no offense @life but can I have a breather… a break… some slack…

“Hm.” she just sighed it off. She put her feet up on her desk.

Lenore sighed and took out her drawing paper and scribbled more Lees. Yep, she was still stuck drawing him. She just really hoped Ben wouldn’t ask what she’s drawing.

Ben wasn’t exactly paying attention to Lenore; he was spacing out in his own thoughts.

And as usual, Lenore trashed the Lee drawing. Of course, not in any logical way. Apparently she thought crumpling it up and throwing it at the window would get rid of it.

The paper ball hitting the window caught Ben’s attention. He looked at her, silently seeking explanation.

“Don’t look at it.” she just stated and went back to drawing.

“It’s in a ball; how am I supposed to look at it from here?” he asked.

“Well…I don’t know…” she said “I just don’t really want anyone else to see whats on there.” she realized that her usual “crumple and throw out of view” thing probably wasn’t the best method to get rid of it.

“Well, maybe you shouldn’t draw it?” Ben suggested.

“If it was that easy don’t you think I would’ve done that?” Lenore flatly stated

“Good point.” Ben figured. “I just wouldn’t run that risk like that,” he explained.

“Hm”

“Hm.” she just sighed it off. She put her feet up on her desk.

“Oh, girl drama. Sounds like reality TV,” Ben commented.

“Okay so…I didn’t KNOW he was spoken for, and even then she TOTALLY makes him uncomfortable! I don’t usually go for spoken for guys but she just haaaad to bring my reputation into this and bring up Beckett…UGH! I hate her…” Lenore avoided saying “her” name.

“Uhh… okay…” Ben sat there, just looking to move on.

“Sorry, you probably don’t care.” she realized not everyone was into her personal problems, which was probably a good thing, even though she did need to vent.

“Pfft” she slightly laughed “But seriously. Girl accused me of wanting to steal her boyfriend…Well, I do…but…” Lenore explained

“Well I meant that in a more joking way…sorry…I’m just a little surprised you didn’t ask what I’m in for…” she said realizing she accidentally struck a nerve there.

“Well, what are you in for then?” he asked, now that she brought the topic up.

“Got into a cat-fight. Now I have double detention for a week.” she replied.

“Wow,” Ben commented. It was really all he could say on it.

“She shouldn’t have fucking brought up Beckett” she muttered under her breath.

“Huh?” Ben noticed her muttering. For someone who doesn’t want people going into his life, Ben sure noticed a lot of things about others’.

“Nothing.” She said in a salty tone, that showed that the cause of that cat-fight was still fresh in her mind, and as far as she was concerned, it sure as hell wasn’t settled. “Just someone said something to me that was too far and I sure wasn’t gonna take it.”

“Well, what are you in for then?” he asked, now that she brought the topic up.

“You okay?” She kinda sensed something…off…about his tone on that last part.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” Ben replied, trying to return to his previous act. “That was… just a bad day for me.”

“Oh, I understand.” Lenore replied sympathetically. She’d had some pretty bad days too the past couple weeks…Boy related internal drama, which wasn’t that important.

It seemed Lenore took the comment for what it was, and didn’t go deeper into it. Ben sighed in relief. Well, it was more of a breathe-sigh. He cherished the moment for a second. Not having to explain was better.

“So…” she just said. “How come I’ve never seen you around school before?” she said, she wasn’t sure if that was a stupid question or not, but she still asked it.

“Well, uh, the school’s kinda big,” he gestured. “And I’ve only been here this year,” he added.

“Haha I meant to ask if you were new around here…I TOTALLY worded that wrong…” she awkwardly face palmed at her wording.

“Well… I guess I still am,” he stated. “I mean, it doesn’t feel very ‘new’ anymore, but…”

“Ah.” she replied. “So...you’re not gonna ask about me at all? I heard your life story.” she joked.
