Disclaimer: I totally view Jayce and Viktor as something more intimate in regular LoL lore than "just lab partners". The fact that Jayce - charismatic, smart, handsome Jayce - had trouble connecting with people below his own intellect (or perceived intellect) and that he found understanding and companionship in this one other person speaks volumes to me.

That being said, this song reminds me a lot of the aftermath of his falling out with Viktor. The destruction of his lab after V made himself vulnerable, wanting to include Jayce in his endeavors only to have his spirit, achievements and body crushed under their battle. The haunting memories of what they had, what they could have had, hurts on a whole new level. Especially the "You are never coming home" stings when I think about them.

Bio: Not much is known about the Golden Demon. But if you asked him, he would claim he had always felt these urges, this inner drive to create beauty through horrific displays of violence. Growing up in Zyhun, his peers ignored the warning signals, and so he managed to go under the radar until his adulthood. He learned much about martial arts thanks to his father’s school, yet had no intentions of accepting his legacy. The offering to work as a stagehand for Zyhuns traveling theater proved to be a perfect opportunity for him to start his career as a murderous artist under the alias “Khada Jhin”. He killed countless people before he gained the attention of the Kinkou order and was pursued for four years by Master Kusho, Usan and Shen. When he was caught, he was sentenced to life in the Tuula monestary prison. Though being an excellent student in the fields of art, he could never be healed from his morbid desires and delusions. As the Noxian invasion began and Ionia grew more unstable, he was released from prison by his patrons and now freely roams Runeterra, only bound by his clients contracts. Now he brings his art into the world as a renown assassin and instrument of terror.
