This doesn't get talked about a lot, but there was so much beauty, and a strange fin de siècle sort of enthusiasm and excitement present in the movement, especially in the early days.

Whether it be art, literature, or music, all these products of Theosophy captured one of the most optimistic moments of human history, back when we knew just enough about the world around us to believe it could all somehow be unified under one doctrine and one philosophy, when science began being just reasonable enough to be fully trusted, but not reasonable enough to seem incompatible with religion or philosophy.

Theosophy does have its problems, but it is undeniably a major influence in every esoteric or even broadly spiritual practice present today, and there is a lot to be said and learned about this first, mass market esoteric system.
