하도 cuc의 가치와 cup의 가치가 많이 차이가 나다보니, 현지인들의 사기도 많다.

특이하게 쿠바에는 3단위의 동전이 있는데 이게 계산하기가 쉽지가 않다.

환전도 공식 환전소에서만 가능한데, 그래서 한번 환전을 하려면 꽤 오랜 줄을 기다려야한다.

한번은 공식 환전소에서 환전을 하는데 3cuc짜리를 10개 넘게 주는 것이었다. 원래 환전을 하면 그자리에서 확인하는게 습관이되어있어서 계산을 해보는데 아무래도 이상했다. 3단위, 5단위, 10단위를 더하려니 쉽지가 않았다. 환전을 기다리는 사람들이 너무 많아서 빠르게 계산을 해보려 다 더 계산이 잘 안됬다. 그렇게 두세번 계산을 해보는데 환전 직원이 갑자기 5cuc 몇개 던저 주는 것이다. 어 이제야 계산이 맞았다.
