I've never understood the people that insist pilot Alastor is better than canon Alastor. Sure, maybe pilot Al would've been better for a more episodic show but for the way the series turned out?? He'd be soo boring mann. His energy was great for a dramatic introduction but more emotional moments like Alastor's breakdown at the end of S1 probably wouldn't even be possible.

I'm so tired of the discourse surrounding Alastor's asexuality/ semi canon?? Canonish?? Aroaceness man. It feels like the conversation has gotten so toxic and exclusionary. As a sex neutral ace myself, it's been really disheartening seeing fellow aces act like representation more similar to my experience would somehow be less valid or important. As long as they don't present asexuality (aroaceness?? Maybe??) as something inherently sad or needing to be fixed I really don't think what micro label alastor identifies with would affect the quality of the ace rep in the show. We're all underepresented. We all deserve to see ourselves in a character.
