Heres another character from Starship Home I helped design, Jeff! Early in the game Jeff helps you recover an important item from his crashed ship that lets the player experience the dreams of all the different plants you gather.

Jeff was so much fun to draw, his design was definitely the quickest to knock out I think.

Bonnie Bogovich did such a great job with Jeff’s voice :) Rigging/animation was done by Jack Erskine.

This post is long, LONG overdue, but the mixed-reality game I helped out on came out this year! For the past year and half-ish, I’ve been drawing goopy alien characters, icons, and illustrations for Starship Home, a game where you play and look after interstellar plants in your own personal space ship! 

One of my earliest assignments was to design all the characters you encounter on your journey. This is Wandrim, a botanist who helps you set up your ship and care for your first plant. Thanks Jack Erskine for rigging and animating this guy, it was a blast seeing these guys come to life!

And huge thanks also to Ashley Pinnick for the stellar art direction and guidance overall. I learned so much about game design from her, and I appreciate her taking a chance on me and bringing me onboard the ship :) This was hands-down one of the most fun projects I’ve ever worked on. Big thanks also to Doug Cook from Creature for making this whole thing happen too!
