Hi! My name is Lee but Iāve only recently adopted that nickname since I decided to stop living my life like the prequel. I started this blog because I want to stop living my life in waiting mode for when I become a ābetterā version of myself. Iāve realized Iām never going to be skinny enough or have good enough grades or anything like that. I am the best version of myself now and I have to take action now if I want to progress my life. I canāt be put together and be an it girl all the time if I donāt wear my favorite clothes more often and leave my hair unbrushed all day. I have to act like I am living my best life now and soon the habits will build and I will actually have my dream life. This is where Iāll share my journey and hopefully help someone else get their best life.

The basics for having a healthy body is movement and nutrition. I donāt have the motivation to go to the gym every morning and lift weights for 2 hours. But I do have the motivation and enjoyment of going to an adult ballet class once a week and doing streches and simple strength training to prep for class. I donāt make regular meal plans. I search pintrest for cute meal plans and plan to make food that I enjoy like yogurt bowls and empanadas. Make it pretty, make it fun, life is supposed to be enjoyable. Taking care of your health should not be a chore.
When I was a teen I was a little emo kid and also had low iron so I pretended like I was a vampire to get enough iron in my diet. Sometimes you have to get a little creative to get interested in your health.

I love sweets. I don't overly care for greens at all. But one way I've been adding more healthy things into my diet is by drinking green tea more regularly. I sweeten it a lot with honey and it has actually started replacing my morning coffee because it tastes better. Green tea is also good for you to boost your metabolism. I genuinely added like three tablespoons of honey. But what can I say? I like sweet foods. And that is okay because I would much rather enjoy my tea than force myself to drink or eat something that I absolutely hate.
Itās like. When I was told to ājust be yourselfā as a kid I thought it was a passive thing. Like oh easy I just have to sit here and be myself. but the reason so many people think that ābeing yourselfā is bullshit advice is because you actually have to make active choices to do this and it WILL make your life way more fun. You have to wear t-shirts of bands that were popular ten years ago because you like them. You have to do your hair in a way that you find cute or comfortable even if itās āso ninetiesā. If your friend says a food you enjoy is gross to them, you canāt be afraid to admit you casually disagree. You have to do hobbies that youāre interested in even if youāre bad at them and you cant feel like you have to get good at something before you tell people itās an activity you do. You have to read manga and comic books in public and get piercings your relatives think are unattractive. You donāt have to tell people you dislike that you dislike them, but you donāt have to give them your time and attention either. You have to rewatch that kids show youāre nostalgic for even if youāre in your 30s. You have to change your name if you hate it, even if only a few close friends can know. You have to get fun girly drinks at the bar. You have to order hot chocolate when you donāt like coffee and black coffee when you donāt like sweet things. I am still bad at practicing this but it is the only way to make it all tolerable.
I canāt believe this took me so long to learn. It is hard to do sometimes but every time I stay true to myself and donāt worry so much about others my mental health seriously skyrockets.
This morning I had a yogurt bowl and water to wake up my metabolism because breakfast is genuinely important. Iāve only come to realize that since Iāve eaten breakfast every day for a week straight and Iāve felt so energetic and more like myself. I havenāt had those midday drops in my energy that ruins my day anymore. I have been able to focus more on my writing and schoolwork. And I think I have actually eaten less overall because i'm not starving at lunch time. And i've felt so much more joy in my hobbies.Ā To be honest at first I dismissed the idea of breakfast because I was always in a rush in the mornings. But now that Iāve taken the time in the morning to nourish myself I have seen a huge improvement. Now I will definitely keep up this habit. Thank you! š
