ophelia lived.
Ophelia in the meantime stared hard at the message. Get her weapon...? She glanced around. She locked the door. Got out her pistol, a lighter, some flammable liquids and crouched down next to the futon near to the wall in the corner. She held the gun firmly, ready to aim and shoot if anything or anyone popped out without saying the words Gabriel told her. The feather remained untouched, just where it was when she found it.
She'd wait until someone got to her to find out what was going on.
Hollywood, Los Angeles: Feeling like a Failure
Gabriel turned his head at Leo with a nod, “Something like that, only more intricate. She makes larger-scaled art. Remember that paper dragon in front of one of my display windows?” When Leo would nod, he smiled, “She made that for me. She’s a miraculous young lady.” He looked ahead once more. His eyes turned off a bit and narrowed slightly. Of course, it had to be pink. It explains why he would wear it in general. At least the bright pink. “After seeing you half-naked and in that coat, it’s hard to guess it wrong.” He chuckled faintly. Turning around the corner, he drove on into the parking lot more carefully. From there, he went on to find a solitary place to talk. “Collecting butterflies?” He didn’t expect that. “That’s an interesting hobby to have. I can’t say I have met someone who collects butterflies or moths. You’re the first.” He smiled softly. Though, he laughed lightly, “Minecraft? I’ve never heard of such. Though, I’ve seen these weird little trinkets at the bookstore I would get my tea at. And this foam weapon that looks like a pickaxe or something.” He parked the car and turned it off. Pulling Puck over to pet him on the head slowly. “Right. What things do you dislike?”
"I...can't say I looked at it much I'm afraid...I wish I had now..." He frowned slightly and looked off. He'd have to stop by to take a peek at it one of these nights.
"I'm sorry!" Leo squeaked and smiled a little. "I had to answer the door in something! Would you have rathered I came out to great you half-naked in just by bottoms!?" He crossed his arms and stared at the other toreador. His head dropped a little and he looked out the window. "Yeah...I suppose so. It's mostly kept hidden away...I'm sure you can imagine how Jenevieve takes to me collecting 'Insects' and 'Bugs'..." He sighed softly.
"Oh yes!" He pulled out his phone and quickly got the game up. "It's a block building game sorta. You can make a house and mine and fight monsters try to survive! It's really strangely addicting..." Even now he was tapping away at his phone getting distracted.
"I don't like...don't laugh...non-organic cleaning products..." He glanced off with a small frown. "The chemicals bother my eyes and nose..."
After a while of talking, and of questions and answers Gabriel's phone would vibrate again. A message was there.
"Chickadee...there's something weird left right inside my apartment." Attached to it was a picture she'd taken. There on the ground was a huge black feather clearly seen. "Do you think a bird got in?"
Hollywood, Los Angeles: Feeling like a Failure
Gabriel smiled softly, still idly petting the puppy on his lap. He enjoys spending time at her place with her. Away from his home. He’s been getting out more and more often. Which is always a good sign to him. Things are back to normal in his world and that’s all he could ask for.
He did chuckle at the end of her text, pulling up Novel’s number to send her a text that he has some info to tell her. Will call later on. Since he sees Leo coming out. Once inside the car, he picked Puck up and placed him in the back. “We’ll go to a random parking lot, sit in the car and just talk away.” Since there’s not really many people that mingle about there. Perhaps to the top floor at least. He drove onward to the one place he knows is absolutely empty. “Alright alright, slow down.” He laughed a little, “Sadly, I don’t know her favorite color. And her favorite things? Hnn… She loves to read. A lot. Her bedroom looks almost like a library. And it’s almost as big as my brother’s.” He laughed softly. “Big time reader. And she loves to play games. Especially with Cammers. Her top favorite game to play is chess. And she’s damn good at it. Oh. And she absolutely loves flowers. She gets excited whenever I bring a bouquet for her to have around her have.” He leaned back a bit, “Her hobbies? She…” He smiled big, “She makes wonderful art with origami.” He leaned back a bit. “What are your likes and dislikes? What is your favorite color?”
