Semi-Hiatus

It had been a week since Bangtan had come to the conclusion that somebody was not only trying to erase not only you, but them as well. Yoongi hadn't really put forth much of an effort to keep an eye on you like his responsibilities required. He would occasionally walk into the bar, sit there for an hour sipping on the same bar before he would leave and call it a day. He had a hit list he would much rather take care of. He knew he would have to get closer to you in order to ensure better protection but he just didn't want to. The way he saw it, he only needed Bangtan.

But desperate times call for desperate measures. The fact that they had just nearly gotten wiped out didn't cause a halt in their business deals. Bangtan went about their business like nothing was bothering them. It was a front so they would seem clueless. This business required them to go to the outskirts of town for a deal and luck didn't seem to be on their side because the deal went bad very fast, ending in a lot of bloodshed. The people who they were making the deal with weren't outnumbered but they didn't come close to the amount of skill that Bangtan possessed. Yet somehow, one of them still ended up injured.

Which brings us to present time, Yoongi was pounding on the front door of the bar. Namjoon and Seokjin were behind him with Hoseok in between them. Namjoon had Hoseok's arm slung over his shoulder and Seokjin had his arm wrapped around the younger's waist. They were trying to keep him standing while he applied pressure to the bullet wound in his side that was bleeding profusely.

You swung the door open, the bags under your eyes showing exactly how tired you were and the dark expression on your face indicated they had woken you up. But your expression softened when you noticed an injured Hoseok. A sigh escaped your lips as you quickly led them upstairs into your home.

"Put him on the dining table and remove his shirt. Tell me what happened." You ordered as you moved quickly to grad the first aid kit along with a few basic surgical instruments.

When they made no effort to move you turned around with a raised brow and they quickly scrambled to lay the man across the table. Yoongi was standing off in the corner watching as Seokjin explained what had happened. His head tilting a bit as he watched a look of concentration replace the tired expression when you began to get to work.

You quickly cleaned up the wound as much as you could with it still bleeding. Giving him a shot of Lidocaine to numb the area as best as possible, waiting a bit before you dragged a scalpel across his skin to open up the wound a little more.

"I'm going to need all three of you to hold him down. Drugged or not, he's still awake and bullet removal hurts like a bitch." You said as you held up a pair of forceps.

Seokjin held Hoseok's arms down while Namjoon and Yoongi each held a leg down. Seokjin looked uneasy as he looked between you and Hoseok, then at the forceps in your hand. But before he could even say anything, you had already began to remove the bullet from Hoseok's abdomen. A groan of pain coming from the man as he tried to move in discomfort.

"Now comes the fun part." You muttered to yourself in a sarcastic manner, earning a weird look from Namjoon and Seokjin, and a snort of amusement from Yoongi who tried to quickly cover it up with a cough.

You began to pull the forceps out, causing Hoseok to groan louder and begin to try and thrash around in his spot. Quickly but carefully, you removed the bullet and moved on to once again cleaning the area before stitching him up with a thread and needle. After stitching him up you put a gauze pad over the wound and secured it with gauze wrap.

Running a hand through your hair tiredly, you looked up at the three men who were just looking down at their injured friend who was trying to sit up.

"If you fuck up your stitches I'm not stitching you back up." You threatened, causing him to look over at you with a startled expression.

"Thank you." Hoseok spoke weakly, but still managed to plaster a bright smile on his face.

"It's nothing, seriously. But you are going to have to stay overnight so I can make sure you don't get an infection." You looked over at the other three, "I have two guest rooms. One room has two beds so two of you should be fine. I'll take the couch."

"No no, this is your home." Seokjin began but you just shook your head.

"Don't worry about it, I've slept on that couch more times than I have in my bed." You said as you helped Hoseok stand up, "Besides, none of you are small enough to fit comfortably on it."

Yoongi helped you lead Hoseok into one of the guest room's and lay him down in one of the beds carefully. You reached into your pocket and held out painkillers that Hoseok quickly took before laying back in bed and attempted to get some sleep.

"Goodnight." You said with a small smile before you walked out of the room to help the other two get situated in their rooms for the night.

Yoongi's eyes followed you as you left the room. Once the door closed he sat on the other bed in the room and took the time to observe his surroundings. His nose scrunched up in a bit of distaste at the bright pink color of everything in the room. He looked over at Hoseok only to find him already fast asleep and decided that he should probably be sleeping as well.

