Resistance to taxing billionaires is so mind bogglingly incomprehensible like someone managed to make more money in a year than they could ever spend in an entire lifetime and people are genuinely going "nooooo, don't tax the rich, that'll hurt them. They create so many jobs." ??? The median earnings for someone in Australia in 2022 was $1250 a week. For the sake of simplicity let's say someone on that pays 0 tax and works 52 weeks a year because they hate Christmas - that's $65,000 in a year.

If someone had a billion dollars they could spend $65,000 EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR OVER 42 YEARS STRAIGHT!!!

Imagine being able to spend the annual earnings of 34 people COMBINED. EVERY DAY. FOR DECADES. WHILE STILL EARNING MORE MONEY.

It's not just practical to tax billionaires it's grossly negligent and unethical to let them exist. That much power, wealth, influence, while public services are cut and homeless people starve? People on welfare with homes skip meals! The top 1% of Australians made nearly twice what the other 99% made in the past 2 years!