'Okay! I hope he isn't too much trouble...I'm sorry if he is...'
Leo paused and leaned back in his seat when he was told to slow down. "Sorry!~" The male chuckled and listened to Gabriel's responses. He doesn't know her favorite color. Awww. Well, he'd just have to ask her sometime...right?
In his head he took in as much as he could. He wanted to know everything a father should about his own daughter!!! Books. Flowers. Chess. He made a list to remember in his head. Wait, her bedroom looked like a library. That was strange. He smiled almost proudly when Gabriel said she was damn good at chess. That means she was pretty smart! How could he not be proud at that!?
"Origami? That little paper art where you fold? Like cranes and stuff?" His mind turned to the small things he'd see at some chinatowns and such. Of course Novel's sculptures were bigger, more complex and impressive than anything he might be thinking of.
Leo smiled wide. "Pink of course!~ Couldn't you guess that?" That should have been an easy thing to guess about Leo. "They had that coat of mine in black...but I liked the pink far better!"
"Lets see...I like..." He paused what did he like? Normal things...? Somehow all the things he felt like saying didn't seem really all that important...still. "Shopping, hanging around clubs, dancing, singing..." The guy paused then added. "...Collecting butterflies...some moths...I can't catch most of them of course...except luna moths..."
"Oh! And I love this terribly addicting game I can play on my phone! Minecraft!"
Hollywood, Los Angeles: Feeling like a Failure
Gabriel nodded, “I wasn’t. I left around 1963 and moved into the studio that you’ve came to since. I bought it so there was no means of paying rent. No landlord to worry about how I’m not aging and whatnot.” He waved his hand. “Hm? Oh, I do. I enjoy it. If I didn’t, wouldn’t I be back in England or France?” He smiled over to Leo. Sadly, Gabriel can’t say that things turned out right for them. Novel had a hard life. And she still had a hard life “Right.” He smiles just a little. For now, he’ll let Novel tell him things. Since he knows nothing about what happened. Though, he hoped that Novel and Leo will get along. She’s lucky that she has some sort of family in the community blood-related. Gabriel, deep down, felt a little lonely. But then he remembered that Novel and Cammy are like little sisters. So that made the feeling to go away. Gabriel waved a bit, “Take your time.” He glanced down to see those eyes, laughing a little, “Alright, alright…” He reached over to pet Puck while the other hand sent out a text to see how Ophelia is going. He smiled, sending out a reply. 'You're always welcome to lounge or sleep at my studio without my permission, Mockingbird. And I have a few board games there at the studio. But, if you want to be at home more than my studio, I'm all for going there. I should be done here roughly around the time you get off. If I'm not, just stay at my place until I arrive.'
Leo would be gone for a while. During which time Gabriel would get a message back from Ophelia.
'Whichever is okay? Then...come to my place tonight after you're done! Okay!? Gotta get back to work and stop texting before I get my butt kicked. (Jk) XD Ttyl.'
From then it was silent on her end and she went back to work. Finally Leo reemerged with a woman looking almost drunk clinging to his arm. He was smiling, laughing and managed to kinda scrap her off. He blew a kiss and walked away with a smile on his face leaving her behind to smile after him...
He hopped back into the car and smiled. "Okay! Much better!~ Still wish I had my coat..." Leo pouted a little before smiling again. "I guess I'm still in an 'interview' and you have things to tell me. Pick a place to talk, or we can talk here! In your car!"
The man relaxed back looking at least a little happier after getting something to drink. "Can you tell me her favorite color? What are some of her favorite things? Does she have any hobbies?" Leo seemed to understand that Gabriel wouldn't be telling him anything to personal about her. Anything that he though Novel should tell him herself...