Laying back in the bed and turning onto his side, his eyes landed on a picture frame that showed two little girls smiling widely as they walked across the bar top, a man looking at them with a loving smile as he cleaned a glass and a woman was sat on one of the stools and seemed to be laughing. He gave a small smile at the picture, not giving it a further thought as he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Yoongi walked along the sidewalk with Jimin at his side as they made their way to the warehouse that they had told the rest of Bangtan to meet them at. Going through the alley entrance, they walked into the warehouse and went upstairs to the office that overlooked the entire place.

"Why is it that we had to meet here?" Namjoon asked from his spot, seated on stacked crates.

"It's about my target. There is some rule among the gangs that no harm is to come to her." Yoongi explained as he leaned against the wall.

The rest of Bangtan looked over to Jimin who nodded, confirming Yoongi's words.

"Her family was well known for taking care of the town gangs. It's like they all owe a debt to her." Jimin added to Yoongi's statement.

"Why the fuck weren't we told about this?! We almost killed her!" Namjoon snapped and the rest cringed at how pissed their boss sounded.

"It's actually pretty brilliant if you think about it." Hoseok spoke up and Jungkook nodded from beside him.

"Yeah, think about it. It's a two birds with one stone kind of situation." Jungkook said, Namjoon turned his attention towards the youngest and gestured for him to continue.

"Well somebody obviously really wants her gone, right? But they can't do that or they have all the gangs in town on their ass. We're new to this town and we're a new gang which means a new rival. But because we're new, this also means that we don't know this rule regarding her.." Jungkook explains slowly, trailing off a bit before looking to Hoseok to continue.

"They wanted us to take her out so we take the heat and most likely get destroyed. Two birds with one stone. The girl is dead and now they have one less rival." Hoseok says simply.

"We've been here for two years though, why now?" Taehyung asked as he leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees.

"Maybe she pissed somebody off and now they want her gone. They just, obviously, can't do it themselves." Seokjin suggested, causing Jimin and Yoongi's heads to snap in each other's direction.

"What? What is it?" Seokjin asked as he looked at the two, Namjoon stared at the two with an annoyed expression.

"Care to share?" He asked and Jimin cleared his throat as he looked over at the boss.

"Well there was this guy at the bar tonight.." Jimin trailed off, turning over to look at Yoongi.

"Choi Siwon, he's part of SuJu. Y/N turned him down and based on what she said, it wasn't the first time she had turned him down. He looked really pissed and apparently beat the crap out of a member of EXO." Yoongi said, kicking himself off the wall as he began to pace.

"Jungkook when we get back to headquarters I need you to track where the Hit came from. Hoseok, see if you can speed up the shipment of the rest of our weapons. I get the feeling we're going to need them soon. Yoongi since she was your target, you're in charge of making sure nothing happens to her." Namjoon began to spout orders, all of them nodding in compliance except for Yoongi who stopped in his tracks to glare at the boss.

"My job is to kill people. Not save them. Why can't Jimin be her bodyguard, he's the fighter." Yoongi scowled and Namjoon shot him a smirk.

"You're the one who gave me a hard time about the hit in the first place."

"Within good reason! We could've been wiped out had I not!" He snapped, his voice raising along with his anger levels.

"Well suck it up, she's your responsibility until we find out who tried to get rid of us and her." Namjoon snapped back as he stood.

The pair stared each other down, as if daring each other to challenge the other. The rest of Bangtan stood awkwardly in the room as they watched the showdown.

"Stop having a pissing contest. The sooner we figure this shit out the sooner we don't have to deal with it." Hoseok spoke up as he made his way out of the room.

Yoongi groaned, the scowl seemingly permanently etched on his face as he followed after Hoseok.

It had been a few days since the event and since then you had been asking some of the people who came to your bar about the new gang. All the information you had gathered was that there was seven of them and they were called Bangtan.

Your eyebrows furrowed as you scrubbed at the bar top. The thought of the new gang made you uneasy because it seemed that nobody really knew much about Bangtan. The sound of somebody clearing their throat caught your attention and you looked up to see the quiet one from the other night with someone unfamiliar beside him.

You threw the rag over your shoulder and walked over to them, shoving the unease to the back of your mind.

"Nice to see you were able to make it Yoongi, although I don't believe we've met before." You said, turning your attention to the man beside him.

"Park Jimin, and you are?" He introduced himself as he took a seat on the bar stool.

