The Cahill Building, St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst, Sydney Australia. Now decommissioned and awaiting demolition, the building was home to Ward 17 South, the storied HIV facility that became the epicentre of the AIDS crisis in Australia. Not long after the first local diagnosis of AIDS in 1982, Ward 17 South was designated an HIV treatment and care facility. The Sisters of Charity, true to their mission of caring for the sick and marginalised, played a central role in getting the facility up and running. Defying the Catholic Church and the prevailing social stigmas around AIDS, the Sisters provided much needed care and compassion to patients and their loved ones.
D O Ñ A N A // “Eterna Primavera”

There are places where spring simply arrives… and others where it bursts forth.
If you’ve ever wanted to truly experience spring…
even to live it in Doñana.
📍 Have you been there this spring? Tell me about it in the comments.

Along the old linden alley
San Gimignano, Italy 🇮🇹
San Gimignano is a beautiful medieval hill town in Tuscany, famous for its distinctive stone towers and remarkably well-preserved historic center.
The town became wealthy during the Middle Ages because it stood along the important Via Francigena, attracting pilgrims and merchants traveling across Europe. Wealthy families competed to build tall towers as symbols of their power. Originally, the town had around 70 towers; today, 14 remain.
San Gimignano later declined economically, especially after the plague and political changes of the 14th century. This decline helped preserve its medieval appearance, as little modern development took place.
Today, San Gimignano is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Italy’s most famous medieval destinations, known for its towers, narrow streets, historic churches, and panoramic Tuscan landscapes. 🇮🇹