Hollywood, Los Angeles: Feeling like a Failure
He smiled softly, “I’m glad it was worth it, then.” He hoped that Leo didn’t regret any of it. Regretting only brings doubt in the heart and mind. It just breeds all sorts of things. Like with Gabriel and his previous failed love attempt. But he never regretted it. Just felt terrible that nothing good came of it. "…" He turned his eyes over to the neonate toreador with an expression on his face. Did… did he sounded bitter? He looked a little confused, but almost surprised. He looked away with a light breath. "It’s fine, Leo. Sometimes, you just need to ask someone for some help." And he knew how that was. Driving on anyways to head towards Confession. "Hm? Oh, no I won’t. I honestly don’t like her. She’s the literally textbook toreador I tend to avoid." and forget if that’s possible. "Oh? Smaller nightclubs and bars?" He smiled softly. "That’s good. And you’ve been to France? I used to live there. Before the 1960s, I mean." He exhaled faintly, "I lived in Paris for I think… a hundred? Maybe two hundred years. I know quite a few people there. One of them being a close ‘childhood’ friend. she runs a perfume business there for over three hundred years. She’s an expert when it comes to scents." He smiled out to Leo. "Ah, so you don’t get to stick in one place for too long. Shame." His head shook softly. Though when hearing that he was there for Novel for the first six months, that is something to tell her. He was there for a good while before forced to leave them behind. It was a shame she doesn’t remember him at that age. She was only a baby. And even having that fatherly expression on his face. “If you were able to, perhaps things would have been much more different for her.” He parked the car near the club. "Alright, I’ll stay in here and make sure Ophelia is doing okay." He pulled out his phone to do such. "Hm? Well…" He leaned back some when seeing such pleading eyes. He exhaled, letting out a nod. "Alright. I’ll tell you some things about Novel. Now, go." He waved him off, reaching over to pull Puck onto his lap and just relax there for the time being.
Leo smiled a little. "Then I suppose you weren't there when I visited then. Do you like it over here...? In America?" He paused and shifted to get out of the car.
He leaned down to look into the car for a moment. "Even if I wasn't there...she turned out alright...despite everything. Right?" The man was smiling gently. "That's all the matters now...I can't change what happened...I don't even know what I might do if I had the chance..." He'd said it before. Back then he was already old enough that he would have aged significantly without the blood. Today he'd be dead or at least an old man. Now that he didn't need his sires blood to live he was trying to pull away some...and trying to be part of his daughters life.
"Be right back then!" He grinned and went off towards the bar where he disappeared in the front doors. Puck was happy to be pulled into his 'second masters' lap for the time being. He curled there and his tail wiggled just a little as he looked up with his eyes at the toreador. Wanting pet of course!
When Ophelia got his message she'd message back quickly.
'At work still! Everything's fine! : ) How's it going? If you're not home do you mind if I lounge around your studio? Or you can come over to my place after. Watch a movie or play a board game? ;)'
Hollywood, Los Angeles: Feeling like a Failure
Gabriel shook his head softly, “You don’t want to damn someone to that sort of life, would you?” He wouldn’t. Hell, he wouldn’t be siring! He had to get over the whole ordeal of ghouling someone. But so far, Ophelia has been taking it very well and that’s one hell of a weight off his chest.
"Ah. Yes. She has to understand that she’ll need another ghoul since most things can only be done in the daytime. Sure, I had my secretary to do it for me, but I could ask Ophelia. But, she’s my friend. I don’t want her to feel that she is obligated to do things for me." Far from it, "So I have Kelly, my secretary, to do my things." He smiled away, looking onward when hearing that elevator chime. He stepped out with Puck walking along his side. Not behind or ahead, but next to him. "I know Confession. Sure, I’ll take you there." He smiled out before heading on out and over to his car. He unlocked it and stepped inside, placing Puck in the back seat to curl up there while Leo took the passenger seat "What else… Hmmm… Well, your relationship with your sire hit what I was planning to ask next. How about…"He turned the car on and drove after buckling up, "What are your hobbies? What things do you like? And what do you dislike? Have you traveled to any other country before?"
