“Well thanks. I guess people are still decent around here.” She followed him, trying to get a read on him. “I’m Mercy.”

“We’re not all terrible.” He chuckled. “Nice to meet you, I’m Scott.”

“Theo has a vaccine, the chimeras you think are dead, they’re not. Theo refuses to give it to me. I-I can take you where their hideout is near but I can’t show you it. I promised Theo I wouldn’t show you”

“I thought you wanted to find Stiles. What if he’s there? What if he needs my help but you’re not going to tell me?”

“At my house, he’s been staying there because he didn’t want his dad or Rhia to find out” she quietly said.

Scott began to ponder. “He has to be with the Dread Doctors or with Theo. Theo does the dirty work.”

“Stiles’s dementia came back and it got so bad that he couldn’t remember anything for a good 30 minutes. So in a selfish decision I suggested the Dread Doctors and he agreed and now he’s a chimera and I haven’t ben able to find him for a good 12 hours. I know you’re mad and you probably want to kill me, which you can do after we find him”

Scott didn’t say anything. He heard her speak but didn’t process it right away. It was few seconds before he realized what Eva had said. She was right, he was angry, but he knew that it was not the time. The priority was to find Stiles. “Where did you last see him?”

      – “Some creatures bothering you? Pack being ripped apart at the seam? Love? Family?” Her brow quirked up, “Name it, I’m sure I’ve dealt with worse.”

“How about all the above?” He asked. 

“Oh you don’t have to carry it if you don’t want to. It needs to go to my car. It’s right over there. It’s just full of some of my old stuff from when I lived here before.”

“It’s no problem really. I’ll take it to you car.” He smiled as he walked over to the car she pointed at.

Your shoe’s untied thats all.

“It is?” He looked down. “It is.” He answered himself. “Uh, thanks man.”

     – She smiled in an adoring manner, “What’s on your mind?”

“A lot.” He said. “Too much to explain.”

          – “I was only wondering since you seemed pretty distracted. Are you always so easily distracted, McCall?”

He chuckled. “If I’m being honest, I am. I always have something on my mind, that’s why.”

“I was asking if you could reach that box on the top shelf. I’m a bit vertically challenged.”

“Sure , no problem.” He smiled softly, reaching for the box she needed with ease. He brought the box down to their level. “Where do you need it?”

    – “I asked what you were doing for the third time.”

“Me? Nothing, nothing at all. Why?”

“I said, ‘you’re kind of standing on my foot.”

“Oh.” He mumbled, removing his foot.” I’m sorry.”