"Y/L/N Y/N." You responded before pointing at the chalkboard on the wall, "Mind the rules please." You smiled before filling up two glasses with beer and sliding them in front of the two Bangtan members.

"We didn't order." Yoongi muttered, staring at the glass before looking up at you.

"Hyung why are you complaining, it's free alcohol." Jimin elbowed the elder playfully before taking a gulp of the drink.

You couldn't help the laugh that escaped your lips, "It's on the house. It's your first time here. If you need me just yell." You said before going back to wiping the counter and serving the other people in the bar.

"Y/N love!" You heard somebody yell as they entered the bar and the smile on your face was quickly wiped off with an annoyed expression before you covered it up with a fake smile.

"Siwon.." You greeted the man with a slight roll of your eyes and prepared his usual drink, scotch on the rocks.

When he reached the bar you placed his drink in front of him and began to go tend to another customer but stopped when he grabbed your wrist and spun you around. Everybody in the bar had turned their attention to the both of you, watching as you glared at his hand on your wrist.

"Come on baby, how about we go out for dinner sometime?" He shot you a smile, causing another roll of your eyes as you removed his hand from your wrist.

"I've told you before Siwon, I don't want to go out to dinner with you." You hissed and left your spot from behind the bar to pick up the empty glasses in the room.

Siwon grumbled curses as he downed his drink and left angrily. You returned to your spot behind the bar and began to clean the glasses, you felt a wave of peacefulness as you cleaned the glasses. But that peacefulness was short-lived when the door to the bar swung open and three men walked in. Two of them were supporting the one in the middle who was very obviously injured. You recognized them as members of EXO.

"Y/N!" Minseok yelled as he continued to walk in. You were quick to make your way over and eye the injured one up and down.

"What happened?" You asked as you put your hand on the chin of the injured and made them look up, a frown making its way onto your face when you notice it was Jongin.

"Jackson, Jinyoung, help Minseok take him upstairs. Sehun tell me what happened and don't leave a single detail out." You ordered, Jackson and Jinyoung rushed to help Minseok take Jongin upstairs with you and Sehun following shortly after.

"The three of us were just coming here for a drink and all of a sudden we see Siwon storming out. Jongin being Jongin decided he wanted to make a smart remark and Siwon began to beat the shit out of him. We tried to stop him but Jongin told us not to, he didn't want to jeopardize the newly formed alliance with SuJu." Sehun rushed out as he raked his hand through his hair in a worried manner.

When you entered your kitchen, they had already sat Jongin up on your dining room table. You took the first aid kid out of the cupboard and began to clean the man up.

"Kim Jongin, just how stupid are you?" You scowled at the man you had grown up with, he just sent you a halfhearted smile that showed off his bloody teeth, causing you to grimace.

"Oh come on, you reject Siwon all the time. I wasn't about to let him live that down." He began to chuckle but stopped when he winced.

"Jesus Christ." You muttered as you continued to clean him up.

Yoongi's eyes remained glued to the closed door that you had disappeared behind. Jackson and Jinyoung had returned downstairs shortly after helping the injured upstairs.

"The hell is that about?" Yoongi asked out loud, earning the attention of a woman at the bar.

"You must be new here." She said, tilting her head to the side and the look he gave her only confirmed her thoughts. She nodded and finished off her drink before taking a seat closer to him.

"As you know, this bar is a sanctuary for all. It was started by her parents, her father ran the bar and her mother would aid anybody who came in wounded." She explained, her eyes flickering to the closed door that he had been looking at before. "She took over both of their responsibilities fully when they passed away two years ago."

"That's intense." Jimin muttered from beside Yoongi, staring down at his empty glass of beer.

"Who are you? How do you know all of this?" Yoongi questioned the woman.

"Lee Chaerin, but people call me CL. I know this because she's like my little sister. Everybody in this bar or who comes to this bar has either grown up with her or helped take part in raising her." She looked around the bar before turning her attention back to Yoongi.

"If your gang expects to stay in tact here, then you need to know the one rule that every gang has in this town. No harm comes to this girl." CL spoke in a serious tone, a deadly look in her eyes as she stared the two newcomers down. "As long as you respect that rule you'll more or less be fine." She finished, shooting them a quick smile before she walked off with Yoongi's beer.

Yoongi's brows furrowed as he became deep in thought. Taking notice of this, Jimin nudged him.

