I don’t want someone who won’t leave me. I don’t want someone to promise me they won’t change their mind, or lose feelings, or hurt me. I don’t long to hear that you’ll love me forever or that you can’t imagine life without me. If you’re going to love me, give me your todays. Give me your morning coffees and goodnight texts. Give me the moments in which you want me the most, and tell me afterward that they were the best moments you've ever had. Give me your good days and bad days as they come, and hold my hand through mine. But if that hand gets too heavy, tell me you’ll let go. Tell me that you know your mind well enough to listen if it changes. And if you tell me today that you want me forever, know that I will respect you tomorrow if you don’t. Because you might not. And I’ll cherish the fact that there was a moment in which you liked the idea of never letting me go. And that will be enough.