Leo looked off for a moment. "I'm not sure...Maybe if they volunteered..." He didn't want to do this anymore, and who could blame him. If someone stepped up and wanted their chance to work at that 'beautiful' creatures side and a change a immortality. Fine. He'd probably hand it off and cut his losses. He'd lost enough hadn't he?
Though he also gained in a way. He wouldn't have ever met Nya whom he still loved in his heart. Novel who wouldn't have existed had he not been a ghoul... "...still...I guess it was worth it..." He mumbled softly looking out the car window.
The young toreador chuckled. "You wanna help find a replacement doormat for her?" Okay. That might have come out more bitter than he meant it to. "Sorry...it's my problem...I shouldn't be bothering you with it..." He hardly knew him really, but maybe because Gabriel seemed like a good sort of person or because his daughter trusted this man and thought of him as a brother, Leo decided he was trustable. He glanced to Gabriel with just a look worry. "Y-you won't tell her...?"
"Hobbies...taking care of my lady...singing is really more of a hobby than career...it's her career...I like to sing for people, dance...I like these clubs..." He glanced out the window as they pasted a few smaller nightclubs and bars. "I don't get much time away. She keeps me busy." The man smiled. "As for out of country! Yes! I have. In 19...er...19...67? 1967? I think...I went to France with her and I was allowed a few nights when she was busy with the local Camarilla. It was one of her shorter business 'trips' She moves from city to city a lot...Like in New York..."
He tilted his head a little. "I was there for over a year...met Nya a month after we got there. Fell in love...Then months later Novel was born..." He smile off with a happy look on his face. Sorta a fatherly look like when they are just handed their child for the first time."
"All I know about Novel is that the first 6 months of her life were happy and normal..." He'd been around for months after her birth, but then was forced away. The man hadn't ran away and abandoned them as soon as he knew the woman was pregnant!!! "I fought with my sire then...I wish I could have stayed longer..."
When they got to the club he glanced up and smiled. "Thanks...I'll just be a minute okay?"
"...I know you came to ask me things but...can you tell me about Novel a little...? When I get back...?" His eyes just pleaded with Gabriel. He just wanted to know more about his daughter.
Hollywood, Los Angeles: Feeling like a Failure
Gabriel smiled faintly. Good, he left his coat. At least there won’t be turning heads, “You look fine without it for now.” And that was surely a compliment. He pocketed his hands, looking at Puck who was panting while staring up at his second owner. His furry butt parked on the ground.
"You’re never free after the embrace. You’re always under someone’s thumb until you’re out on your own and being independent. Sadly, our clan is not very independent. We congregate in quite a large group. Big time gossipers." He was glad he did NOT like being part such groups. Oh well, at least Gabe has some more things to tell Novel. Like her dad still being a servant to his sire after the embrace. "The only way you escape this is if she…" He took in a slow breath, "If she abandons you. Most toreador, when they embrace, leave their childe behind. Sort of like… a fad. In one minute, then it’s out the next." He could not sugarcoat it. "It’s amazing that she allowed you to stay with her that long and then be embraced." He leaned back against the wall. He listened for the time being. “Oh? Well, there are no rules about not allowed to see family that is part of the kindred community. You’re allowed to. At least to me. I mean if I had family that are also kindred, I would meet them, too.” He shrugged a bit. He looked up to see what floor they are so far. "Oh. Well, we could talk in my car. Drive to another place that’s secluded." He smiled a bit. A bite- oh. He has yet to eat. He laughed lightly, "Of course. Is there any specific place you would like to eat?"
"Hummm....thank you I suppose...I'm just more comfortable in it..." But he'd live. He wouldn't meet his final death if he didn't have his coat.
Leo grimaced a little. "Probably the only way is to get some poor unfortunate soul to take my place..." But that would be damning someone else to the life he had now. He'd thought about it before. He'd thought very seriously about it. "She grew up expecting that type of treatment...high family or something..."
