Bringing this here - I FINALLY made one of these!!

I haven’t seen a single thing here on tumblr that ever felt like it was over these boundaries but it was time for me to do my part in helping make things easier for everyone.

Don't worry - this one isn't a clickbait controversy.

I just wanted to surface something regarding DNI tags so my actions are not misconstrued or misrepresented in ways that can hurt my friends.

I have a DNI tag here on Tumblr. This tag exists for people who want space from me as a CC, not as a place for people to ignore consent. This way people who want a “fan space” but still treat me as a human being can have both!!

I like to meet people with respect and all I ask for is the same. I don't want people to think that having a DNI tag means that consent is no longer important, or that I'd ever condone the concept that hidden disrespect is somehow okay,

Or that creators should be expected to just "roll over and take it" - that is... a VERY problematic position regarding consent, agency, and autonomy.

The most important thing here is trying to meet people with respect, and being a content creator does not suddenly disqualify us from deserving respect. Additionally, and finally, being banned from a CC's spaces for behavior outside of that space is fully valid.

It is unfair and unhealthy to be entitled that YOU get to have spaces that are YOURS but you expect, without question, access and ownership of another person's spaces, mental health, safety, and wellbeing.

As always, everyone, I just ask to be kind, treat both your fellow community members and content creators with respect and positive intent, and be kind.
