Queen of hearts:
A base as a white as snow
Then the process of living and loving
Only it used to not be about love
It was just living
52 weeks
A lot can change in a deck depending on how its shuffled
I got placed next to a queen of diamonds
My heart started to open up
But it couldnt be love
It wasnt the king of hearts
And it was back to just living
My life being reshuffled
Red and black
Night and day
Four suits
Four seasons
Teary eyes wet the paper
And the card peels apart with a map inside
But I already had a taste of something
It was beautiful and short lived
I knew it could blossom even more
And it was something meaningful
My heart became drained
A black spade
Admitted for 72 hours
Playing cards to pass the time
The sleeves werent to protect from wear and tear
They were to hide the crosscut patterns
A 12 year old cried over her parents divorce
She had the same curly hair my friend had
It tore me to shreds
I painted a heart on my face
I put the card game down and shuffled the deck myself
Guiding the hand
She is the sun and I am the moon
We have matching necklaces to prove it
I love her
But I don’t want to kiss her
So it isn’t love
But it is
Love is a driving force like a crown on my head
My heart is now a permanent stamp
I love my friends
But I dont want to keep them closer to me than anyone else
So it isnt love
But it is
I am more than okay without a king of hearts
It’s just not in the cards for me
I became a queen of hearts
No magic tricks
I didnt need to keep a poker face anymore
My opponent folded
