Chapter 1: The Cake That Was Once PerfectThe cake, made of soft white cream with a delicate sweetness, combined with the tangy blueberries and fresh strawberries, was like the perfect life they once shared. One was the white cream, filled with love and warmth. Another was the blueberry, strong and resilient. The last was the bright strawberry, sweet and fresh, full of emotions, but together, they made the perfect combination./But when Ace left, everything that was once beautiful shattered. Only the blueberry and strawberry remained, left alone in the midst of broken cake pieces. It was like a world that was once whole, now torn apart./Luffy knew he was in pain, but he couldn’t escape the truth. Even though he didn’t fully understand his feelings, he knew he couldn’t lose someone who was still by his side, just like how he had lost Ace.
"Sabo..." Luffy called his name softly, feeling like the whole world was spinning and he couldn’t stop it.
Sabo turned to look at him with warmth. Though his eyes were full of sorrow, he still smiled at Luffy.
"I know... I’ll always be by your side. Even though Ace is gone, you don’t have to be alone," Sabo said with a faint smile, trying to hide the sadness in his eyes.
Luffy looked at Sabo with gratitude in his eyes. He didn’t know what to say, but inside, he felt that Sabo was the reason he could still go on, even on the days when Ace was no longer there.
Sabo slowly pulled Luffy into a warm hug, just like when they were kids.
"Don’t be afraid… Don’t be lonely… The cake might be ruined, but you and I are still here. There will always be strawberries and blueberries," Sabo said softly.
Luffy felt comforted, even though his heart was still heavy. He smiled back at Sabo, feeling warmth inside. He wouldn’t let himself stay in sadness. He would keep Ace’s memory alive in his heart, while moving forward— not only with the blueberry, but with everyone he loved.
Even without Ace now, the two of them were still a part of each other. They stayed side by side, growing together.