"Hyung, what's wrong?" He questioned curiously.

Yoongi turned to him, "That rule that she just spoke about. Somebody is breaking it."

"What are you going on about?"

"Someone in one of these gangs is trying to have her killed." He explained and Jimin raised an eyebrow.

"How are you so sure?"

"Because, Jimin, they hired me to be the one to kill her."

Your eyes scanned the ballroom as you sat at the bar, sipping from your glass of champagne. You felt so out of place. Sure you were dressed the part to fit in but in reality you were just there because the gangs felt obligated to invite you because of your parents. They had died two years ago but they were very well known among the gangs in the area.

Your parents had owned a bar that was known as a kind of sanctuary, your father would serve the gang members drinks, no matter what gang they were in. Right above the bar was where your family lived and where gang members would go to your mother to get patched up if they were too far from their headquarters. It was because of this that your family earned the respect of all the gangs in the neighborhood so they had all come to an agreement that no harm would come to your family.

There were many faces you recognized here, a lot of them you had either grown up with or had seen while growing up. Your eyes stopped on seven figures you didn't recognize and you felt yourself tense. There was a new gang in town? Since when? Why didn't anybody think to inform me?

You downed the rest of your champagne and adjusted your dress as you made your way towards the group, you could sense people watching your movements as you approached the newcomers. Sizing them up as you approached, you quickly distinguished the leader.

By the time you had pushed your way through the crowd, there were only two standing. The other five had wandered off. When the remaining two's eyes landed on you, you saw a quick flash of recognition in their eyes before they were back to their emotionless facade.

"Hi I'm Y/L/N Y/N, I've never seen you before at the gathering so I thought I'd introduce myself." You greeted, sending them a smile.

"Kim Namjoon, lovely to meet you." He introduced himself before looking at the man beside him who remained quiet, "This is Min Yoongi, he doesn't talk much." He chuckled and you nodded before shooting Yoongi a smile.

You reached into your clutch and chuckled a bit as you noticed the two men stiffen before you held out two business cards. "Relax, I don't have a gun. Just business cards." You gestured for them to take them, which they did.

"I run a bar in the center of the town, it's called The Sanctuary. Which is essentially what it is, every gang in town has a place to drink and unwind. I hope to see you guys there sometime." You gave a small wave as you turned around and disappeared into the crowd.

Yoongi stared at the business card before looking over at Namjoon who was staring in the direction you had walked off in.

"Well so far you seem to be right. She seems harmless." Namjoon said as he shoved the business card into the pocket of his suit.

"She runs a bar that every gang in town goes to. She's probably heard something she wasn't supposed to." Yoongi muttered before looking back down at the card and flipping it over, letting out a chuckle when he saw BAR RULES printed on the back with a list right beneath it.

I guess I'm going to have to check this bar out for myself then.

Yoongi's eyes scanned the file that was on his tablet. His eyebrows furrowed a bit in confusion as his eyes landed on the picture of his next target. She seemed youthful and innocent, why did somebody need her dead?

He continued to swipe through the information as he walked down the hall to the boss' office. He entered the room without bothering to knock, earning a grunt and a glare of annoyance from Namjoon directed towards him.

"Yes Yoongi?" Namjoon asked as he tore his eyes away from the laptop screen.

"My target. The file doesn't give a reason why she's a target." He stated blankly as he held the tablet up to Namjoon's face.

The boss eyed the hitman, his eyebrow raising as he leaned back in his chair. "I didn't know you needed a reason."

"You know damn well I don't kill women and children unless there is a valid reason. Why is she being targeted?" He pressed for more information.

The girl seemed harmless and the fact that there wasn't a reason as to why he had to kill her just made the entire thing suspicious.

"I don't know. I just know somebody is willing to pay a lot of money to have her gone." Namjoon gave in as he sat back up and went back to whatever he was working on.

"I don't give a shit how much. I won't do it." Yoongi said before he began to make his way out of the office.

"Yoongi I'll tell you what, how about you watch her for a while and then make your decision." He proposed, causing the hitman to stop in his tracks, looking over his shoulder at his boss. "However, keep in mind that this is time sensitive. I don't want to risk losing money just because you waited to make the decision that he indeed had to die."

Yoongi thought for a moment before nodding his head and walking out of the office. His eyes returning to the file on his tablet.

"Lets see why somebody wants you gone so badly Y/L/N Y/N." He muttered as he made his way into the armory.
