Day 26/100 Follow The Thread . Somewhere in Thailand I made a photograph of a red rope wrapped around a pole of a boat I was on. It was a reminder staring me in the face. An old woman in a dream had been weaving a red thread and handed me a pair of scissors, told me there were things I needed to let go. Perhaps I was the only one on the boat who saw the importance of the red thread. Weeks had already past since I'd received a blessing by a Buddhist monk who wrapped a red thread around my wrist and placed an amulet round my neck. In India I bought a ball of red thread and began weaving prayers with every knot I created. This was my first creative act. That ball of thread followed me across India where again I received blessings from a monk. My fingers kept busy, making prayers and following whatever threads I could find. Like Gretle wandering in the deep woods with Hansel, searching for the breadcrumbs they'd dropped, I hoped I would find what would bring me home. #the100dayproject #100dayproject #100daystomakeabook #solotravel #pilgramage #cranes #dreams #india #buddhistteachings (at Norbulingka Institute)