"She and I are about the same age...soon after she was embraced she wanted someone to take care of her I suppose..." It was probably the reason she clung to him so long. For the last 51 years she hasn't had to lift a finger to do much of anything thanks to Leo and she was unlikely to stop wanting that attention...
The elevator went 'Ding' and opened for them.
"Just a local club...maybe "Confession" that's nearby isn't it...the old church turned nightclub." There were bound to be blood dolls around there.
From the elevator the young kindred would simply follow along with Gabriel to his car. He took the passenger side and sat down, closed the door and relaxed back. "So...next question?" He tried to smile a little despite his apparently ruined mood. "What else does Novel or you want to know?"
Hollywood, Los Angeles: Feeling like a Failure
Gabriel smiled, knowing it worked well to keep her flattered and not on his dog. His head turned to Leo, shaking his head. “No, but thank you for asking Leo.” He smiled on. When the woman frowned and dismissed Leo, he lived his hand and waved to Jenivieve, “I hope you have a good evening, Madam.” He bowed to her softly before turning around and walking out of the building. Puck followed after him quickly. Once outside in the hallway, the puppy shook all over and sniffed the ground a little. The toreador took notice of Leo slumping in his spot and sighing out in relief. Is… is he relieved to be out of her presence? He doesn’t like the situation that goes on then. He exhaled silently as well, following into the elevator. “No need to be apologetic, Leo.” In all honesty… Leo’s better. Yup, definitely better. He did chuckle softly when hearing that she’s worse. Probably a lot worse. “I don’t think I’ve met many toreador childe that say their sire is the best.” He shrugged a little with a smile, turning his head to glance down at Puck, who was staring up at him. “But, at least I was able to save you from being stuck around her and being a stiff. No offense. Acting like a servant to your sire? It’s just plain strange, Leo.”
Jenivieve lifted her hand to wave at the two toreador's as they left the apartment then went on doing whatever it was that she did. She smiled at being called Madam. "Goodnight!~"
Leo chuckled half heartedly. "Yeah. I suppose not..." While other clans might think the toreador spoil their childer the exact opposite was true in most cases. "Oh shoot!" He pouted unhappily like a child who didn't get his toy. "I forgot my coat..." Oh well. He wasn't going back for it now. He'd rather stay away then go and get his favorite apparel.
The man leaned against the wall of the elevator watching the numbers go down. "...I know...I have no choice anymore though...Trust me...I thought that I'd be free after..." After the embrace anyway. A ghoul having lived with a kindred for as long as he had wouldn't need to spend nearly as much time by their sires side. He thought he'd be an equal then, not simply a servant. However it simply served as a noose to string tighter around his neck that she could drag him along by.
"...she didn't want me to contact Novel..." And he disobeyed obviously. The fledgling glanced away. "She was very angry when she found out I had..."
"...anyway...Do you know of a place to talk...? I didn't really have anywhere in mind when I said we should leave..." He just wanted to get away.
"Though... If you don't mind a stop then I'd like to stop somewhere to grab a bite." He glanced to the other kindred quickly. "I have'nt had the chance to eat yet..."
Hollywood, Los Angeles: Feeling like a Failure
"We’re close to one, yes, but not close enough to be in any serious danger." Since they live more inland than most near the beach. He smiled anyways, "So don’t worry, she’ll come to you one day and spend time. You just need to give her time to adjust." She’ll come around. And he’ll help out just a little.
