wait until some of the actual j/abitha stans figure out that the b/archies only care about jughead because he’s not with betty and as soon as bughead is back together they’ll start calling him names again. 

when that blows up, that’s gonna be entertaining. or when some of the j/abithas forget they hated betty and act like they never said nothing and turn on the b/archies. 

But I don’t like how they making it a love triangle

i like jabitha, i just think we’re too far into the show/too close to the end of the series to properly explore new ships. season 2/3 would have been the time to do it. we’re in endgame territory now (i feel like s6 will be the last, and probs a short season).

i mean, if you think about it, betty was able to explore a relationship outside of bh but we really haven’t seen that for jughead. i don’t think it’s anything against betty, it’s just people want jughead to have the same opportunity.

i understand this mentality, i just don’t employ it. i don’t do tit for tat in relationships, that’s not how i ship things or go about my everyday life. 

and i don’t think betty got a whole lot of anything outside of jughead. some empty hookups? a shitty boss/hookup (that we saw one kiss from)? jughead had a live in gf and a random hookup. is it because only his hookup was on screen so it doesn’t feel even? it’s not like he was celibate for 7 years. this isn’t a show that does long term anything in between bugvarchie. 

they both had options outside of each other so far. betty and archie are mains and we only saw 1 full hookup and 2 fade to blacks with an added interrupted scene before it all ended in a conversation that took less than 2 minutes. 

the timing of it doesn’t work for me most of all. because right after bughead starts talking? feels like bait. and if it’s more than bait, it’s not going anywhere because as you said, it’s too late in the game for them, especially on a show like riverdale. 

also the assumption that it’ll be a love triangle is a stretch to me, tbh. they do soundbites of other relationships to cause short term drama on this show, not real love triangles. and those friendships that are created to stoke the drama? never recover on this show. 

and i’m not interested in the show paying tabitha dust in service of jughead “having more options.” even if it's a mutual hookup, once it's done, the idea that the show will ever write them the same as before feels laughable to me tbh.

Chapter Eighty Six: The Pincushion Man

Okay, in anticipation of my inbox getting flooded, let me just jot down my thoughts. 

Let’s remember that they have mathematically eliminated all obstacles to Bughead in the last few weeks.

They have studiously refused to show Bughead in any promos, and in very few stills. Even when they do, those still don’t come out until a few days before. 

They have not released any stills for 5.10 though it airs in a week. 

There are a lot of guest stars coming back for 5.10 that were not shown in the promo as well. 

Tabitha being Toni 2.0 and another woman of color as an obstacle to Bughead would be a super bad look. It would also be known to be temporary, and again, not a good look. 

They are purposely holding back on the Bughead plotline. No Bughead in the promo though we know that there is Bughead in the episode. Also, if Twitter is to be believed, as well as a few sources from Tumblr, there’s good Bughead interaction and maybe even a kiss in this coming episode. 

And most importantly:

They’re trolls.
