Teh’thi flailed as Li shoved him, particularly in her direction- hoping to shoo her off.
“Nooooooo, mine tent’s THREE down from yours- I’dcounted-my-self.” He slurred and threw a tiny tantrum similar to a petulant child refusing to wake up for early morning schooling- but froze at the mention of a nasty ritual performed in -his- and -felix’s- bed.
“You did-WHAT?-Inhere?… youHAVEyour’e ownbed-youKNOW!” He wretched repeatedly, rolling around in place. “Was yourbed-NOT-fanceeeeeee enough? Had to steal yet -ANOTHER- thing from Felix and I?”
She was tired.
She had spent most of the day avoiding temptation, trying not to give in to an old addiction.
And now? Now some stupid fuck was messing around in her home, whining about losses–?
Liana wasn’t having it.
“I wouldn’t have taken your daughter if you weren’t too busy being a mopey piece of shit!”
She shouted, raising her hand and striking him across the face. Consequences be damned– she hadn’t even started this antagonistic streak, but she was certainly in favor of ending it.
“Now. GET. OUT!”
Teh’thi sat up. He gave Li a pained stare- as if he she broke an important component to his brain and rendered his comprehension skills useless.
“Well I’ll-... I’ll-...” He pointed at the door (the actual door this time) with each repetition of the line. “Well I’ll take… YOUR daughter. Then-we’ll-be-EVEN. HAH-”
Slap!
A slap from Li was nothing new. But for some reason, in his current state, the sting burned his face at an increasingly painful rate. He slowly placed his hand on the red mark- realizing its significance… And then the tears began to well up in his eyes.
“You don’t understand!” Here it came. The typical happy-go-lucky stage of drunkenness had left and was now replaced by systematic depression. Only furthered by the cold slap to the face. The tears were pouring out of the grown man’s face at an alarming rate.
“What it’s--Like---to---be---so--alone!!” He sobbed, slowly curling into a ball.
“I--just--want--to--sleep!” Gross, slobbery breaths followed each word, making his speech comparable to that of a two-year-old’s first words.