He listened for the time being, taking in what was being told about him. So he’s seventy-five. Born in 1938. New Orleans. And his profession is a musician and singer. “Jenivieve?” He looked a little confused, turning his head immediately to the door when hearing it being unlocked. He sat upright, watching as the woman stepped inside. Dark hair and appearing from the 40s in hairstyle. She’s not as old as he is, but she is old in her aspect. But then, he would notice how Leo reacted. Taking off her coat, then her shoes like a servant would. Wait, she’s treating him like he’s a servant. Not as a lover. Not as a friend. His brows slowly lifted at the woman, smiling a little in return. “Pleasure meeting you, Madam.” He would reach out, but he was putting the puppy that is trying to curl up against his stomach more and more to keep away. He then noticed the expression on her face. Oh, oh he gets it. She’s the definition of TOREADOR. Snobby, rich, feels like she’s a celebrity. “You most certainly look lovely.” He kept his smile up, showing he’s very friendly and honest. “Hm? Oh, I have much more.” He placed Puck down on the ground and stood up, holding onto the leash. Though he didn’t have to since Puck stuck nearby his feet. “And we should find someplace else to talk. I don’t want to be too much of your beautiful woman’s way.”
The charcoal woman gave what looked to be a genuine smile when he called her lovely. She was a toreador after all, anyone who stroked their ego was looked upon kindly. "You're going to make me blush..." She glanced over to Leo and sighed out softly. Taking the drink she took a sip. "Leo...Did you offer our guest something to drink yet?"
Instead of arguing with the woman or telling her that indeed he had he turned to Gabriel. "I'm sorry, would you like something to drink?" It was easier to ask him again than to make a fuss with his sire.
The woman frowned a bit when Leo suggested they move away from her but waved at him like she was waving him away. "Fine...Go on Leonardo...don't stay out to late..." Her fledging servant gave a short bow and walked over to the door. Opening it and holding it open for Gabriel.
Once outside the apartment and down the hall the toreador's back slumped and let out a breath. He looked tired just from that short encounter. And certainly not happy. Yes he'd been rewarded with an embrace after years of servanthood. Only to still be a servant even after!!! He pressed the down button on the elevator a few times and then stepped in. Smiling weakly to Gabriel...
"Sorry..." Sure, Leo seemed pretty bad at first glance. But Jenivieve...she took the cake!!!
"Once you get to know her...." He paused and frowned off. "...she's worse." Normally he shouldn't be bad mouthing his sire, but...Gabriel was a trustable guy right? His daughter trusted him...

Hollywood, Los Angeles: Feeling like a Failure
'It's… spacious here. So much of it, it almost reminds me of LaCroix's office in his tower.. And there's another scent here. a second kindred. Probably a lover of his or a friend. I don't know.' He sent out that reply before sitting upright with a smile. "Oh, no no. I’m not afraid of heights. It’s something to do with the sway of the building whenever there’s an earthquake. That and we’re so up high. It is just the sight could be dizzying." He smiled out. His smile faded just a bit when seeing that disappointed expression. He exhaled, shaking his head. “She didn’t want to come to a place unfamiliar to her. And trust me, this is curiosity. She’ll come when she feels ready. At least she’s not ignoring.” He leaned back. "Oh… Well, where are you from? How old are you really?" He asked with a smile softly. "And…" He thought about it before smiling, "What do you do for a living?" He leaned over to pick up Puck and place on his lap. The puppy would go in a circle before laying down right there.
Leo chuckled softly. "There are plenty of earthquakes around here it seems...we're on a fault line are we not?"
The man couldn't hide his disappointment very well and sighed out. "I know...I suppose I should be glad that she even sent someone in her place..." Still, his eyes lifted a little when Gabriel said that this was still Novel being curious. Which was better than being ignored. "That's true..."
Leo took a seat in a smaller chair across from the toreador and smiled on as he was asked the first set of questions.
"I was born in nineteen thirty-eight in New Orleans. I suppose that makes me...about seventy-five years old...much of that was as a ghoul...up until just a couple years ago..."
As for what he did for a living. "Well...I'm a singer and musician. I just work at local clubs once in a while. When my sire found me I was street performing...Jenivieve makes most of the money at the moment...er..."
"Speak of the devil..." Leo muttered softly and looked past Gabriel.
