i had an anon today requested to post an tutorial for my icon! it’s actually a modified version of a graphic i did so this is also gonna be a tutorial on how to do that as well. so here’s what the end result(s) will be:

hello! this is a quick, simple technique (literally takes a minute) that you can use for your graphics:

i primarily use this for twitter headers, but this can be used for any other image that you would like to use for your graphics!

caution: if your image is not from official art or your own creation, please make sure that you have permission to use it! for instance, websites like this and this allow for personal use (i.e. editing for creative purposes w/o profit), but if you use images from other websites (ex. photoshop blogs, deviantart, etc.) make sure that their terms of use are being met!

also this tutorial is being made with photoshop cc 2014 (yes i know it’s ancient but so is my dying laptop lol) and windows 10, so there might be some discrepancies if you use a different photoshop/OS version! (although it should be similar overall)

+ to put an image inside one of the elements, place your image layer right above the layer you want to put  your image in, right-click on your layer, and select “create clipping mask.”

i’ve been asked how to apply this creepy grainy effect on picture/gifs. actually the process is really simple, so making a tutorial from it would result pretty ridiculous, but i’m such a clod when it comes to explain how i do a certain thing that fhfvfi xd  this is how i personally transform gifs from this:

Did you click the “horizontal centers” icon after the vertical one? You have to click both of these icons to center things:

Or it could be because you didn’t center align your text. This one should be the selected one for it to be centered:
