redemption is a process.

so what i’m hearing is confirmation that harry definitely had Boy Kisser™️ tendencies when he was younger. but that aside, there are two things about this convo that especially stand out to me:

1) the way becky mentions that both of these “things” happened during mardi gras ( important because of the context ) and harry’s insistence that it was a long time ago, as if time and also maybe the fact that he was drunk negates the fact that anything ever happened.

and 2) that he never told her that story, meaning she must have heard it from her mom. that makes me think it was something harry told grace in confidence ( or maybe it was smth she witnessed, maybe those “one or two things” happened around the time they were courting ). either way, it means grace was talking shit to becky about her dad behind harry’s back and that she’s also apparently homophobic enough to willing throw the past around as a way to degrade her ex ( which isn’t even a surprise tbh given wealthy southern culture ).