Behind Gabriel there was the sound of keys, the door opening and in walked a pale, dark haired woman in a red coat with black feather trim. Her hair was short and had this little swirl like an older 40's or 50's model. She had charcoal like eyes that swept over the home that now had an unfamiliar kindred in it and a...dog...
Leo leapt up from his chair and went over to the woman and took her coat, acting more of a butler than a friend or lover. "Jenivieve, this is Gabriel. Gabriel...Jenivieve..."
While he hung up the coat he turned slightly to her and asked. "Do you remember me telling you I found my biological daughter? This is her older brother...He's come to visit in her stead..."
The woman paused to look at Gabriel and smiled a little. "So good to meet you!~ I hope he's not to troubling to you. I told him to leave the girl alone...but he wouldn't..." She looked down on her fledging for a moment as he was carefully knelt at her feet and took her shoes off and replaced them with soft slippers. As soon as he was done she sat down on the chair Leo had once sat and smiled. Her gaze went to the dog for a moment and a slight look of disdain was on her face; apparently she was not a dog lover.
Leo came and went from the kitchen with haste and had a wineglass full of blood for her in a matter of moments. From there he remained standing at her side next to the chair. As much as he was no longer a ghoul and now his own man and kindred he was still very very much under his sires thumb.
He smiled weakly. "Is there anymore questions...? Maybe we could go somewhere else...out of my ladies way perhaps..."
Hollywood, Los Angeles: Feeling like a Failure
Gabriel glanced back at the toreador, smiling out softly, “No, I don’t mind at all. I’ll go and sit down.” He placed Puck down. Though the puppy remained close to his leg, looking away. He doesn’t know what to make of this place. There’s a lot of space! Lots of space! But it smells like someone he doesn’t know. He’s anxious by some. Gabriel crouched down and began to pet Puck on the head gently; reassuring him that everything is just fine. He would just whine and rest his head on Gabe’s shoe, looking up to him. “It’s alright; we won’t be here too long. Then, you could go and play with Cammers and the cat.” that’ll make him happy. Standing tall once more to look around. My god, this place is very spacious. Furniture and whatnot looking all pristine and brand new. “Eesh…” He muttered barely, walking around to see the place. He pulled out his phone and took a few pictures of the place to send them over to Novel. After they were said and done, he texted her for some questions to ask of him. Turning around, he smiled over to Leo when he came out in some clothing. “It’s fine. At least you were sleeping in your birthday suit.” He chuckled faintly. Moving over to the window, he looked out to see the view. “Yes… It’s quite beautiful. Though I might get dizzy if I look for too long.” He laughed just a smidge.
Novel would reply pretty quickly from her own phone. No doubt she was hovering over her own cellphone like a hawk the entire time 'Where is he from? How old is he? What he do for a living? Things like that.' Simple questions to get to know him. 'How is it going so far?'
One odd thing about this place is that it didn't smell solely of Leo, but of another kindred as well. So this wasn't Leo's home all by himself. Leo just smiled softly and looked out the window. "Really? Are you afraid of heights then? Or is it the sway? Tall building tend to rock...it's nothing to worry about though..." He waved his hand slightly and just grinned. "So...my dau--Novel asked you to come over here and interview me or something!?" He was smiling but under that he seemed...disappointed.
"...I guess I couldn't expect her to come right over..." He sighed softly then perked up again. "SO! First question, shoot!"

Gabriel smiled when the door was opening, only to be frozen by the sight. No, it was not a beauti trance. More like petrified at the sight. This was just horrible. Very unappealing. To a point where he’s internally screaming. Especially with that ungodly pink coat. “… Hm? Oh, sorry I spaced out for a moment there.” And felt like running away. He stepped inside; nudging the leash so that Puck would follow. Since he felt nervous to step inside a room that smells like a vampire he’s unfamiliar with, he turned back around and picked the puppy up to hold. He went inside to look all around and merely observe the place, get a good look of what he lives in. "Hm? No, thank you. Perhaps a dish of water for Puck here." He smiled over to Leo, reaching over to pet Puck on the head gently to keep him calm and relaxed while in an unfamiliar place. “I came here since Novel doesn’t feel quite comfortable just yet on seeing you privately. So, like an older brother, I decided to come out and meet with you to find out a bit.
