She wasn’t sure how she had gone from being irritated to feeling like a chastised child in only a matter of moments, but the transition made her distinctly uncomfortable and slightly defensive. “I don’t want to see anyone," she said as if the distinction really made any difference at all.

"He made you a garden? Come on, you must show me. And I think the fresh air might do you some good."

"Well of course he did. He may not be the best at raising children, but he has quite a way with raising plants and you can expect nothing less than magnificence from a god of the harvest," Mabel smiled, as if what she'd said wasn't even the least bit strange, but just common sense.

"Can we not bring family into this?" she asked softly as she grabbed the mango. Biting at her lip, softly she murmured, "I don’t want to think of them."

"You don't want to think about them, you don't want to talk to them, you don't want to see them..." she trailed off, feel as though her disapproving tone was making her point clear. 

He snorted. “Like I would be stupid enough to do that. Honestly. It’s like you don’t even know me.”

"Right. I almost forgot about your wife.... or ex wife? Either way, I thought you guys were on a break after the whole box of doom fiasco, no?"

"I don’t want that for you either… Come on, we can go for a walk around the grounds, yes?"

"... Have you seen the garden Charley made for me? You have to see it. It's absolutely enchanting," she said, her face lighting up brighter than it had in ages.

"I think that tends to go along with the being human bit."

"No need for the sass, Eurybia. You're almost worse than your mother," she said, handing her a mango reluctantly enough. 

"I don’t know what the brainless twat is calling it these days, but no, not really. I’ve been distracted… by things."

"By things?" she raised a brow. "What kind of things? Don't tell me you've been fooling around with the natives."

"Fine. Have it your way."

"But Mnemo, Asstraeus and I’ll starve!"

"Haven't you guys been gathering your own food over at Nine Inch Snails, or whatever it is you call yourselves?"

"Where did you find those again?"

"Southern part of the island... Why? Wait, don't tell me these aren't mangoes. I swear, that's what the local called them. Did he lie to me?"

"Not much for teamwork are you, Mnemo?"

"I'm just saying it's probably not smart to stuff our faces with everything we find all at once. We're in survival mode. I think it's better to keep a stash incase it rains and we find ourselves stuck in our shelters, or something of the sort, with no means to get more food. Mangoes. Off limits."
