Summary: Law was taking a break from the chaos that the Hearts and the Straw Hats were causing at the pool, but getting hit on wasn’t a part of his relaxation plan. But in the end, he might just end up the winner.

Sipping on his whisky and listening to the water furiously splashing behind him, Law was very glad he had decided to stay away from the pool that afternoon. The high-pitched scream that sounded suspiciously like Shachi followed by Luffy’s loud laughter was all the assurance he needed. After two days at this spa resort, which consisted mostly of him either saving Luffy from drowning or actively trying to drown him for pushing Law into the pool, he was more than happy to sit this one out. Someone else could try to do damage control while he sat back, enjoying his drink and laughing at their misfortune. Even if him hiding meant Luffy would keep calling him boring and trying to convince him that he was depriving himself of fun.

Which was absolutely not true; he was having enough fun by himself, thank you very much.

Just as he waved the bartender over to order another drink, he sensed someone approach him and sit on the chair next to him. Judging by the perfume, he had assumed it was Nami, sick of getting doused in water every ten minutes and taking a break; however, when he turned to look at her, he was met with green eyes, a coy smile, shoulder-length, brown hair, and a face he did not recognize.

He felt like a dizziness in his head and for a moment he couldn’t tell, if he was still on top of his ship or had been hurled up to the moon. He felt a dizzy and had that same feeling he had when he drank too many mugs of beer with his crew. His heart was pounding like a drum and he was probably bouncing all over his rubber body, even though that guess seemed absolutely impossible. When Law’s lips moved away from hers, Luffy thought still dazed by that kiss “So these are the feelings you get when you get a kiss from the person she fell in love with” and immediately the two captains exchanged another kiss.

Summary: Law needed coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. That is, unless he wanted to make this the worst attempt at a coup in history.

The moment he woke up that morning, Law knew this was going to be a rough day. Not because he woke up too early after a night of next to no sleep, not because his body was aching from sitting on the hard deck of the Thousand Sunny the entire time, not because he was stuck to deal with the Straw Hats’ energy, and not because they were scheduled to arrive in Dressrosa in a few hours. No; it was because his mind was all foggy, his head spinning before he even made the effort to stand up.

He needed coffee. Lots of it.

Motivated by the prospect of caffeine and finally gathering enough willpower to get up, Law slowly made his way across the deck and towards the kitchen. He congratulated himself for managing to walk in a straight line despite how lightheaded he was, only having to stop and hang onto the railing once during the short journey.

“Black Leg-ya, coffee,” he said as soon as he pushed the door to the kitchen open. He vaguely noticed a few people look at him but he paid them no mind as he dropped into the nearest chair he could find.

Day Eight: Treasure

Law and Luffy run into each other at the bar.

There wasn’t much Law cared for in this world. His friends, Shachi and Penguin, his cat, Bepo. And Luffy. Luffy was everything in the world to Law. Most days Luffy was the only thing that mattered at all.

“Law!” Penguin waved his hand in front of Law’s face.

Law was tired from the long shift at the hospital and was only sitting at the bar because Penguin and Shachi pretty much kidnapped him.

“Hm?” Law muttered, he looked over at Penguin with a bored expression.

“Watchya thinking about?” Penguin nudged  Law’s side.

“Probably Luffy,” Shachi cut in, he set drinks down in front of Law and Penguin. “When isn’t he thinking about Luffy?”

Summary: Every person in the world has a different definition of what ‘treasure’ means. For Luffy, it’s always been his straw hat.

Every person in the world has a different definition of what ‘treasure’ means. For some, of course, it’s the sparkling chests of gold and jewels. For others, it’s the people around them, their family and friends. Or maybe memories, mementos, goals in life, or the things they built with their own hands.

For Luffy, it has always been his straw hat; his number one treasure. He rarely let it out of his sight, and when he did, he was anxious about getting it back as soon as possible. Trafalgar Law knew this; he knew it, and so he always took great care to not misplace it or damage it in any way whenever Luffy took it off while they were together. He knew how important the hat was to Luffy and that was why he was so surprised when the straw hat suddenly landed on his head.

Law asked point blank as he looked at Liffy’s profile: - What will you do once you find the treasure? -. Luffy scratched his nose and answered in a serious voice: - The treasure doesn’t interest me, what matters is to become the King of the Pirates. Law let out a long sigh and asked in a tired voice and looking at the ceiling of the ship: - I mean after you’ve made your dream come true. He threw a yawn and asked again: - Have you ever thought what will happen next? -. Luffy answered in a sincere voice: - No, I have never thought about what will happen next. I would like this trip to last as long as possible …-. Law grumbled thinking that Luffy didn’t hear him: - We can get married once your dream is realized. She covered her hand with her mouth when she realized she had said it aloud. Luffy exclaimed: “Yes, that’s a great idea!” Law didn’t expect that answer and cursed himself for never thinking about a serious proposal and buying a ring to make a serious proposal.

Day Seven: Falling Leaves

Law dragged the last of the leaves through the lawn and into the pile on the grass. Just as he was ready to start bagging leaves Bepo came sprinting through the back yard. He was barking at law with his tail wagging frantically. Chopper was chasing after him, barking just as much.  Luffy wasn’t far behind. He came sprinting to the Law and the leaf pile. Law knew what was coming before Luffy could even follow throw with it.

Bepo and Chopper dove into the leaf pile and Law dropped the rake just in time for Luffy to tackle him. Luffy hit him with so much force Law stumbled back into the leaf pile. Law was surprised he didn’t land on one of the dogs.

Leaves crunched under Law and Luffy laughed loud as they hit the ground. Chopper was chasing Bepo, doing laps around the leaf pile.

Summary: After a run in with Admiral Kizaru, Luffy’s been on complete bed rest while recovering from his injuries. That means exploring any new islands is unthinkable for him. Not on Law’s watch. Absolutely not.

Law looked up from where he was polishing his coin collection when Penguin came into his room, trying to be as quiet as possible, “Captain, we’ve arrived.”

“Good,” Law sighed, speaking equally softly in an effort to not disturb the person sleeping soundly on his bed. “Don’t forget this is just a quick supply run. Tell the others to only get what we need and come right back. We’re in no position to sightsee right now.” He stressed his final words as much as possible while keeping his voice low, taking special care to keep his stare threatening enough to get the message across. Because really, a certain recovering idiot realizing what was happening was the absolutely last thing they needed right then and the crew had to know that, too, and act accordingly.

Still, Penguin looked thoroughly disappointed at his orders, his shoulders sagging as his excited smile dropped. “Aye aye, Captain. I got it, no exploring the pretty island.”

“Island?” Both Law and Penguin jumped at the sudden shout followed by a pained moan as the person in Law’s bed shot up in an attempt to sit.