"Ah I see..." The other toreador smiled a little. "Er...do you mind if I go get around...Want to get into something more appropriate to talk in..." He'd love to take a nice hot bath and soak for a bit then get dressed and comfortable...but no! He didn't have time for that! At best be might be able to get some pants and a shirt on. He'd just answered the door in what he was wearing now because he simply couldn't leave Gabriel outside the suite room forever!
"Take a look around! I'll be right back!" The man scurried off to another room and disappeared behind a closed door.
The place Leo lived in was wide and spacious. Lots of empty space. Very clean. The walls all seemed to be made of glass. Huge glass windows showing the outside night and city lights. The view was Breathtaking! Surely his room where he slept wouldn't be like this, but it was a wonderful view from the living room at least. His things had an an entirely modern feel as many toreador kept their things to tip top, modern condition. Everything new all the time. A few month old fashion? Ancient history!
Leo came back with a black button up shirt, mostly unbuttoned and a pair of purple skinny jean like bottoms. "There. Better! Sorry about that! I'm embarrassed. I was quite the mess, but I didn't want to leave you in the hall..."
He glanced out the window at everything. "What do you think of the place!? Nice view right!?"

He laughed softly. Were they that easily seen at the Halloween party? The toreador was a bit surprised. Then again, he hoped he didn’t appear like he was boasting and showing her off to everyone in the place. He was only being modest and introducing her to some he knows. "Really?" He smiled a bit more at the idea of her liking him a lot, maybe even love. Though, he shouldn’t get his hopes up. He didn’t want to lose her as a close friend. He smiled softly. "I hope you’re right. She’s a sweet, energetic woman who keeps me on my toes." He stood up after a while, reaching over to take the piece of paper given to her. She looked it over before nodding to her with a smile. “Alright, I’ll send him a text before I arrive.” He hugged her one last time before heading on hop. “Alright, I’ll set it up for us next week. Either that or laser tag. Night, Ducky. Night, Kaydan~” He called out to the ghoul. He went on up the stairs and over to his car. Off to his home to rest up. - Gabriel was in his car. Puck sitting in the passenger seat since Ophelia is at work. He didn’t have the heart to leave Puck alone at home. So, Puck is coming on a trip with him! Besides, he needs to let loose some of that energy. When he parked in the parking lot of the hotel, he sent a text message over to Leo, saying he’s coming over right now to talk to him. Picking up Puck, leashed and headed inside, he got in the elevator and up to the floor that the paper has stated he’s on. He walked over to the door and then knocked on it with Pick sitting at his side, scratching at his neck. Tonight, Gabriel’s hair was tied back in a ponytail and wearing a v-neck long-sleeved shirt with some regular jeans and a pair of sneakers. He glanced at the watch on his left wrist, seeing the time before waiting for the clansmen to answer the door.
Leo vaguely heard the knocking. First thought was that it was the most annoying alarm clock sound someone could think to make. Then, realized someone must actually be at the door. He picked up his phone and held it away from his face to squint at it. He had bad eyesight even after being embraced, farsighted. He could see things further away better than close. He needed his glasses for closer things.
Oh! Oh no...
Glancing down at himself he was wearing sleeping pants and nothing else. He could answer the door like this!!! Quickly he grabbed the first thing he could and pulled it on. His favorite pink coat! He set his one of his many pairs of glasses on the bridge of his nose and with that on he rushed to the door. Taking a breath he opened the door and smiled. "Hello! Sorry! I didn't get your text. Do you want to come it!~"
He'd yet to even fed tonight but now he had a guest, and he couldn't. Internally he might have been a little annoyed. Sure, Novel told him...he just forgot. That was his fault.
