Lubov Egorova
The 8th of August (1880) is the birthday of Lubov Egorova. She studied ballet at the Imperial Theatre School in St. Petersburg under Enrico Cecchetti. After graduating in 1898, she started work as a coryphée with the Imperial Ballet. A role as Myrtha in Giselle brought her to the attention of Sergei Diaghilev who cast her in the role of Princess Florine in “The Sleeping Beauty” in 1918 (she danced with Vaslav Nijinsky). She also went on to dance other roles with the Ballets Russes.
Egorova left Russia in 1917 and eventually settled in Paris. After retiring from the stage, she taught as head of the Ballet Russe school in Paris from 1923-1968, and founded the Ballets de la Jeunesse company in 1937. Notable students included Serge Lifar, Roland Petit, Pierre Lacotte and Yvonne Mounsey.

For those of you, who ever wondered about this… This document is from VBA website.
Top table is girls height/weigh requirement, the bottom one is boys.
The column on the left indicates the height (in cm), the column next to it indicates the corresponding weight (in kg).
Example:
The ideal weight for a 174cm (5.7ft) tall girl is 49.8kg (109.8lb) The ideal weight for a 168cm (5.5ft) tall girl is 45.7kg (100lb) The ideal weight for a 155cm (5ft) tall girl is 37kg (81.5lb)
Weight fluctuation allowed for girls over 170cm (5.5ft) tall: +/- 2kg (4.4lb) Weight fluctuation allowed for girls under 169cm (5.5ft) tall: +/- 1kg (2.2lb)
Girls who weigh over 50kg (110lb) will have very limited access to partnering classes, to protect the boys from potential injuries.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this video here before. It was a big hit on insta. It’s a compilation of Nikolai’s fails, which I edited together some time ago. I love these clips because:
Nikolai still looks glorious even when he falls on his face;
To my knowledge, most of these were released from Nikolai’s personal archive by Nikolai himself, which is a nice reminded that Tsiskaridze doesn’t always take himself too seriously;
They are really bloody funny. See if you can spot the random cat bolting across the Bolshoi stage in the last clip. The pre-renovation Bolshoi building housed a lot of stray cats and, apparently, this was a regular occurrence.

Throwback to that one time when Nikolai’s partner’s pointe shoe ribbons came undone during a performance of “The Nutcracker” at the Bolshoi. He had to improvise a solo on the spot danced alone, being the badass that he is, while she ran off stage to fix it.
EDIT: He wasn’t exactly improvising but dancing his part of the pas de deux solo. You see, I knew that but may or may not have drunk two glasses of champaign before writing this. Thanks @naive-lymphocyte for the correction.
The Multiverse
The multiverse is a hypothetical group of multiple universes. Together, these universes comprise everything that exists: the entirety of space, time, matter, energy, and the physical laws and constants that describe them.The different universes within the multiverse are called “parallel universes”, “other universes”, or “alternate.
The universes would be, in an analogy, similar to soap bubbles floating in a larger space capable of harboring them. Some would even be interconnected by black holes or wormholes.
There are several multiverse versions. See two examples.
In chaotic inflation theory, a variant of the cosmic inflation theory, the multiverse, or space as a whole is expanding and will continue to do so forever, but some regions of space stop stretching and forming distinct bubbles (such as pockets of gas in a growing bread). These bubbles are embryonic of level I of the multiverse. Different bubbles can experience different breaks of spontaneous symmetry, which results in different properties, such as different physical constants.
The brane multiverse version postulates that our entire universe exists on a membrane (brane) which floats in a higher dimension or “bulk”. In this bulk, there are other membranes with their own universes. These universes can interact with one another, and when they collide, the violence and energy produced is more than enough to give rise to a big bang. The branes float or drift near each other in the bulk, and every few trillion years, attracted by gravity or some other force we do not understand, collide and bang into each other. This repeated contact gives rise to multiple or “cyclic” big bangs.
